Just purchased my first Tilly hat and i’m thrilled to bits! As somebody who was diagnosed with skin cancer on my head this last summer I’m glad to be now wearing the worlds best hat.
Glad you enjoyed it. FYI, the original owner sold the business and now some of the hats are made in China. It will say on the product page where it is made, in case you are thinking of buying one
I begged my kids for a Tilley for Father's Day - GOT IT! The new "Wanderer" - I love my new Tilley. I hike quite a bit and thought this would be the perfect hat for me. I printed "Brag Tags" online and tucked them in the pocket along with a $20 bill lol. Thanks for the post!
Excellent presentation Mark. I've worn the Tilleys for years, especially on the water. As you said, worth every penny...... As a side note. Expensive? Look at the Stetsons. I have one of those also. A birthday gift to myself for outliving two generations of my family.
I've had a TWC5P black plaid Tilley "Outback" hat for close to 10 years. The black has faded quite a bit to more of a gray with some pink/purple sections but it's still structurally sound. It's a waxed cotton and has kept me from being sunburned to keeping my head dry during heaving downpours while playing golf. My dad has been wearing his daily for 25 years and it's still great. I know they have a lifetime warranty if they wear out, but I figure if it lasts me long enough to wear out, Tilley deserves another $90 CAD from me.
This is the best review I’ve seen for Tilley Hats. I just ordered my first one today and can’t wait to get out and explore in it. We live in Cranbrook and do a lot of exploring. Thank you for sharing your experience with your Tilley hats!
I’ve read about them for years. I was on vacation in Florida this summer and saw them in a store window. I went in and it was love at first sight. It’s more than just a hat, it’s the mystique and stories that go with it. Best purchase i have made in years.
Hi. Great info. I have been using a Drizabone for the last 17 years. It finally fell apart this year,so swopped to a Tilley after reading about them. The lifetime guarantee did it for me. All the best.
I live on the stormy coast of Ireland and invested in a Tilly " Paddler " hat. A great hat, but I was skeptical about the claim for it's wind resistance with it's stiff foam core brim and floppy back. - untill I the day I was on the beach in a gale - force storm. I used the wind cord but it was'nt even needed .. the hat just stayed on and it's not even a tight fit ! Amazing hat.
Down here in the land of Heat and Humidity commonly called Florida my year round camping and paddling ( outdoor ) hat is a Tilley. Mine is the Air Flow model for the semi ventilated crown and with a solid brim for sun protection. The green underside is nice on the eyes by stopping a lot of the reflective glare from the sun. One feature I really like is the pocket in the crown. It's my emergency bank where I keep a few bucks for incidentals when camping or backpacking. Don't have to dig in a pack for currency , just get it from my hat. In the summer when going for a daily walk and being from Texas. My old standby a Straw Stetson with a 3 inch brim for semi sun protection and lots of ventilation.
Florida gets pretty hot and humid.. Even though we don't get that hot I still have a hemp straw hat for those really hot days we do good and I am going somewhere I want to look a little more dressy. Thanks for commenting
I have had the T 3 for about 14 years. Thing has been to Mexico, Chile, Peru, all over the United states. Last year it finally gave out and just started falling apart. Hat has some great memories associated with it. So far I can't bring myself into sending it back. Love that thing!
Right on. I have a Tilley that has done some world travel as well. I think Tilley new people would not want to give up their old hats because of the attachment we have with them. Maybe that is why they don't mind offering the lifetime guarantee. Thanks for commenting
I have worn out 2 tilley hats in 12 years. I swear by them and will never buy another hat. I'm a gardener and wear my hat 5 or 6 days a week in intense sun. I have not been able to get tilley to replace my worn out hats but at less than $20 dollars per year I still recommend them for the great look, comfort and durability.
This is the best review I’ve seen on these hats Sir. I plan on getting the T3 Wanderer. I work outside all day and plan on getting myself a Tilley before Spring.
Mark, great video. I have since I first watched your video years ago purchased 4 Tilley hats. I love them all. They are all I wear. A few people say they are expensive l say it’s about priorities. Some will spend the amount of a Tilley hat on a night out drinking and think nothing of it (I don’t drink). Or a dinner out. I will eat at home a few times and invest in a quality product. Thanks again Mark for the informative video.
My dad has had one since I was born, and I am (at long last) looking into getting one myself for the coming summer. Thanks for taking the time to explain!
