With the addition of our first S rank Defense unit, this might mean that future enemies is going to be more aggressive and potentially can one hit kill. I can already see signs of it with the 1.1 new elite rampant brute that deal almost half of nicole's hp in one hit in their shocked state. Sure you can dodge it or parry it, but one mistake can cost you your life, especially so since ZZZ doesn't have any healers like Genshin and HSR. Having a shielder would mean that you don't have to bare the consequence of making a mistake as often and basically play in easy mode.
I think they said somewhere they are planning to add a healer category of agents, but I could be wrong, take it with a meteor of salt

If the core gameplay just boils down to mash and dodge, things would be pretty stale. Incoming units should spice up the formula. However, it would be disappointing if that spice just comes from defense units.
@@hiramjackson8322 well to be fair we are not even 3 months into the game so I wouldn't expect it to have a completely set in stone combat mechanics, especially for the kind of game it is. I mean is a game like wukong came out with combat mechanics that seemed unfinished it would be a bad game, but since zzz is a gacha it means that the combat it's gonna evolve around new characters and new updates. With that said I think that even if the healing part was brought with the defense unit it wouldn't be too bad, as a player you can clearly distinguish a character meant to heal from a character meant to shield regardless of his description, just like reading the kit you understand if a character is off field or on field.
best analogy for caeser will be zhongli on steroid, insane buffs, insane shielding, prevents you from taking any dmg essentially, interuption resistance, stun that matches top tier stun units and has non negligiable personal dmg as a crt dmg dealer and also can use anamoly set for jane team, her own set also gives dmg bonus to entire team. Personally they might nerf her before release but i dont want that to happen ngl
1000 atk buff which bennet from genshin gives an atk buff between 1000-1200 atk pre much shes busted

that’s nice and all but for my case Burnice’s banner (with Lucy and Nicole) and the fact that I dont have S11 or Koleda makes her more reasonable for now, Seth was already a reasonable partner for Jane(also same faction)
maybe if I was past 50/50 it would be a harder choice but I’m at 50/50 0-pity so there’s more pulls-before-guarantee to get Lucy/Nicole dupes, Ceasar seems very promising and she’ probably gonna be future proof, man why did they have to put Anton in the banner

I'm still thinking of who to pick but I am leaning more towards Ceasar tbh. The utility is just so good. It's true that Burnice is pretty unique right now, it's pretty much 100% indicated on the new disc drive that we will have another off field anomaly which is electric. So I think it's also a good thing to consider if you really need an off-field now or either skip her and just go for Ceasar and go for the next electric off field anomaly.

While this is true, I would like to point out the difference between Fire Anomaly and Electric Anomaly.
They mostly work the same, but Burn works like a standard DoT where as Shock needs to be retriggered by attacking the enemy.

@josetomasrivera5782 Proccing Burn, Shock, or Corruption Anomaly causes enemies to take damage over time, for a period of 10 seconds.
Shock and Corruption must be activated by taking damage from an ally, where as Burn simply does damage on its own with no further input required

You explained this so perfectly. I agree with pretty much everything. I thought about some of this already, but you really broke it down in a way for me to think about it more. As an example, I was already considering skipping Caesar for Burnice, and you actually made that sound even more rational. Now I am definitely pulling for her, but I definitely think that Caesar is a really solid character, especially when you compare gameplay styles. We've all got our different combat flavors, so she is a very good pick for people even without her w-engine just because her base utility is already so strong--but the w-engine issue is a huge downside for her.
My only worry is what we get for 1.3. Thankfully, by the time Burnice banner rolls around, we'll have all the information necessary most likely other than a livestream which I can easily wait on before pulling. I am copium for a possible Yanagi banner, so am trying to make sure I can pull her. This is less me strategy pulling like I've been doing so far and purely waifu pulling, but you gotta have one, right? The benefit is I can see her kit by then, and make an informed decision. She might end up actually adding value, but I already know all the places I can put Burnice, and that makes her a very attractive character just purely on gameplay. I also love her design probably the most in the game right now. Might just pull for her anyway, but we'll see

