Need to try the sportback competition spec. I took deliver last month. It is what the RS% should have been. Emotional, precise steering, oem coilovers that actually deal with the bumps/ potholes better than original while getting rid of the bouncy rear end when pushed. In addition new hardware/ software exhaust system, (it makes a difference!) stiffer roll bars, adjusted gearbox to create quicker shift that brings the 0-60 down to 3.5 or less (as I have seen personally). It is excellent.
I owned the RS5 Sportback in 2021. I’ve missed it ever since, and keep an eye on the price but it’s just too high in the UK at the minute. Mine had the flat bottomed steering wheel also, so a bit disappointing that you can’t get that anymore. What a special car. Ever time I got in it I was smiling. Much prefer the look of the RS5 over the M3 Comp.
23' RS5 SB owner here. Nice review, I look forward to seeing additional thoughts as you ride her a little more. I'm just over 3,000 miles and I could not be happier with my choice.
@@Sean-if7rp but it sounds incredibly boring and dreary, and isn't exciting. It's just a tool that can move you quickly. Not emotive like a high revving petrol engine can be.
@@supercar.driver Since you've got the RS5 as a long-termer....is there any way I could convince you to make a M340i touring vs RS5 comparison? It would be interesting to see how they compare.
What a nice surprise - thanks for the video! Idk anything about the way that the RS drives, but to me basically all Audis models look substantially better than any of the competition (save for the Cadillac CT4/5 Blackwings)
Phenomenal machine - picked up my 2023 RS5 coupe yesterday. The quattro system is astonishingly competent - Takes corners so fast, it is actually dangerous...a teeny bit of turbo lag & no real feel through the steering are its primary negatives. Put it in dynamic with everything using sports suspension plus DRC & save it to RS mode....& enjoy. Up the intensity on the massage seats & it's like being beaten up by Alan Carr or Joe Lycett.
I picked mine up a couple months ago. I had an A6 before this and a bunch of Acura's before that. This is the real deal for a driving enthusiast, not someone that regards themselves as a sports car aficionado.
The blackwings are the problems with these sedans. I would take the RS5 over the M3 better looking and a grown man’s car. M3 is a little to in your face for me
I want to like the RS5, but I'd get the older one with the V8 before this. I wish the current RS4/5 came with the 5 cylinder. The V6 isn't fancy enough.
the audi will always fail if you put it in the same sentence as a M3 touring. M3 touring is running circles around an RS6, a car above its weight class.....RS4/RS5 cant even come close to the M3 touring. this would struggle to keep up with a 340i as the new one is quite potent. in isolation its an okay car, typical audi but when compared to the new bimmer this just comes up short rather spectacularly. your videos btw are top notch especially the environs and the camera work. ppl say the rs5 performance is much better than the non performance rs5 but then again this is an aging platform and is crying for replacement/updating.
Platform is only 7 years old, and it was advanced to begin with 🤷♂️ Plus manufacturers have stopped developing ICE-only platforms. This is likely as good as it will ever get. Granted the M4 handles better.
The RS5 would struggle to keep up with a 340? RS5 0-60 is 3.3 seconds. 11.5 quarter mile. The 340 does 0-60 in 4.1 and 12.5 quarter mile. I know the 340 is a beast but your just exaggerating.
I mean I like the Rs5, but, it's just not that quick, throw in an unacceptable ride quality and it just doesn't really make sense or feel special enough! May aswell just pickup an S4/5 cheaper and easier to modify into big power!
@@supercar.driver I mean it does move, but I was very underwhelmed with it, can't out my finger on it, but getting out and walking away from it I just never really looked back, I need my ego massaging after spending that much on a car! 🤣
I own an S5, and have temporarily got an RS5 as a courtesy car whilst it’s in getting work done to it. And I can honestly say you’re better off getting an S5, yes it may lack horsepower and all “excitement” of an RS vehicle, however it is just as capable, waaaay more comfy and even as used as a day to day vehicle decent fuel econ! If you’re doing any long distance driving certainly would choose and RS! I know modifying is a bit of a grey area, but to get an S5 which shares the same engine remapped for a fraction of the price really makes me think, is it worth spending the extra 15/20k on an RS….
@@stefanomarcellino6701 by today's standards and it's competition in that sector, it's not that fast! The previous B8 model is slower still, but feels special enough not to matter, absolute gem of a motor!

Estate car so family.
Right 320d touring and a 997 gt3 for the weekend. Job done.
Same £100k spent and way more fun..
Epic as ever guys . Thanks.
Couldn't agree more! Thanks
You didn't listen to one of the prerequisites being it had to carry people and luggage whilst being quick, did you? 😂
Map + intercooler 335d touring

A57 Snake Pass. I'm often parked there while walking in the hills, and love hearing cars and bikes blasting up and down the road.

Why not the RS4 May I ask?
Or the RS4 Competition perhaps
The RS5 sportback has a hatch back which is more estate like than a saloon
Audi RS5 all day long!! Great and versatile car.

Awesome honest review. Thanks 😊
Although not interested to Audi cars I’ve watched the video for the scenery!!😊Great cinematography and review!
Top tier production + great review. What i always wanted. Subbed
That jumper wild!!
Do you guys ever go out to the A57 Snake Pass for some spirited driving

Fair! Does the job for us
rs3 is where its at
Where was that filmed
Where is this road?
bring back the NAs (w hybrid system to meet regualtions)
Why wouldn't you take an RS 4 Avant instead of this? I'm pretty certain that would make a far better crew car and just as fast.
sorry... Plus firewall insulation reduced and those new lighter wheels are delicious....
what is the name of the color?
The m3 touring… and it aint even close😳 bmw have set new levels fr
What happened to the E92 M3?
Still got it, still drive it, still love it ❤
@@supercar.driver I have an E90 M3 saloon (DCT), engine is a cracker.
M3 Touring all day.
different market
Proper four wheel drive with Quattro will be better than the X-Drive in the winter
And your videos damn looking beautiful
RS5 isn't an estate though
I have never seen arms made out of water 💦
👏👏👏👏
🙌🏼
on track the M3, in real life, the audi si far better

Struggle against a 340i?? 😂😂 stay off RUclips comments
The RS5 destroys a M3 in launch... I don't even think you've driven either of them lol
But I use indicators..and that precludes me ever having a bmw.

Could i have the money instead
Yes, get a job. That's literally how the compensate you.
Neither
V6 is an instant pass