Good review. I’ve had my T3 for about eight years and love it. Still looks very tidy too. Just picked up a wool tech ttw2 in a sale for the cold winter days in the UK. You do get what you pay for with these. Quality products in my experience.

Excellent review of the Tilley hat Mark. I own the LTM6 AIRFLO, I've had it for about 12 years (I think, it had brag tags included). It has protected my head from sun and rain on many many rivers in Minnesota and Wisconsin. I wouldn't go kayaking without it. It has held up remarkably well, it still looks newish. I'm going to Myre-Big Island State Park in Southern Minnesota in a couple weeks for a camping long weekend and I wouldn't dream of camping without it. I sure do like your reviews. Lately I go to your reviews first. KUTGW
Tilley hats can really grow on you. I where my in the woods and elsewher until it gets too cold then I switch to a touque (beanie) or my winter Tilley. Gald you are enjoying the videos. Thanks for commenting
I ordered my T3 from Tilley Canada. This is a good year for vegetable gardening so I will need some shade. Thank you for the review. New subscriber. 👍🏻
Very informative and enjoyable video to watch. I had a brown Tilley hat a number of years ago ...so many years ago that I do not even remember which one it was ...I just remember it was brown with a snap up brim. Anyway, I finally ordered a new Tilley yesterday; the T3 Wanderer, and am looking forward to it arriving.
Thank you for posting this video. I’ve used a typical “boonie” (OD green military surplus) in the woods for many years. It’s a full brim hat but comes with no guarantees.
Good old boonie hat with a look all of their own..hard to beat. Tilley hats are not cheap but the way they fit and look plus their warranty make them a good value in the long run. Thanks for commenting

Excellent video Mark. I just bought my first Tilley hat -- I say first, because it sounds like people generally tend to buy another one after their first? Ha ha. I got the TH5 from a local shop here on the Isle of Arran in Scotland.
I am sure you will love it. I should tell you that it may fade a bit unevenly. At least for the first while but then it just gets better. Thanks for commenting
I bought a Tilley a couple of years ago and the functionality is great. I'm not to sure how Mark keeps his brim nice and straight at the front though. My Tilley looks like a Walmart special floppy hat.
I'm considering buying my first hat (tired of caps) and Tilley hat is a big candidate for me. Wish I could try it on before buying but well.. Thanks for this video.
When I bought my first Tilley I had to trust them to get my size correct based on the measurement system they have on their site. It worked out perfect. At first I wasn't sure about the fit as the hat sits a little different on the head but after a short while I got used to it and the hat took the shape of my head. Optionally, you may find a store in your area that sells Tilley hats. Hope this helps. Thanks for commenting
I agree. I also had to replace my first Tilley (one of the first generation)after it started to show signs of degradation due to extended salt water contact. They replaced it no questions asked. Thanks for commenting
The first hat to appear in the video is no longer produced by Tilley but has been replaced by the "Airflow". Yes, it is the last hat discussed. Thanks for commenting
They are pricey. I would have a hard time justifying the cost now myself. Most of my Tilley hats were given to me as either father's day or wedding anniversary gifts. They are great hats though. Thanks for commenting Mark
I never notice you sporting a Tilly. My daughters bought me a Tilly upteen years ago. One daughter noticed me wearing it a couple years ago on our annual fishing trip. She said , is that the hat we bought you? I said yup and she beamed with pride on their great choice. I wear it with pride. It developed a tear on the top and another daughter said you can send it back and get a new one. No way I said.
Oh yes...love my Tilleys. The only time I don't have one on in the woods is winter. I do have a winter Tilley but I consider it dressy and reserve it for around town. I know what you mean, the older my Tilleys get the more I get attached to them. Thanks for commenting
i should never of watched this video Mark lol...I bought a Tilley way back in 1993?? but lost it after a marriage breakup in 06.....so i got to thinking why, not so I ordered one june 23 ,got the hat yesterday..they are nice hats, thanks for the review
Hi Mark, I personally owe only one, the Ltm6 airflow. As you say they are not really cheap, but are worth every cent. And if you calculate the time that you can use them, that makes the price easier to swallow.
>>>quality does not have to be expensive. that's nothing but a myth that this commercialized society WANTS you to believe.>>> Of course it does. Your statement is laughable. 1.) Premium ingredients/materials always increase production and manufacturing costs. Quality materials cost more than inferior synthetic materials. Duh. 2.) The labor of skilled craftsmen in North America...costs more than child-labor in China. 3.) A lifetime guarantee that it will never wear out. Whatever style of hat you choose, a Tilley is literally the LAST hat you will ever need to buy in your lifetime...providing you can hang-on to it. And if you can't, they will replace it! What other wearable on the planet can you name that offers that good of a warranty? Now run along and get yourself a Gilligan hat at Target or the liquor store son, the grown-ups are talking.