If her drive disc is any prediction of what’s to come it’s highly likely that Yanagi is off field Electric Anomaly. Otherwise the set makes no sense since it seems designed for off field fire and electric anomaly and Grace is not off field. But I could be wrong.
@@chimezie7you're indeed somewhat wrong. The V1 of the set was only fire DMG. They changed to electric and fire for Grace and Burnice teams, since there are no good sets for Grace on a burnice team (shock set the enemy needs to be shocked)
Yeah, there might be a electric unit in the future, but for now this changes até specifically for grace
@@GuuiDomingues Grace is on field so the new set is not better for her than Freedom Blues. Also the very few leaks we have on Yanagi make it seems she is more on the supportive side of Anomaly more so than Burnice. We’ll see in a couple of days but I’m certain it’s for Yanagi and not Grace.
I think the main issue with defense role is the way that Hoyo design endgame content.
Playing their other games and seeing how they design Shiryu Defence, the way they make it more difficulty is by giving a lot of HP to enemies so it becomes more a DPS check then anything.
If they would change this to make the enemies hit harder and be more aggro instead, that's when the defense role would shine.

@@cookiewithlove2081 100% agree. I won't be pulling until then unless I get some lucky master tapes for standard banner, so the Burnice banner is incredibly attractive. I already want her character more, and I have M5 Nicole and (after the free Lucy)M4 Lucy, so that will be an incredible banner to pull on. I use both of these supports in one team right now, and I already have multiple ideas of where to put Burnice and how she can fit in to both of my main teams (Jane and S11 are my 2 main DPS). Banner is absurdly good

The fact that her shield provides Interruption Res and prevents dmg overflow allow slower onfield unit to have a place(like corin, piper, ... who doesnt really want to dodge as their animation has such long wind up). Also they will make more and more aggresive enemy in the future so def units stonk will definitely rise in the future ( imagine enemy like the new brute boss, shadow jane....)

I feel, as far as future potential is concerned, we're already seeing signs of this potential. In shiyu defense, there is a new S-rank condition that focuses on survival over DPS.

@@GeoffKhylieCarlos if you're not trolling he's the final member of the sons of calydon. He has sunglasses and they briefly show him in some of the last few trailers and he can be found in game outside the w-engine store and somewhere else I believe.
I'm at hard pity for 5* character after losing 50/50 and couldn't get Jane. Definitely pulling Caesar and hoping to get Burnice in their banner respectively
Caesar can daze, provide a shield with Anti-Interrupt for characters with long combo strings or slow attacks like Ellen, prevent 1 Hit KO's, gather trash, is more or less team agnostic... I'm betting on Caesar as the winner, here. I'll pull for her.

I definitely think Caesar is going to be a sleeper pick for a character that will make harder endgame modes much more manageable and comfy. With her potential buffing output, I think she's going to age well all things considered, but we'll have to see when they hit live
Bottom line is wether theyre b much better supports/defenders in the near or far future her shield alone is such a big plus for more laid back playstyle that even stronger units wont negate her useage completely, she ll always have a spot in a team

In terms of value - compared to Burnice, Caesar definitely has potential to support weaker DPS chars like Corin. If you like to pull for waifu/husbando she will likely make future A ranks viable in Shiyu with the relevant elemental weaknesses. A ranks usually suffer compared to S ranks in terms of QoL or ease of use, even at high dupes (eg. Billy)
Rn the F2P option for Caesar is superstar wengine for impact% ability
It's unclear if Burnice will not get powercrept by other off field anomaly units (yanagi) so it might not be a safer bet.
But from the love in the animations and her design, I can't imagine Hoyo powercreeping her anytime soon.

Im pulling for both Ceasar offers more value/utility then any unit but I plan on having every limited character in the game nobody left behind!!!
Personally i'm shilling for Caesar. Defense characters struggle with an identity because they aren't as good at stunning as stunners, and they aren't as good at supporting as supporters, and the defensive tools and shields they give do not seem to matter. HOWEVER! (and i'm at the 13 minute mark so you'll probably touch on this as soon as I resume :P ) - Hoyoverse always - ALWAYS - (always) - tailors content to focus on the strengths of new characters to make them more appealing. Right now, defensive kits are not seen as valuable because enemies either do not hit hard enough, or they are easy to dodge/counter. I fully expect that content will change (either new content or changes to existing content) that will make defense characters important.
Finally, non-DPS characters are always rarer and harder to find. Even this early into the game's lifespan, we got 3 DPS (Ellen, Zhu Yuan, Jane Doe), and only one non-DPS (stun) character in Qingyi. This banner is adding ANOTHER damage-dealing character in Burnice, and our first S-Rank defense character. Who knows how long it will be before we get another S defense character? It's hard to say, but I can promise you 100% that the banner AFTER this will have another damage-dealer.

