pretty sure that nod hasn't had to pay for a beer or a pie in walsall since about 1973, and, as for the 'freedom' bit, i can totally confirm that nod could go anywhere in that district and be welcomed with open arms - but it's nice to see the stuffed shirts acknowledging him after all these years! walsall's finest. ANY town would be proud to have him!
Still can command a crowd what a pasonna and presence this great front man has always had. His rock roll voice could take the blaster off your walls it's so powerful the best awesome voice live ever. Miss you Nod but thanks for the memory it lives ever in my mind.
I was so lucky to be there! As i only live down the road and i'm a huge Slade fan i wasn't going to miss it!!! Took my 11 year old daughter who wasn't that impressed tho lol congratulations Noddy. Lovely lovely man got to speak to him and got the program signed!.....
Watching old Slade videos (Slade in England) brought me here. Noddy has never changed his polite yet down to earth attitude. What a top bloke he is. As mentioned ANY town would be happy to give Noddy the freedom .

I lived in Wednesbury for a while & loved the friendliness of people, also worked in Dudley. Then in 2019 visited from Perth, Australia, stayed in Walsall, travelling from bus station where the people were again so friendly, love the Black Country 💙❤️💚

He has a lot of humility and doesn't realise how his voice transcends a mortal beings. His vocal chords were truly blessed.