These hats have quite the reputation! Never bought the real deal yet. Still rocking a milsurp hat until it dies. Might take awhile. That waxed hat looks like the perfect Nova Scotia hat. Take care!
I have a Jhats. It looks exactly like this. Everything is the same except it doesn’t have a moisture pad in it. It does have the little pocket in the top. It is 8 years old. I wear it on the beach. $20.
Mark Young Hey Mark. I know the quality is no where near as good. I’ve already had skin cancer on my neck and face. I’m very white so I need to wear hats. I still want to get a Tilley hat
Very dashing chapeau Mark haha! My wife actually bought me two Tilleys but I havent started wearing them yet, when I wear a hat its my OR wide brimmed hat. The Tilleys are exceptionally well made though!
Today Tilley hats happened to be on sale for “Black Friday”. I purchased directly to avoid possible future warranty issues & went with TH5 since my location is in SE Texas. Thanks again and I look forward to catching up on all your videos!
If you want the white flax one darker, soak it in a strong tea or coffee solution. I did it with my original Tilley and was very satisfied with the darker khaki/dark coyote color. I would still have it, but was stolen after the divorce. Gotta get a new one.
I liked the white originally but find it starting to get dirty looking even after washing. I have been thinking about dying it. I will consider your suggestions. Tilley would likely have given you a deal on replacement based on their hat loss policy. Thank you for commenting.
@@MarkYoungBushcraft looks like there might actually be some hope of getting out and doing something this summer so a good hat is key to enjoying yourself It's not fun being sunburned and blinded
@@MarkYoungBushcraft any recommendations on insect repellent other than deet ? I saw a video a couple weeks ago and deet does bad things to gear materials so I want to find something different. Also deet stinks, if I'm taking pit stick into the woods to avoid smelling myself I sure as hell don't want to smell like deep woods
have you seen the you tube vid "tilley hat self defence" apparently if someone attacks you with big stick all you need is your trusty hat to defend yourself.my tilley is great but i reserve judgment on that use. cheers
That’s the most uninformed comment I have seen. Some people are not capable of understanding. It’s like a tent. Sure. You can get this guy a Walmart tent. I will take a quality mountaineering tent that will not break down and will last forever. LOL
a straw mexican hat (gardeners) has a much larger brim keeps the sun off the head and neck we also in construction cut the brim off the hat and glue them on our hard hats
Sorry to hear they have started with imports. Had hoped they would remain all Canadian made. I am sure you will be happy with the hemp. Love mine. They do fade a fair bit though. Thanks for commenting
@@MarkYoungBushcraft I've sent it back Mark. I managed to find a model which is still made in Canada, but it doesn't have the quirky label or user manual :(
@HaldirTheBestElf I have always lived by a mantra, that is pay as much as you can afford then look after it but sometimes income dictates decisions, saying that I paid £3 for a hat and have had it twenty years so???
Watch second hand stores and estate sales, I have found about a dozen that way. Plus have one bought from Alex at the 1980 Toronto Boat Show the first year they sold them.
I fully agree. I have one Tilley that is 20+ years old and another that is 12 years old. The only sign of "wear" is some fading of the hemp on my TH5 and I think it gives it character
Have one, 'cause someone give it to me as a gift. It «worth every penny», ah, ! It's to heavy, to hot, but surrelly, in the big city, it's looking coo, adventurer etc, question of branding, that's it. I buy and old boonie hat in army surplus, and it doing the same job for 5 $, not 80$, and i don't give a damn if I loose it. Worth every penny, the boonie hat, surrely, Tilley.... if you want to looking as a «backcountry wildman»in a fancy restaurant in town Tilley is your best choice here in canada
Mine is at least 35 yrs old and yes people said to me how much ? you're an idiot. It's a T3 I think originally light khaki with a green underbrim I died it a dark coffee colour and never looked back. Yes parts of the brim have taken a bit of a set it looks a little crumpled but.....it still works !!!!
