I love your videos but , I think it would be helpful (especially to newer mercys) if you said numbers like, mercy's normal healing speed is 50 hp per sec but when she ults it's 60 hp per sec. This might be me being picky but I think it can help. PS u are my favourite mercy RUclipsr. 👌💓👌
valking is never a do/don’t situation. never valk into a grav hanzo, pharah, junkrat, genji, etc combo. valk into a grav with little follow up. you *always* have to use your judgement
ever since watching your videos regularly, i’ve actually had around 1k-2k more damage boosted in a typical game, as compared to my usual 800 damage amplified or so. also, you’ve totally changed my mind about valkyrie being a good ult. it’s not the most flashiest, but it is beneficial and enables mercy’s team, like the rest of her kit does. ty for this awesome guide ✨
I still think Valk is the weakest support ult in the game and the fact you have to treat it like it's on cooldown and prominently use the dmg boost since the healing isn't that good kinda illustrates that. HOWEVER, with that being said, this is an excellent guide to how to use it and when to. I find that Valk is difficult to know when to use and I mostly see guides for like GM and t500 and like yeah that can be useful, but the game is played so differently at higher teirs, you can't really apply the same logic at lower teirs, mostly because its an enabler ult not something Mercy can pop and just DO SOMETHING ON HER OWN. It heavily relies on team play and if the team isn't coordinated it's difficult to figure out when to best use it.
Well I mean you can also look at Ana's ultimate that way, when seeing Valkyrie as an ultimate which relies on her teammates. Although Ana has other elements in her kit that she can manage on her own and don't have to rely on teammates to make them effective, her ultimate itself (nano boost) can't be use without an ally in sight, and once she hits her targeted ally with her nano boost, the effectiveness / what happens with the nano boost, pretty much depend on what the ally will do with it and is out of Ana's control (now that the nano boost also heals the targeted ally, it at least might enable you to save that ally, but if after that the person just sits there - like a Reinhardt just holding his shield in front of the enemy team -, a big part of the usefulness of the ultimate will be wasted and there is nothing that you can do about it, because as Ana you don't have control over what happens with the nano boost once you have pressed Q). On the other hand, even though an ultimate like Valkyrie relies on Mercy's allies for the most part as an enabling-ultimate, it can still have its own use even without teammates, as you can get to objectives faster on your own to stall points / payloads with it till the rest of your team comes back (even easier to do in lower ranks since often players don't have good enough aim to take you down with your self-regen and vertical/horizontal mobility, whether there are dead teammates' bodies on point or not), and/or you can go get key kills with your pistol like Niandra explained in her video. It's always nice to have guides like this though, like you said, that aren't for GM+ ranks only and which show the possibilities with a particular character in various situations.
Ana, Zenyatta and Brigitte have 'enabler' ults, so what's your point? Are they supposed to go super saiyan like Moira? Supports aren't the flashiest characters; they're just the ones that help their teammates the most (as well as shield tanks). You sound like one of the people who want Mass Res back to get PoTG, but that's not what Mercy (or supports in general) are about. I get that Mercy could use more impact and clutch moments like Ana's sleep dart, Zenyatta's picks and Moira's ult, but Mercy shouldn't have an impact that requires her teammates getting wiped in one big cluster. I personally think her current res has some impact, but it should be changed to be more viable in teamfights (firstly, making it not so damn obvious) and maybe having the cast time or damage taken reduced.
I wouldn’t say u have to damage boost to compensate for the healing. I just think valk damage boost is one of the strongest things in the game. Think of it like this. Zen can make one person take 30% (this will soon get nerfed to 25%) from everyone. Ana can make one teammate do 50% damage for a short time to the whole enemy team instead of on one person Mercy can make one person deal 30% effectively forever if she wants without valk. Mercy with valk however can make her WHOLE team do 30% extra damage to EVERYONE pretty much making her entire team gods.
I just wanna say that, i watched one of your vids a year ago? and ive never commented but i just wanted to say THANK you (even tho its been a year lol) you literally teached me how to dmg boost and im so happy aaa!! i dont play ow/mercy as much but i really like your personality and channel :) keep up the good work!
there is nothing better than damage boosting a reaper right now as well with how much damage he does now and heals himself. Last night I boosted a reaper at the end of hollywood and he got a team kill with it, securing the win.
Good shit as always Niandra! Def think that more people need to know that damage boost is the preferred mode. I generally try to keep the team around half health and focus on damage boost for the rest. Having that extra 20% ult charge or so once I'm done topping everyone off after we win the fight feels so good.
