Article 13 may have a more detrimental effect on RUclips and the internet than you may think. In this video, let's briefly explain Article 13 and what you can do to help shape the laws based on it.

The people that are voting for this have good intentions but they don't know about the consequences such as what will happen with youtube and all that. It's good for people like song writers but for us content creaters it's uuuh... Yeah it's not looking to good for us. We just need to speak up and do someeething about this.
Remember the ones that are voting for this didn't know how much damage it would cause.
Just to be clear, Article 13 is a good thing, but forcing platforms to be liable for copyright infringements of their users is not. Platforms like RUclips and Twitter already do their best to compensate for and/or take down content that belongs to others from the accounts of bad actors through systems like Content ID. This is much better than straight out blocking viewers and creators in the long run in the European Union, and probably soon, the world. The law is being written, and it is still too vague. Let's hope we can help those involved understand the consequences of strict laws which could even block works of parody and education. Let's not forget the memes (which are inherently difficult to define).

Prod does that mean my batim animation memes will get blocked? Does that also mean anyone even Meatly will get blocked, even jacksepticeye or even my twitter account with fanart will get blocked? That's very scary, and I don't want that to happen to anybody.
If you are in the countries of the EU union, you will be blocked from seeing and creating your favourite content based on copyrighted works (E.g., let's plays and music covers/fan songs)
Yes - UK will keep the laws and either leave them in place or redefine them, which would take more time.

this will especially be terrible for growing content creators (or people who plan on becoming creators) who can barely make a living, I believe this law could cause many people to quit youtube, making it harder to survive. this kind of stuff scares me as much as tarantulas (my worst fear).

The only thing I’m okay with is Til Tok getting destroyed. Everything else would be the end of the internet.
I will have to do more research on this, but from what I gather, it sounds like if these new laws are put in effect then RUclips will pretty much become useless considering that something like having merch you bought in the background will automatically block this video. I do believe that a better job could be done on youtubers stealing other youtubers content but that’s a different rant for a different day. But just plain blocking a video will not solve the problem especially if it’s not directly affecting the copywrited item and is something like a review or something like that. Again I will have to do more research but thank you for informing me Prod.
What can replace RUclips? I can't think of a better app to watch videos.

Any app you can think of where someone can post music covers, works of parody, educational content, memes and more will be affected. The entire internet is under the reins of this law

RUclips would have to comment on that. So far, they have predicted a straight out block of EU accounts, so no one will be able to see or create videos in the Countries of the EU union

bacicly a law that i'm poses stricter copyright laws basically meaning that any content not owns by the uploader can be deleted. no repeal. this includes branding "so if you make a video . with a coke bottle in the background -gone" gaming gone, reviews gone. your profile picture gone. its bad heavy handed and stripes the internet of all freedom.
in addition they have a "link tax" so if you send a link you have to pay for permission.

Honestly, copyright is one of the more stupid things we've invented.
Its invented since long ago. Like what's the solution when 2 or more people claim that they're the one who made an art or music or things like that? But copyright also have this "expired date" so you could recreate a similar stuff but still credit the person who originally made them

I read too much about copyright because I myself didn't really like it that much but the history is quiet something. Back then we really need it & we still need it now because when someone make something original at least others can't claim they're the one who made it but still could use it or see it & stuff. I... Should stop seeing documentaries... But its hard when you had to literally study about it 😐