I expect my T3 is close to 30 years old as well. I have been thinking about changing it;s colour as well but I spilled wood stain on it so I don't think it will take a dye or coffee stain. Still one of my favs though. Thanks for commenting
Yes, I have learned that some of the more popular hats are being made in China but a lot are still made in Canada. The company actually has a list of Made in Canada items. Thanks for commenting
I must say, you've piqued my interest. I'm not so follically challenged as you are, but I do have the genetic defect that results in irregular distribution of melanin in the epidermis. This means that some of my freckles get dark and others just look green when they are surrounded by beet red sunburned skin which can happen in about half an hour. I am seriously considering the broad-brimmed LTM. I was surprised to find it is the least pricey model. I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I have bookmarked the site.
Taking care of your health is job one and I don't hesitate to spend the money on something I have confidence will do the job...and look good doing it. Thanks for commenting
Just for an update. Tilley hats are horrible now. They are made in China now. bad before I even pulled it out of the plastic bag, I was able to observe a severe defect in construction.
Nice hats but way too expensive. Thats like buying a top of the line Mercedes to buy groceries 1 a week 2 blocks from your house.I'm a frugal person though.... Cheers Mark!
No argument here. I am pretty cheap about my gear as well. All my good stuff came as gifts. My Tilley obsession pre-dates my bushcraft days and most of my Tilley's came as gifts as well...but they are great quality hats..thanks for commenting
I agree. I bought a few Henschel and Outback Trading hats that do just as good a job for 1/3 of the price of a Tilley. Frugality saves me money to buy other gear with.
M C they're amazing hats, sorry if I gave the wrong impression but I usually wear a Dollar store ball hat. Buying a Dodge hat is a luxury buy for frugal person ;) I have a few dodge hats too
I feel ya, ive been wearing the same Burley Tobbaco Growers hat for 3 years now hahaha I couldnt afford one of these hats, im just saying that its a one time purchase instead of a every few years kind of purchase.
$79.00 for a hat? Uh, no. Buy a $15 hat from Walmart and slide a straightened paperclip into the bill seam and spray it with water (shoe) repellent. Same purpose, same results and not supporting price gouging companies.
CAUTION many Tilley hats are now made in China. Check to be sure you are buying a Canadian made hat.
Just purchased my first Tilly hat and i’m thrilled to bits! As somebody who was diagnosed with skin cancer on my head this last summer I’m glad to be now wearing the worlds best hat.

More insight then all the other reviews I have watch thank you for the information provided

Nice hats. Thank you for showing them to us, Mark
They are a bit of an extravagance but I do love my Tilley hats. Thanks for commenting
Been wearing these since the 70s. T5 good for all weather here in Florida except in downpour, then you need a nylon or waxed version.
I will be wearing my original T5 to Florida in November when I visit my daughter. Thanks for commenting
Best hat 👒 ever I have 4 of them 🤠
Right on. I am looking at a few of the new ones to add to my collection. Thanks for commenting
The best hat I own. Their replacement guarantee works, i have had one replaced already.
I agree. I also had to replace my first Tilley (one of the first generation)after it started to show signs of degradation due to extended salt water contact. They replaced it no questions asked. Thanks for commenting
Thank you😊, that was a great review.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for commenting
Great review Mark! We just started carrying these. Thinking of getting the T3 Wanderer….
I may be crazy but I am considering another Tilley...or two. I fancy the Tec-Wool and the T3 Wanderer. Thanks for commenting
Mark-Great video. Very informative. Which model was the first hat you were wearing? Can’t tell if it’s the same as the last one you discussed.
The first hat to appear in the video is no longer produced by Tilley but has been replaced by the "Airflow". Yes, it is the last hat discussed. Thanks for commenting
Always wanted to try one but they are a bit pricey. Plus there are so many models to choose from I didn't know where to start. Thanks for sharing.
They are pricey. I would have a hard time justifying the cost now myself. Most of my Tilley hats were given to me as either father's day or wedding anniversary gifts. They are great hats though. Thanks for commenting Mark
Thanks for the video, going shopping for one this weekend. Great looking hat and made right here in Canada 🇨🇦.
Being made here means a lot to me as well. They are a Canadian icon. Thanks for commenting
@@MarkYoungBushcraft Too bad they are now made in China, since Mr Tilly sold out.
Great review! I've had mine for many years too, and it's a wonderful hat. 👍
Glad you enjoyed the video. definitely my favourite outdoor hat. Thanks for commenting
Dang, buying a tilly hat now!
You will have no regrets.
Oh no...she got the Tilley??. Be careful Craig. Buying Tilley hats can be addicting. Thanks for commenting
Great video Thankyou. Really helpful.
