Been to Nashville several times, it's beautiful there, especially in October and around Gnaw Bone and Bean Blossom. My favorite thing in Nashville is the Nashville House Restaurant. I love their fried biscuits with apple butter. The Brown County State Park is very nice to. It was sad when the Little Nashville Opry House burnt down. I got to see a lot of big name performers at the Opry House back in the day.

Most of the people in Indiana go to Brown County State Park when the leaves change color in the Fall.

Panning for gold in Brown County, Indiana is a fun, although not profitable, activity in the creeks west of Nashville. This gold is placer gold (in flakes) brought down from Canada by various glaciers. All of Northern Indiana is covered with soil containing placer gold, but only some areas in Indiana have streams with a bedrock bottom that gold cannot sink through so that panning of gold can be done with the dirt and gravel beside the streams. There is no vein gold in Indiana that could be mined profitably.

There is NO vein gold anywhere in Indiana that I know of. Some placer gold in Brown County and in some other places in Indiana can sometimes even be SEEN sitting on the bedrock bottom of a shallow stream.

bobbybob, you should tell the people to watch out for poisonous snakes in Brown County, mostly copperheads and an occasional water moccasin. I once found a snake, a copperhead, coiled up under a large flat rock as I was working to pull the rock from the middle of the shallow stream.
