    Baseball was so cool back then. They played to play and just about everyone could afford to go to the games.

      @@dutdut2.052 Today's players are very good at hitting juiced-up baseballs over short fences.

    This dude could make more doing this, than playing MLB in the 1930?! Shows how little they were paid. Another amazing trick show is "The Indianapolis Clowns"

    I just read about Jackie Price in the book, Borchert Field by Bob Buege and had to search for video of him. I was not disappointed.

    his name is jackie price, his career was 7 games with the cleveland indians in 1946. not sure why this says "1930's". jackie suffered from depression and killed himself at the age of 54 in 1967.

    Who is this pitcher? Thanks.

    • @FerdinandCesarano
      @FerdinandCesarano 7 лет назад +3

      He is Jackie Price. He was not a pitcher, but a shortstop when he played it straight.
      Price had a long minor-league career, and made a few appearances in the Majors with the Cleveland Indians in 1946. But, as the clip says, he found that he could make more money doing tricks than playing baseball.

      good thing i read your comment cuz i was about to tell my coach "hey coach have you seen the pitcher who can throw 3 baseballs at once? he must have been one of the greats."
      his tricks are great though!

      Veeck writes about him quite a bit in Veeck as in Wreck, called him an artist, which he was. Price used a snake for a belt. Unique guy.