Glad you found it helpful. Thanks for commenting
I like Tilly hats I have just found it hard to find one to fit my giant pumpkin head. lol Great info Mark.
Hey brother...I wear a size 7 1/2...that's not small... they have one to fit you..Thanks for commenting Mark
I have a Tilley and I've subscribed. My Tilley cost me $5.00 US. Of course that was because a friend gave me a $75.00 gift card
You have to love friends like that. Thank you for subscribing to my channel
Got mine at the thrift store for $1.99👌
Hi Mark, I personally owe only one, the Ltm6 airflow. As you say they are not really cheap, but are worth every cent. And if you calculate the time that you can use them, that makes the price easier to swallow.
Great way of looking at them. Thanks for commenting
Great review!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for commenting
I have always wanted one. Out of my price range.
They are pricey.. but quality often is. Thanks Martin
I pay more to fill up my gas tank than the most expensive Tilley hat.
You buy it once take care of it and you can give it to your son or nephew. If you loose it you only pay half for a new one.
>>>quality does not have to be expensive. that's nothing but a myth that this commercialized society WANTS you to believe.>>>
Of course it does.
Take care!
The waxed cotton is good for all but the really hot days.. Maybe if your good this year Santa will bring you one 😉
I have three summer and two winter, the best hats I've ever had.
I'll raise your summer (four) and your winter (three)... Yeah, I have a bit of an obsession with them...Thanks for commenting
I have a Jhats. It looks exactly like this. Everything is the same except it doesn’t have a moisture pad in it. It does have the little pocket in the top. It is 8 years old. I wear it on the beach. $20.
It would be interesting to compare the quality of the hats side by side. Thanks for commenting
Mark Young Hey Mark. I know the quality is no where near as good. I’ve already had skin cancer on my neck and face. I’m very white so I need to wear hats. I still want to get a Tilley hat
Really, really enjoyable video!
Thanks for posting.
Iam very glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for commenting
Have to purchase one! Never agreed with peaked caps or baseball caps.
I am sure you will be happy with them. There a lot more choices now as well. Thanks for commenting
i love these hats i have a t5 an austrailian waxed and a lm6 i lov them all
Hey Terry. Good to hear from you. I am now thinking about buying yet another Tilley. The TTW2. Thanks for commenting
@@MarkYoungBushcraft which color are you looking at i was looking at the rust
@@wiseraven2000 I like the rust as well but I would likely go with the grey as it is a bit more universal
I still think I'm going to go with the rust
Cool hat ans I just saw on their web site that they have a Canada 150 anniversary special edition that's just awsome 👍👌🙌 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Ciao from Québec ⚜
I saw that as well Laurent... getting hard to justify asking for another Tilley from my wife...but maybe... Thanks for commenting
Fantastic review.
Thanks so much for making this video.
Glad you liked the video. Thanks for commenting
Got me one at a yard sale and lost its .can I get a replacement ?
Good question. You may want to contact the new owners to see
Very dashing chapeau Mark haha! My wife actually bought me two Tilleys but I havent started wearing them yet, when I wear a hat its my OR wide brimmed hat.
The Tilleys are exceptionally well made though!
The OR is a great hat as well..Don't worry about your Tilleys. You can't kill them. Thanks for commenting Wade
Thank you for the reply to lead me to this video 👍
Today Tilley hats happened to be on sale for “Black Friday”. I purchased directly to avoid possible future warranty issues & went with TH5 since my location is in SE Texas. Thanks again and I look forward to catching up on all your videos!
Good timing on buying your Tilley. I am sure you will love it as I do mine. Thanks for commenting
Love my Tilley hats. Two T3's . One is fairly new and still clean and the other is my bush beater. These things are hard to kill.
true story... My hats have been through the worst and still look great. Thanks for commenting
These are great hats but expensive here in the UK. I have a Tilley T3 as does my wife and a TWC7 Outback. You get what you pay for.
I agree, you get what you pay for with these hats. Good to know your investment is protected by their great warranty. Thanks for commenting
Fellow Tilley fan. Great video.
In fact, I watched your video about your Tilley. Thanks for commenting
I agree with your assessment. The khaki/green combo is nice but gets dirty to quickly. I'm buying a LTM4 and I'm going with it in gray
I have a pair of mil-spec camo boonie hats, one in green tones and another in urban camo gray that I got from my local surplus store

@@MarkYoungBushcraft looks like there might actually be some hope of getting out and doing something this summer so a good hat is key to enjoying yourself
It's not fun being sunburned and blinded
@@shawnr6117 Right on. Important to keep safe from too much sun exposure. Time to start thinking about ticks as well
@@MarkYoungBushcraft any recommendations on insect repellent other than deet ? I saw a video a couple weeks ago and deet does bad things to gear materials so I want to find something different.
