It looks like Long Live Evil is showing as August now 🗓️
I jusr realised how much i loove your ending tune!! It gives sitting at a tavern in a medieval fantasy vibes
It's from The Witcher. The Tree When We Sat Once. I love it.
@@saramm3765 ohhh thanks gonna look it up on Spotify now! I never saw that series
@@saramm3765Thank you so much! I’ve been trying to figure out what it was!!😅
@@Srbthmlnsmthit’s from The Witcher 3 Video Game, not the TV-Series. The whole soundtrack is ♥️
@@schattenspiel8350 gotcha thanks
With Long Live Evil, it sounds like the Villainess trope from shoujo light novel/manga/anime has made it to a Western trad pub. Classics in this trope include My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom; I'm the Villainess so I'm Taming the Final Boss; and many, many (many) more. They can often be a lot of fun, so I'll keep an eye out for this one. You might enjoy checking out one of them on your Full Meta Analysis channel.
Thanks for the recs, those do sound fun!
Regarding The Price of Redemption, I think the Naomi Novik reference is due to her Temeraire series (naval warfare is a thing in those books).
I’m guessing as well
Long Live Evil definitely wouldn't have drawn me in, with that cover. But the way you described the story, yeah: it's going on my TBR. Thanks for the video, as usual. :)
Excited for The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst - July 9th
Ah, how did I miss that?!? I’m also excited for that one-I didn’t realize it was so soon. Thanks!
Some cool stuff I didn't know about there. Here are the two I have preordered!
JUL 17 - JARED PECHACEK - THE WEST PASSAGE
JUL 23 - CHINA MIEVILLE - THE BOOK OF ELSEWHERE
8:11 I'm currently reading the Magicians ;)
Love the show 😊
The Arthurian “sequel” and Long Live Evil both sound fun 😁
Great video, OMG more to add to the TBR x
Did Elliot hear about the new VE Schwab book coming out next year?
I’ve heard about it, yes! Though idk if I realized it was so soon
The Magicians is my all time favorite, so excited to see another lev grossman book coming out. Long live evil looks great to!
I will be writing some fantasy stories soon. You should look for author Stacy James Meadows for my other books. Anyway, great video, and very informative. ❤
I love your videos Elliot! I can really see your dedication shine through your wonderful content :)) ❤❤
I have a young adult story of my own I hope to publish, someday entitled Coils of the Serpent Queen
Good luck!

Completely off topic, but your hair looks amazing.
Oh, thank you! I cut it recently 💇🏻♀️ And I mean literally I cut it, cuz I’ve never been to a hair salon before and now I’m over 30 and I’m too anxious to go 😂😂😂
These deathless shores cover looks superb.....but the premise not that captivating
I agree. Sounds so try hard
Hopefully it’ll be better than the synopsis makes it sound :)
Oh I didn't know Grossman's new book was coming out in July! I read The Magicians trilogy like 8 years ago or so, and yes, the characters are super unlikeable and the story is weird and yet I ended up loving the trilogy. It was very hit or miss at the time. So when you read the description I was ready for the heaviness in the plot lol.
And omg! I'm so SO excited for Long Live Evil. Not so much for the plot, but I love the writing style of the author. I read her other book, In Other Lands, last year and it quickly became a comfort read and one of my favorite novels ever. It's a YA fantasy portal with an unlikeable main character, but it's full of heart, jokes and I cried a couple of times. It also subverts many fantasty tropes with a delightful coming of age story. The way Brennan builds on friendships and relationships is just *chef's kiss*. And she's genuinely hilarious too. I have re-read that book many times now, so I'm super excited for this one, so much so I already pre-ordered Long Live Evil.
I’ve taken a screenshot so that I can look that book up sometime! 😄
I don't know how much fantasy is involved in this one (might be more horror/mystery), but Our Wicked Histories by Amy Goldsmith is supposed to be released in July.
Masquerade andThe Undermining of Twyla and Frank are both out in July - I am particularly looking forward to the second, thought it migth be more romance leaning...
I saw Underminding as a free download on the Libro.fm influencer picks for June!
Omg these deathless shores sounds so good STOP THIS
I'm waiting for "The Spellshop" by Sarah Beth Durst (July 9th), a cozy fantasy about a librarian and her assistant, who happens to be a sentient spider plant (cool!). My little brother recently passed away so I really want to read something lighthearted and fun.
I’ve been waiting for that one since I saw it announced, and then stupidly didn’t realize it was already almost here 🫠
Lev Grossman AND King Arthur? Gonna preorder the shit out of that one
'The Bright Sword' sounds like it will be a subversive King Arthur tale, casting him and the Arthurian legend in a negative light.
I think it sounds fun
Am I the only one who thinks of a retelling as being from the perspective of the same character, but reworked somehow, like brought forward into the modern era or such? But, if it's revisited from a different perspective than the original was ever told from, I think of that more as a reimagination or something instead?? 🤔😅😅🫣🙃👀🤭🤷🤷♀️🤷🏻♂️ idekk, maybe that's just me, being weird!!😊 Lollll
I have read the first, fourth and fifth already!🎉
Wow, nice!
yes the 5th All Souls Novel by Deborah Harkness, July 16, 2024
Ok Ms side bang 😊 we see you ❤
Hahaha, you know what? They’re actually straight across. I cut my hair recently, but haven’t worn them straight across in any videos 😂

I just looked up Long Live Evil. It doesn't release until the end of August. August 27.
Yes, just added a correction!
Hey Elliot! Are you taking on any new book reviews right now?

"His name, for no reason, has an X in it"...😂😂❤
Please, oh please, read The Magicians!!!
Ok ok ok, I will at some point! 😄😄😄
I have seen several videos so far but misheard the intro this time as...
"No offense." 😅
Haha, what a way to start that would be 😂
Maybe I'm just miserable or getting old, but the "voice" of all these summaries sounds so obnoxious to me 😬
Oh no! Well, sometimes certain months are just a miss. Hopefully you’ll find something sounds better in a future month :)
Ha! I’m number 666 thumbs up. Bwah-ha-ha!
So tired of female main characters.
Oh no women exist ! 😤😥😤
What you tire of and what I tire of are very different things