Amazing guide (as usual) something I learnt when I was fucking around with mercy in quick play is that you can super jump and Rez at the same time so I know 5 metres isn’t that much but I have been able to stand on the edge of high ground to still cast the Rez but something else is that while your rezzing you still can use angelic descent so if you tap it you can randomly slow down your fall just confusing the enemy of your movement
honest to god tho, those memes in your videos are amazing XD the part about the cast time hit home tbh bc countless of times I'd have to think about the cast time before popping valk, a lesson hard learned after losing people to the cast time :( amazing video as usual! sorry for the lack of imagination in my comments, i just think youre great :3
your guides are always so helpful, this was awesome!! 😊 thanks for showing the value in valk, i personally have tons of fun with damage boost and pistol in it, and flying around is so great. with all the people trashing it rn in favor of a rework or whatever i’m like 😢 plz let me keep it lol
What do you mean? Lol "Valkyrie is the worst and most useless ultimate in the game and you can't possibly get any value out of it and help your team at all." "#reworkmercy" 😅 No hate though. This proves that Mercy/Valk is still viable you just gotta know how to use it properly. Thanks for the guide!
Awesome video! Another helpful tip: Crouching while using Valk makes you fly downwards. Adding this to your movement set makes it even harder for people to hit you during your ult.
Great guide! I've been struggling to get more nuanced value out of my valk (especially since the ability is essential for current mercy's gameplay) so these are great tips
There was not one card/scene in this that was not hilarious. I love your guide-videos for how well put together and informative they are, but they are just so FUN to look at, too. (that Mercy being pursued by the entire Enemy team on foot in a previous video is still a favorite, but that Gamer-Zen is up there).
Lmaooo I clicked on the video to just listen to the first few seconds because guide videos are usually really boring but you kept me hooked the entire video. Well done👍
Most times on attack if we’re trying to make a push I’ll tell my team that once they get a pick I’ll valk to push. Also one time in a game i mainly damage boosted and let our Moira do most of the healing and I ended up with 3700 damage amplified. It’s really satisfying to see those high numbers lol
7:31 I love this! It's so true. Just recently I was falling down the edge and Mercy even committed to following down to shoot at me just to BM, and her valk ends and she FALLS TO HER DEATH. We took the point after as she respawned after me. Even more so do Moiras die/let their team die to go after me as Mercy. Most likely I'm not even the main healer so it's like bruh.
I usually try to heal with Valk when most of my team is Critical. The only exception is if a main or off tank is less than half health. Other than that, I use it for sneaky rezzes in the enemy backlines of damage boosting.
I damage boost a lot more often now. I used to heal everyone all the way back to full health even when I knew they were no longer a target and over a safe threshold. Heal only when I'm sure they're dead without it and when I know they'll be targeted. Instead of holding heal over an Orissa getting poked I try to keep boosting her until she's really in danger. Her getting a kill off of it or breaking a barrier is preferable.
Even though I don't main Mercy, I actually enjoyed this guide from the beginning to the very end. If I would ever main her, you and Sarah were my main source for learning! Also, Blizz really wants Valk to become an ability, eh?
If anyone reads this I'd like an answer: Does damage boost apply to all of your teammates the same way when you're using Valkyrie? And what is the max range for the "liink" to break?
Great vid and I actually didn’t know about the immediate health regen...just one question, lets say I was hit by Ashe dynamite and I was already low with no other healer nearby, I know I will die if I don’t get a health pack, but if I pop Valk my health will regenerate even if I was still taking damage from it? I could potentially save myself from dying to the DOT by using my ult?
