What's your take on this spider dilemma going on right now? You see tons of animals in the wild and breeding and keeping, what do you think?
@@theodore2994 I actually stopped breeding the spider gene a couple years ago for the exact reason everyone is making videos about them now.

When I go a show, I always look for caging first! That Terra Orb design is unique and most importantly, functional. Dav, thanks for including some cage love in these videos. And I hope dwarf retics become the new ball python. Yeah I said it.

Oh, and by the way it is a true testament to who you are as a great human being for not just pocketing that pied. I bet 99% of the people there would say finders keepers, but you didn't even think twice about making sure it went to its rightful owner. I wish there were more honest people in the world like you Dāv. You're a really good guy.

That cow retict was awesome. All are good choices. We left there with an awesome pastel Pied ball, and a boa imperator. We also bought the big terra orb terrarium they are awesome.

Another awesome video! I really need to make it out there one day, but I watch all the videos from these expos and most of them are all the same, boring videos I only watch a couple minutes of before I can't take it anymore. Sorry, but that scaleless pied looked bad.. I get it, its part of the whole scaleless thing. It's funny how people are freaking out about the spider wobble, but everyone loves the scaleless stuff.
Some people love them, others not so much. I've always wanted to see a pied combo though.
Another cool show, loved all the retics! Lacies are my faves though and you'll be able to find many quite easily in Sydney if you get a chance to have a herp :) Hope you enjoy the Penrith Reptile Expo!

Really disagree with the whole scaleless thing. The fact you cant even keep the snake on super soft aspen because it would be irritating to the snake. So does that not mean that scaleless is a stupid thing to do. Why continue something to make a animal less adapted than it was.
People have been doing things like that to animals for tousands of years. By your logic dogs,cats, horses, cows and any domestic animal really, are wrong and inhuman. As long as the animals are kept apropriatly there shouldnt be a problem.

I love the channel man keep giving us this great content. I got a few questions, are you still making the western hognose book? Most captive snakes are fed weekly, would it be a bad thing to space out feedings to keep a snake a smaller size? I'm not talking about starving the snake but maybe feed every 20 days. ( Ball phytons/ Boas/Green tree/Olive python).
Thanks Aaron! Glad you're liking the videos! I'm not sure what the status is on the book. It's been written for a while and now it's in the hands of the publisher. I would stick to a weekly to 10 day feeding schedule.

Should I begin my reptile keeping journey with a pair of abronia? I want to breed... however I’m a beginner and I’ve done research but id like some professional advice.
To be completely honest with you, no. Don't start with abronia. They are not a good beginner lizard. I would start with basics; leopard geckos, crested geckos, bearded dragons, etc. Then move up to more specialty lizards like abronia.
I really have to make it there in October just to meet you. I'm such a huge fan and I really don't know what I'd do if I ever got to meet you

Watched the video again and I think it's because of the color and lack of scales make it appear skinny but I know Dav would never showcase a sickly animal at a show especially Tinley. Glad you had fun felt like I was there lol

I didn’t think they were still breeding the scaleless balls because they didn’t thrive well... hmm guess I heard wrong. I prefer wild type snakes and lizards though.