Tried to get Seth, got a random Soldier 11 so now I’m set for a guaranteed Caesar/Burnice
one thing u forgot to mention which why i think its so sneaky of them to put caesar in the first half , cuz if u have ceaser in ur team and maybe lucy/rina in the last slot u will not get Jane core since it needs same faction or another anomaly unit , so if u pulling for ceaser u prob have to pull burnice but not the other way
I don’t think you need bernice for caesar. Her core passive is pretty easy to trigger since it’s not class locked. She’s quite universal in terms of usefulness. Jane certainly doesn’t need her when you have seth.
@@Spookie24 u need bernice for jane core if u gone use caeser , and jane core is very important, and seth vs caesar is not even comparable , im just saying it feels abit wrong to sneak something like that cuz people who pull on caeser without knowing or thinking ahead will lose out of jane core or be forced to use grace/piper in the team
I got Seth/Lucy all build up, in reality I don’t need these two in my Jane team.

@@mohamedsaid2227 jane doesn’t need caesar. Seth gives her enough defensive support and buffing. Her core teams don’t require caesar. If you only care about jane’s core passive piper, grace, seth can fill the requirement. Your third slot can be other supports. Plus it’s not sneaky at all? Caesar and bernice don’t need to be played together to function. It’s unfortunate if you want to pull for both, but they certainly don’t need each other.

The problem with Caesar is she's a jack of all trades, master of none.
In the long term, these characters are gonna be replaced with a specialist.
Also, res/def shred are much more valuable than dmg/atk buff in the long term.
Caesar gains shred in her mindscape, if you're willing to dolphin/whale
She's not a jack of all trades. She's a master of defense with EXTRA PERKS.
Master of none ? I mean sure they may make better atk buffer but right now she is a master of all.
Alot of people overlook the most hyped aspect of her kit, her anti interupt shield, her buffs/debuffs will most definetly fall short of upcoming units that r specifically designed for those roles but that shield that lets u facetank all the upcoming damage without worrying about anything will always b helpful in modes like shyiu defense

Definitely going for caesar for long run though Bernice design is nicer but utility wise and with zzz there is no shielder up til now. She will be a game changer for alot of low spender or f2p. For whales idt she will be that good tbh

I’m sold in the Sons of Calydon, the whole squad looks fun as heck. Since I saw Caesar on the launch trailers I knew I was going to go deep for her, will get Burnice too to pair with Caesar/Jane Doe
In my opinion, if you have Jane Doe, it increases the importance and effectiveness of pulling Bernice. I would even say that if you have Jane, pulling Bernice is a must.
Otherwise, if you don't have Jane Doe, there is probably no point to pulling Bernice, and it is better to turn to Caesar. But it is also possible not to pool anyone

@@KumaOso16 yea that works for that team to just keep rotating between character but I personally don’t like that play style. Part of the reason why I got Jane Doe so I can have a Dps anomaly character and why I’ll get Bernice since she’ll just help with my Jane

I feel like caesar will have the loucha treatment in the future. At first people treated loucha like a god, but a little later they put huo huo on the table, and loucha was already outshined, and then just to finish him more, they made a 4* character named galagher, who did the same job of loucha, but better. So i think caesar just for being the first shielder, will fall in the same whole, the devs are testing grounds with the support stuff.
I dont know why but i see Burnice somehow as a Topaz who is atm maybe not the strongest but will go up in value with every other anomaly unit released since shes a off field anomaly user which means u should be able to trigger anomalys very easy since she stacks up the bar from offield and when u want to activate it (for example right after janes Aussault) u only need to switch her in and hit 1 time. So u should have maxed out anomaly damage without permanently watching the circle and time the debuffs like crazy. At least thats how i understand her kit. Ceasar on the other side needs more testing, i will wait and check how strong her shields really are compared to the enemys we will fight, and also how good her buffs are and so on. She will definitly be much stronger then Seth or Ben.
Thing I learned from Genshin: Supports/SupDPSs are much much more important for endgames than main DPSs, unless they are Neuvilette. I'll go for Caesar.