Hi! I'm a Mercy main that would like a revert and i find your content amazing, your points of view on Mercy are very well thought out and even though i do not 100% agree with them i appreciate adding to the discussion. Aria Rose is quite... Toxic however some things she says i find right, I'll go through the discussion and try not to bring any hate into the mix. Feel free to reply and criticise me constructive criticism is always great! How it all started. 1. Mercy is a very problematic hero as some people like her now and some people also prefer her before the rework, before her buff which gave her invulnerability while resurrecting she was extremely weak and underpowered, she would most likely die while resurrecting and at one point she even had a cast timer to rez (it's quite old footage and i think it may have been in beta) Until one thing changed... The buff, all of a second out of nowhere she was meta and one of the most picked heroes. The buff was invulnerability and what was once a fairly weak hero with strong healing ability became one of the most popular heroes in the whole entire game. Also prior buff she was barely ever picked, you can see this by reading the statistics. After the buff. 2. It was common knowledge at this point that she was overpowered, many streamers where not a big fan and would spread misinformation about Mercy in the community, she was looked down upon for having "no skill" and requiring no or little aim. A type of Mercy gameplay was frowned upon and hated as-well, it was a Mercy not helping her team during the fight and going in later for a mass resurrection. This style was called "hide and rez" and was surprisingly not done as much as most people say, typically the team resurrected would lose the fight because they normally died in a worse position. The higher ranked Mercy's would just tempo-rez to keep the fight going. in my opinion it's a bit hypocritical that a reaper could hide to ult yet a Mercy couldn't, the ultimate showed that you shouldn't stack 6 or 5 ults and keep track of where that Mercy was, but after a while the devs decided for a revert... The new mercy. 3. The new mercy was truly something, with her previous ultimate as an "e" ability and her "new" special as valkyrie, her ult that was actually scrapped in beta. When she was first changed i loved these changes however i felt that her resurrection on "e" was a bit too much and needed a nerf, and that they did. She was slower while resurrecting and could insta-rez in valk, (with a free rez while ulting) I felt impactful using this ultimate as i could bring one person back with my slow rez, valk and get a fast rez aswell bringing back two people. I felt slightly overpowered and thought maybe she could go through a few more buffs or maybe a revert but instead of invulnerability give her an damage reduction. They decided on the nerf changing her to slow rez while valking and not get a free rez when you ulted. Although she was less fun i found her quite balanced, except from a few people and a certain someone. This is when a gold Mercy main Aria Rose came into the scene and gave her opinion on Mercy. Talking about being ignored in the forums and the toxicity to Mercy players. Her channel grew as the devs nerfed her more and more lowering her healing and continuing to nerf resurrect. Aria Rose. 4. The voice of the Mercy movement herself with the amount of 128k subscribers, popular for her controversial opinion on Mercy and constant "toxicity" to others, as someone who used to support her all i can say is sorry. Sorry for every single thing the Mercy community has ever said or done that came off as rude. Sorry if you've ever been shammed by the community for not agreeing with us. But please understand a lot has happened and a lot of views have changed. I stopped supporting her once the raid began, saying it would be no toxicity is dumb and it achieved nothing only time outs and bans. I believe that everyone should get an opinion on Mercy wether you play her or not as she may seem good in some people eyes but that isn't the thing. It's fun, i don't feel very impactful playing her, i have two different opinions on how she could change although i'm ok with her at the moment i don't mind change here are my ideas. My ideas 5. If you actually cared enough to read this thanks, these are my ideas on how to make maybe a slightly more balanced version of mercy. One shall be reverted but with changes and the other shall be reworked once again as i already find this Mercy quite balanced but not as fun as the prior Mercy. Reverted idea. Turn her ultimate back to normal, make her healing back to normal, remove invulnerability from her ultimate and give her a cast time of two seconds. Give her an "e" ability called medical magic where she takes 30% less damage for 3-5 seconds and it has a 14 second cooldown time, she can use this ultimate to get away or maybe to survive a bit longer but she has to be careful not to waste it. Because she should typically use it while ulting to protect her so she won't die straight away while resurrecting. This also comes with a disadvantage. As while using this ability her halo and wings will glow showing the enemy team her position making her an easy kill if the team focuses her. If you have any ideas for this ability please let me know! Reworked idea. I saw a great video for a revert and i thought instead of me explaining it you can watch the video, ruclips.net/video/fkRKMsnD2fM/видео.html I hope you enjoyed my discussion on Mercy feel free to give your criticism and add feedback just please keep it positive as i do not wish hate on anyone and believe everyone should have a point of view :)
Great stuff. I'm constantly trying to push myself to use Damage Boost more. It's a delicate balance. I'm typically damage boosting about 10% of my healing value in any given game (e.g. 10k healing would mean 1k damage boosted) This seems like the most I can do without losing people when I'm running with an off-healer. But, as you said, I can get that up to 20% when we have another main healer. What are your values typically like, by comparison?
Is having GA prefers Beam Target off a very good choice or is it terrible? I personally like it but I don’t want to keep having it on in case it will screw me over in the future.
This was such a well made video and I learnt something, even tho I thought I know them all (for example pressing Q thr whole time and it will activate as soon as you have your ultimate) I hope I will be able to use them in comp as well :) But I have one question; I tried to figur out how to safe the last minute with your program for a while now but I was never able to find either a tutorial or figure it out myself. (3:32 for exmple) Maybe you could help me out with that? c: Anyways, have an amazing day and I am really thankful for those tipps!
Niandra, do you have a video that covers rez priorities? I know it's kind of noobish to ask, but I feel like that's kind of a weakness for me when I play Mercy
This is a pretty good valkyrie guide but It's not changing my mind about valkyrie. I hate valkyrie with a passion as all it does is make mercy easier to play and does nothing but buff her entire kit. It's the reason why I agreed with #reworkmercy and I'd be down to rework orisa's ult as well. And I feel happy for the torb mains who had their rework as well as they've now got an ult that doesn't buff their kit.
I was on hanamura attaking point B. It was a 3 vs 2 and I decided to pop valk so I could help my team. The moment I did a random rein from the heavens charged me into the wall that was directly next to me. We ended up losing the game because of that one charge. Could I have done anything different to stay alive and win the game?
