My theory is that....MC just lost the power and she can't sense Zayne's presence and the power from the tree like she used to anymore - hence why when they first met, Zayne was caught by surprise that she could see the tree. Probably he took away her power or maybe..did something with all that umbrellas and the snow so when she went to sleep, her power stabilize? so she could live a normal life and no longer a 'variable'. I would go with the fact that Zayne is pretty much there (that's why the snow doesn't melt. The snow will stay frozen as long as he's alive - this is in the main storyline too. the ice seal he made for MC will never melt. idk if this will make it hurt a lot less, but I don't think he's completely 'gone'. Just not meant to be together, cause they need to save MC ass everytime. :

Imagine Zayne to watch her grief his absence and not be able to help her.... Another Myth with a lifetime of sadness and lifetime of things he wants and won't get. I know that when there is a curse there is a solution as well but why does Zayne always choose to sacrifice himself? I understand that he loves her and wants her to have a happy life but without him there is no happy life. Why not for once stand his ground and try to even live with her without one of them dying or sacrificing themselves? As the Forseer he was cursed to live forever, fall in love with her then see her die again and again to the point where he had more than 10k lives etc that he sacrificed himself so she can live. Here he is a God where either he sacrificed his life by stabilizing her powers and protecting the Sacred Tree with all those umbrellas or he stabilized her powers to the point that in her current life to need the Aether Core to be wholesome again and in this process he yet again sacrificed his heart and love for her so the tree could be protected, balance to be around (since he was the God of Ying and Yang) and watched her go again.... Why the Devs decided to torture our Zayne like this? It's a freaking mystery... All men have tough Myths full of loss and angst but Zayne's seems to be top 1 in all of them. Even now I am 80% sure that Zayne somehow has memories from some previous lives he had and knows that his future with her is untouchable that's why in this lifetime he decided to have a relationship with her but at the same time he already decided not to let her get hurt again etc, in the chapter I'm currently playing she saw him leaving for Mt. Eternal whilst she obtained the Aether Core, what will be his reaction when he realises that her having the Core might bring some sort of apocalypse sooner rather than later? Yeah Xavier and Rafael helped her, Rafael might not fully grasp what will happen to her with a full Aether Core inside of her like Sylus , Zayne and Xavier knows. Xavier helped her believing that this will help her etc and at some points he is correct, Sylus although he wanted her to get it once she did it was like a tick tack bomb clock started to ring, whilst Zayne is oblivious for the actions of her since he is in the Artic... I hope she won't become a monster like that old dude in this lore said and I really hope by getting the Aether Core for her to start remembering some of her previous lives so she can understand Zayne's sacrifices a bit more. I also hope Zayne won't need to kill her to save the world, if this scenario happens Zayne won't survive. Sorry for the huge text