Also deet stinks, if I'm taking pit stick into the woods to avoid smelling myself I sure as hell don't want to smell like deep woods
As a person who never really liked hats, going bald has been a challenge. Now I always need to cover my head. I might just look into these.
Nothing wrong with looking good while protecting the melon😀 Thanks for commenting
Suitable for templated climates but not for desert like very hot regions. Not an option for Arizona or Florida. A pith helmet may be an better option.
Thanks for commenting
I've got an LT3, LTM6 Airflow and you guessed - the TWC7 Outback hat too.
Great choices. I love the Outback for cooler temperatures like this time of year. Thanks for commenting
Nice hats!!
very nice. Thanks for commenting
have you seen the you tube vid "tilley hat self defence" apparently if someone attacks you with big stick all you need is your trusty hat to defend yourself.my tilley is great but i reserve judgment on that use. cheers
Just watched it...too funny...Thanks for commenting
Basically, an inferior, more expensive Seattle Sombrero. It looks less silly, however, and it's probably better in the heat.
Can I assume form your comment that you have compared the two side-by-side? If so, would be great to see that in a video. Thanks for commenting
Cool trick. Have not heard that one before. Thanks for commenting
Nice hats but ridiculously high in price!
No argument here...quite pricey but as is often the case quality costs..Thanks for commenting
finally!!! :)
hard to beat your video Jim... Will have to do a winter Tilley review as well...Thanks for commenting
The new ltm6 is imported, :( I think I’ll go with the hemp instead
Sorry to hear they have started with imports. Had hoped they would remain all Canadian made. I am sure you will be happy with the hemp. Love mine. They do fade a fair bit though. Thanks for commenting
I recently purchased my first Tilley hat, and was very disappointed to find it was made in China, rather than Canada :(
I have heard that a couple times now. Will be asking about it. Thanks for commenting
@@MarkYoungBushcraft I've sent it back Mark. I managed to find a model which is still made in Canada, but it doesn't have the quirky label or user manual :(
I keep meaning to get one of those but the cost puts me off, I need to bite the bullet soon
Yes, a bit pricey up front but you will have a lifetime of enjoyment from it. Thanks for commenting
@HaldirTheBestElf
I have always lived by a mantra, that is pay as much as you can afford then look after it but sometimes income dictates decisions, saying that I paid £3 for a hat and have had it twenty years so???
Watch second hand stores and estate sales, I have found about a dozen that way. Plus have one bought from Alex at the 1980 Toronto Boat Show the first year they sold them.
I also have found a few in thrift stores and online (Kijiji). The hat bought from Alex is a collectors item. Thanks for commenting
Buy a great hat and it will last forever!

Going to web site. Thanks.

Check the specs . They are not all made in Cannada. Many are CCP made.
Yes, I learned that after making this video. Fortunately, many are still made here. Pays to check before you buy. Thanks for commenting
@@MarkYoungBushcraft I used Dylon wash in dye mind you it was a long time ago
Apparently they aren't made in Canada now. They're being made in China. :(
Yes, I have learned that some of the more popular hats are being made in China but a lot are still made in Canada.
It's a hat. It's not exactly a life decision and it's certainly not worth divulging your personal medical history over.
but are they guaranteed for life? lol
That's the rumour...LOL...Thanks for commenting
Just for an update. Tilley hats are horrible now. They are made in China now. bad before I even pulled it out of the plastic bag, I was able to observe a severe defect in construction.
I agree the China made hats are bad but they still make some models in Canada. Thanks for commenting
Yes but it isnt replaced for free if it's damaged like Tilley hats. that tag even says, "put it in your will"
M C they're amazing hats, sorry if I gave the wrong impression but I usually wear a Dollar store ball hat.

Your video shows lack of protection for nose, lips and face. My Tilley has lost it's shape. Foam distroyed by dryer.
Good thing it was not a video on sun protection. I hope you made use of Tilley's lifetime warranty. Thanks for commenting
Do not put them in the dryer, just hang to dry. In the hot summer just wear it wet.
$79.00 for a hat? Uh, no. Buy a $15 hat from Walmart and slide a straightened paperclip into the bill seam and spray it with water (shoe) repellent. Same purpose, same results and not supporting price gouging companies.