I still use a lot of sub dps in genshin. And i dont use my zhongli though. Genshin is always kinda easy anyway
Burnice's design has my heart, also other then Ben I have no fire units so for me her being a fire unit is a plus.
I really like Burnice but I lost my 50/50 for Jane and don’t think she’s worth getting now. I really don’t know what to do. I dislike Piper and I’ve done enough research to know she’s actively detrimental for Soldier and vice versa. Is she even worth getting? I can’t clear SD17 yet so I still care about legitimate investment over getting favorites. Any recommendations?
Does Caesar's attack buff stack with Lucy's Cheer On attack buff? That's the main thing I'm trying to figure out right now.
Attack buffs are based off the attack value going in. Attack buffs are additive, not stackable.

@@jeffkoenig7402I think both should be able to be active at once, but they’ll both be calculated off the base atk in question. Like Lucy’s buff isn’t going to be calculated into Caesar’s when it triggers second or vice versa.
@@EYang-hl6hv yeah, both active is what I was looking for when I said "stack".
While it might be nice to have, say, Caesar's attack buff amplify the DPS' attack rating after Lucy's has been applied, the real thing I was trying to get at was whether it even makes sense to run both on the same team.
Doubling up on current attack buffers (Lucy and Soukaku, for example) doesn't have great faction/element synergy so I haven't tested it.

Since I didn't get zhu yuan, I didn't pull for any of the pubsec characters. So I will definitely pull for one of these

I don't have Lycaon and I feel Caesar will be a quite good replacement over Anby. That's not why I'm pulling... her future value with Burnice and current value with Nekomata (who wants stun, maximum field time and anomaly phys buildup) and Piper (she face tanks damage when she spins) is unrivaled. That's to say nothing of any other characters that will come up later.

That being said, Burnice is waaay more hype than Caesar.
Hey, I got Jane with her weapon. She is super busted good. Do you think I should try to get another copy of her or go for Cesar? The second copy seems to boost her damage by a good deal.
I think Caesar is going to be good value for f2p or low spenders because she will work well with Corin, and Anton that need protection when using their skills.
My first team has been S11/Piper/Lucy and was able to S clear Disputed node. I'm thinking about switching it up and maybe pull for both to either replace or swap between Piper and Lucy. 🤔

Was aiming for Burnice, but got Caesar's W-Engine out of nowhere on 50 Pity. Meanwhile I got Caesar's banner down to 20 pulls left. Currently contemplating about my life's choices :')

I’m more casual about ZZZ and pull off design and waifus….so Caesar is a must pull because she’s my WIFE
I grabbed ceaser just in case we go down the tension path and a shriller becomes Dan near mandatory just like zhongli in genshin

Got over 100 pulls, and guaranteed Caesar, might as well get Burnice as well
Burnice just makes more sense for my account, but just staring at Caesar for two weeks is going to require some serious, serious resolve.
Caesar's greatest strength is also her greatest weakness. Jack of all trades/role compression. If you're playing for the "now" of it all, she's great. Because there is literally no other physical role except DPSes (Atk+Anomaly). Maybe ZZZ's value for role compression is greater since there's only 3 teammates + Bangboo. But for the most part, her value is her convenience.
I think she's somewhere between GI's Zhongli and HSR's Silverwolf. She could be as good as Zhongli as the ultimate comfy character who gives great support on almost any team, or Silverwolf who was great initially but value lessened as time went on. I still use SW to this day, but boy did the game outgrow her.

Meta-wise, I'd go with Caesar.
Burnice will for sure be a premier disorder-based anomaly unit, but in the hardest content (I don't mean shiyu defense, I mean EA11 hollow and such), the traditional dps simply scale better and Caesar works well with most dps.
But if your goal is just to clear Shiyu defense, you can go with whoever suit your fancy. You can clear Shiyu with anyone comfortably with some moderate investment
atm you can also clear shiyu defense with soldier or nekomata, this is why caesar could be a better investment, pity that as always hoyo scammed us putting 2 great supports like lucy and nikole in burnice banner, while caesar only gets the crap
Burnice is hotter but I'm skipping Jane so Ceaser for my Soldier 11 + Lucy
Imagine Burnice being the Xiangling of ZZZ.
For a Jane team, both seem to be great for her. Even using both in a Jane team or just one of either seems to work, so I for me who's maining Jane and will for a long time, I would be fine with either one.

