i have met Richatd several times throigh the years an have had the opportunity to jam a couple of times, when he first set out playing at the North Star in Philly in front of about a dozen people at festivals and Folk Alliance. He is not only an outstanding writer, guitarist, singer and performer, but he is an amazing guy. Truly great... And yes, thanks for posting in its entirety.
Shindell is one of American's great songwriters. (This isn't a "version" -- he's the author of the song, btw!) Check out his albums. He's something special.
"It's in the nature of the beast to wonder if there's something missing." One of my favorite songs, it always makes me want to hit the road and think about things. Hey, thanks for writing it, Shindell.
You know, I love KT Tunstall and all, but... why isn't Richard Shindell on the Today Show??? Richard is all over my iPod, and I'm thrilled every time ANY of songs rolls by in shuffle mode....
i thought his commentary was interesting and it gives a taste of what one can expect at a shindell show so i'm proud to include it. he's witty, personable and after all, he's the genius who wrote the song and performs it here wonderfully. i'm sorry if that inconvenienced you.

I have been playing Irish folk music since 94' so I feel I have a connection there too :-)
I heard her sing it too! It was fantastic, but no one else at the venue seemed to know who Richard Shindell was. I was sad.
That's so true! Antje Duvekot is one of those too. Found out abot Richard and Antje through a band named SOLAS.
what a gem.

What is "the Deluxe Collectors Edition?" No Shindell fan I know has heard of such a thing, and some of us go back to the Fast Folk days.
just a joke. i taped one show in 2003.
Yes, truckers can be spiritual I guess......
You guess? How many lonely hours have you spent out on the road, wondering what it's all about?
Richard Shindell went to seminary and considered becoming a priest. He's definitely spiritual. :)
Pointless bullshit ends at 2:06

Well put, and nice job being patient with the guy posting from under the bridge.
