I am working on a Django project with a friend. He uses PC and I use Mac. Should we work on our project running on localhost or on Docker from the start, or when we are ready to deploy it for our client? (P/s: We are new developers, fresh out of bootcamp)
one question I had for example If I have multiple versions of the same web application /(or websites which run on same os) then I can deploy all of them on a single vm or in a docker. Only difference will be isolation in this scenario. Am I right to think so???

Creating a docker is intsalling the docker tool where as creating an environment is setting up the components of docker. components such as client, daemon, dockerfile, docker images, docker container

Also, When you install several Windows-es on several virtual machines, you need several Windows licenses, and so on. Hope that helps!
Hi First of all thanks for a nice intro on docker. I had a doubt in my mind, please clear it. If I want to run docker on windows how about the support for soft-wares like Redis DB for which no production version is available for windows can we still run it in docker. While in VMware we will be able to run it on same windows machine. If we cannot, I see it one advantage of VMware over docker due to which it is preferred in industry (Hardware cost benefits).

I would like to know the difference between creating an environment and a docker
Creating a docker is intsalling the docker tool where as creating an environment is setting up the components of docker. components such as client, daemon, dockerfile, docker images, docker container
what sort of applications can run off containers ?
There is no application as such, but docker containers can be started and stopped with the commands.
good info