I think Caesar will be a priority for me. Due to my skill issue, i can deal passive damage already with my characters. Even My corin can destroy everyone. But i have trouble surviving... some characters need to complete their whole animations to deal max dmg, and it's very hard not to get hut sometimes. So yeah... Caesar is coming home 100% 😂 also new game mode be one shooting mfs already so i expect other future modes to just keep getting harder. Similar to HSR. Defense units tend to be rare too.
No reason for defense characters? They already have a mode where just surviving is the hardest part.

I feel like the shield and anti interruption that Caesar provides is kind of useless because this game is very easy to play and is very generous when it comes to dodge/parry windows so it isn't very hard to not get hit if you just pay attention to the obvious visual and sound cues, unless they just add a future enemy that has none of that and just one shots you lol.
im pulling for caesar purely because she has more potential down the line. burnice is more relevant for the meta right now aka with jane and anomaly based teams but caesar just screams future-proof AND i want the option to have a good generalist for practically any team i play + slot in any dps i want (lighter in particular, if he is a dps). burnice seems like a great pull for anyone who is into anomaly teams but rn neither jane or piper’s designs or kits really resonate with me that much so i doubt she would have much use on my account (but she will be amazing for jane havers).
From what I understand they just dropped bennet buff on caesar
I was gonna pull Caesar but change my mind to Burnice instead. Future 5* limited support will be strong buffer which will push Caesar out of the team
Exactly bro. She just looks good rn cuz we dont have any other limited 5* supports. But when it eventually comes out shes sure to be power crept. Would be better to invest for elemental coverage which will always come in handy. All the dps we have rn alrdy have great supports anyway. Ceasar is a losing banner
But future content might also need a defense character. A good example is Zhongli from Genshin. Early on he's not needed but these day, a lot of dps characters want his shield and interrupt resist. Burnice on the other hand, is just another dps, we literally just got another anomaly dps in Jane Doe.
@@ammarbaagu zzz combat is very different from genshin. Genshin doesn't have counter attack so dodging only means one thing, dps loss. ZZZ has dodge, counter, parry, which is rewarding and useful. We already have defensive shiyu mode which is a place for shield agent but I did it without shield.
I mean by that logic a future limited anomaly off field character will also push Burnice off, quicker probably. Burince only does dmg and increases burn effect, Caesar's buffs will work with future dps characters. Caesar has far more longevity.

off field dps are really hard to be replaced or powercrept.. simply vecause they are off field and dont compete much of the field time.. if there are future off field dps.. then its really not hard to run a team full main dps plus 2 off field dps really.
remember the time yelan was released?.. they just run xingqui + yelan + xiangling + hutao...

If I pull burnice cool, if not.. I'm not sweating it. Ceasar is our first S rank defense character. That's who I am going for. She is who I gotta have. We only have 2 defense agents so far, and they both bring strong mechanics to the teams their on.
Plus, I am a grown man. I don't base my decision on cartoon boobs. It's based on who I feel is going to bring my teams to the next level and push higher into end-game content. Another anomaly? Or another defense/ support to push my already strong characters further.

Don't have a physical team yet. I skipped Jane. All of my Physical Agents are DPS, Caesar can fill support and I don't have Piper.
I'm missing a third member for my fire team so Burnice is an easy choice.

I feel like if you have Jane Doe and don't have Grace, Burnice is almost a must-have, as it guarantees the very strong double anomaly team.
Conversely, if you don't have Jane Doe, I think Burnice's value drops, though she's still very good.
Grace isnt a good option, she requiert a lot time field compare to Burnice who she a off field agent

Utility/Buffer vs Off-field sub DPS
Currently I don’t have a dps character. I have anton and piper built but they are not best. Now should i pull for jane doe for dps ( with rina and seth) or should i go for burnice (for piper and lucy disorder team) which one is the best choice?
Caesar is good for F2P players, she is pretty much Zhongli

Shield and after burn is consider defensive/attack assist.The thing about Burnice she don't dealt physical damage and no annoying meter needs to fill and maintain
I think Caesar can provide value like Zhongli provide value to lesser skilled players or mobile players.
I have a team with c2 neko, piper and lucy with all their W engine. Im looking to swap neko with another dps option and was thinking of ceasar. Any opinion with a team composition of Ceasar, piper and lucy with ceasar potentially becoming a dps?

If Defense or Support Agents could possibly heal agents along with buffs then that would be good for Shiyu Defense in terms of survival instead of timed mission.
Shield = Heal but not that obvious.