I was solo healing as mercy in total mayhem and enemy Winston just wanted nothing more than to kill me It made things slightly harder for me? But since cooldowns are reduced I could fly away way faster and I got ult faster from damage boosting allies with low cooldowns so he basically threw just trying to kill me And he killed me one (1) time ...So later I killed him while he was on low health behind enemy lines
Nice guide. I wish the valk mode stops anti-nade, removes discord, stops cc and awaken those ana put to sleep and protects them from sleep and even more healing through her wings..

My ideas
I saw a great video for a revert and i thought instead of me explaining it you can watch the video, ruclips.net/video/fkRKMsnD2fM/видео.html
I hope you enjoyed my discussion on Mercy feel free to give your criticism and add feedback just please keep it positive as i do not wish hate on anyone and believe everyone should have a point of view :)
And that’s FUCKING GOOD SHET!!
Love your vids! Keep it up
The little Mercy Monopoly Man :)
It's when you're in the middle of the enemy team about to fly up and then you get stunned pinned grav'd and etc
please make more mercy videos like this!! 🙂🙂
What are your values typically like, by comparison?
first step. know that your ult is like the only support ult that can easily be countered with the littiest of burst damage
Please become the new superman leader of the Mercys
I just found out your channel! thanks for this post

"longer beam length may also enable you to go for a rez that's *Phara* away"
I see what you did there.
love your vods! srry i missed the stream :D
Is having GA prefers Beam Target off a very good choice or is it terrible? I personally like it but I don’t want to keep having it on in case it will screw me over in the future.
I wish Valk res was more flexible while casting. Flying just out of range is such a pain
really nice educational with some happy spirit :P
good video, mercy is gonna be a huge buff to reaper if they’re on the same team.
Your images edition are the best XD
Luv the vid tks
This was such a well made video and I learnt something, even tho I thought I know them all (for example pressing Q thr whole time and it will activate as soon as you have your ultimate)
I hope I will be able to use them in comp as well :)
But I have one question;
I tried to figur out how to safe the last minute with your program for a while now but I was never able to find either a tutorial or figure it out myself. (3:32 for exmple) Maybe you could help me out with that? c:
Anyways, have an amazing day and I am really thankful for those tipps!
Are you referring to the recording software? I use Nvidia shadowplay and have Instant Replay turned on to save last X minutes
Niandra Yes, thank you! This fully answered my question! :)
Niandra, do you have a video that covers rez priorities? I know it's kind of noobish to ask, but I feel like that's kind of a weakness for me when I play Mercy
Hey niandra do you still do vod reviews? Id like to send gameplay in if you still do
I'm a consol player. For mercy, what does space bar do that cancels a rez in valk?
it's the lil jump you do during guardian angel
This was a great video! Thanks!
Thank you for everything!! Great video! I hope I'll get higher rank in this season :D
So one time I accidently ulted during Sigma's ult (I was stuck in the ult) imidiate death-
why would they demonetize you
Do you think mercy should be buffed?
I was on hanamura attaking point B. It was a 3 vs 2 and I decided to pop valk so I could help my team. The moment I did a random rein from the heavens charged me into the wall that was directly next to me. We ended up losing the game because of that one charge. Could I have done anything different to stay alive and win the game?
What if during valk mercy could heal like lucio while she goes for a Rez but just smaller radius
Thanks for making this!
Who i like to kill as mercy in valk,
1. Widow
2. Ashe
3. Zen
4. Pharah
5: torb
w8, infinite ammo when in valk? Didn't they remove that? O.O
I don’t get why damage boost helps dragon blade. Won’t 200 hp hero die from two slash regardless?
I was solo healing as mercy in total mayhem and enemy Winston just wanted nothing more than to kill me
It made things slightly harder for me? But since cooldowns are reduced I could fly away way faster and I got ult faster from damage boosting allies with low cooldowns so he basically threw just trying to kill me
And he killed me one (1) time
...So later I killed him while he was on low health behind enemy lines
Mercy's damage boost in Valk is nasty. Sometimes it feels like turning on a garbage disposal if your DPS are good lol
Just me or do others feel super badass when they already do a tip shown in the video?
Nice guide. I wish the valk mode stops anti-nade, removes discord, stops cc and awaken those ana put to sleep and protects them from sleep and even more healing through her wings..
who do you play if someone else plays mercy?
Mercy doesnt do that connection thing with her ult now days does she?
Ur vids help alot thx
Finally!!! Thank you,
10:32 me every single time.
How do you feel about making a beginners guide?
Oo that could be pretty fun!! What sort of stuff did you have in mind for it?
Hey niandra will you be streaming soon?
I'll either stream tonight or tomorrow night!
