Oh I can’t wait to hear what you think of ACOTAR! I said I would never ever read it and then my coworker convinced me to pick it up with her a couple months ago and I’m still not sure what my thoughts are overall 😅 The TBR readathon sounds so fun! I hope you loooove Red Rising - amazing series!
Yes to ACOTAR! 😅. I agree in that you should reach book 2 to really get into the romance plot. Book 2 is actually my favorite book in the series. Good luck!
Red Rising is going to blow your mind. If you read the first book and its not everything you wanted in a sci fi, the second book is where the series takes off and becomes a fully fledged sci fi classic. Good luck!
I didn’t connect with ACOTAR, but I love that you’re giving it a chance! The Godfather I & II movies are chef’s kiss good. I hope you love everything you read this month! 😊
The Legend of Black Jack sounds really dope. I've also wanted to read red rising for a very long time. Everyone says I'd like it too. Goodluck with A Court of Thorns and Roses. 😆 Nice Video!
Awesome plans Theo! My eyes did roll, but I admire you for trying ACOTAR. You’re a better man than me lol. I’ve been wanting to try some Don Winslow. I hear a lot of good things.
Heck yes, I am so excited for the readathon, it's gonna be a blast! When I heard you say on Laura's Love Bomb that you were open to trying ACOTAR I just about squealed, I am so excited to hear your thoughts. And you know, I think you might really be pleasantly surprised by how much fun you will have. It honestly has a similar 'just one more chapter' vibe that Will of the Many has as well, so at least there's that! And ooooh yes bby, I hope you enjoy Red Rising!! Happy reading, Theo 🤩🤩
I finished ACOTAR the day before yesterday. I had already read it once when i was 15, but the only thing i remembered from that time is that i liked it ok, but not enough to read book 2. This time around i was surprised how much i enjoyed it. It's not a new favorite, but i had a great time. I hope you will too!
I have been trying to prioritize the books I have had sitting around the longest, so I understand picking up some you have had sitting for a while. Call of the Wild is a good quick read. :) I have Black Jack in ebook format, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I have heard good things though! I am going to be re-reading Red Rising in September, along with books 2 and 3. :) Best of luck on your TBR!! I just posted my TBR this morning. Happy reading! :)
I applaud you trying ACOTAR, since it’s outside your comfort zone. It’s going to be an interesting examination of literature that has gained a cult like following. Even if the book or series isn’t for you, I think you can still appreciate the impact on modern readers.
Theo, promise me that if you’re reading Call of the Wild, you read White Fang. 🙏🏻 they’re both excellent, but White Fang is one of my favorite books of all time!

Glad to have you in the readathon!! I tried to read Sarah J Maas other series Crescent City and it's the only book I've ever dnf. But if you want to read a romantasy that's closer to traditional epic fantasy Try A Fate Inked In Blood.
I loved Red Rising but I didn't keep going with series, which is a bad habit of mine. 🤣 Can't wait to hear your thoughts on ACOTR. I haven't read it and surprisingly have no desire to try it. 😬
My August TBR: «The Green Angel Tower part 1 & 2» (Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, #3) by Tad Williams (Epic Fantasy) «Leviathan Falls» (The Expanse, #9) by James S.A. Corey (Space opera) «The Thousandfold Thought» (The Prince of Nothing #3) by R. Scott Bakker (Grimdark/Dark Epic Fantasy)
Love the TBR man! hyped to see what you think of RR! I read power of the dog by Don Winslow and it's probably gonna be my book of the year, it's a masterpiece!
I had added that one on my TBR before realizing this recommendation was the same dude. I think I would try that book next, maybe after this trilogy or something 🤙🏻
I read my first Don Winslow (The Force) a couple months ago and it was a compelling gritty crime novel, quite the page turner. Definitely excited to hear thoughts on City on Fire, I picked it up and hope to get to it soon.
Hi Theo. Jack London and Call of the Wild is part of the reading curriculum from my schooldays in Maryland. I enjoyed it. I still have over half of GoT by GRRM to finish in August. I've had personal and family health issues to battle. Not sure what I'll rea after. I'm being drawn into the world of Westeros, but I don't want to follow one 800= page novel with another one as big or bigger. Happy reading.
ACOTAR is one of my favorite series of all time. Book 2 and 5 are some of my top favorite books I’ve ever read. I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts and hope you like it!
I recently read my first Winslow (Winter of Frankie Machine) because of Yolanda from Storytoob so I'm psyched to read more of him. I haven't finsihed these yet so they're carrying over into August: *Comics* Sandman Volume 1 (re-read) Preacher Volume 1 (re-read) *Grimdark Fantasy* Aspect-Emperor 2: White-luck Warrior (re-read) - I'm only 2 chapters in. There is so much LotR, Blood Meridian, the Dune sequels, ASOIAF in here as well as the biblical overtones Bakker loves to embed. Also a lot more Horror in this series than in Prince of Nothing. *Sci-Fi* Cloud Atlas / David Mitchell - I'm enjoying taking my time with this. *Western* Streets of Laredo / Larry McMurtry
I've read jACK London 35 or 36 years ago. I think the book in english is called White Fang; Next month (August) I will read Morning Star. The series is not great, it's good.Since this year, I also read romances. I am looking for a good book from this area. Now I have Through My Window by Ariana Godoy. I want to say that the female character is much worse (in a positive sense) than in the movie. The movie is much better than the book. Good luck with ACATAR. I will probably read it at some point.

🤞🏻🤞🏻I ended up picking up Stormlight finally on a whim but RR will be soon!!
I find reading widely always helps keep the reading experience fresh! I hope you adore Red Rising as much as I do. Happy August reading!
Thanks, Will!! This is definitely going to be a “fresh” month. Lots of variety in genre and length, so we will see how this goes 🤙🏻🙌🏻
