I just realized that this song easily could be a gateway song for j-pop lovers who haven't given BABYMETAL a chance yet. I would love it if this song ranked high on the J-pop music charts and got a lot of radio play on pop radio stations. BABYMETAL was my gateway into the metal genre.🤘🦊🤘
A beautiful ballad full of love, at first I thought we would have a live versión but i was wrong. Love the J-pop sound from 2000 and years after. Anyway here's some info about this song: One of the discovered 10 parallel worlds is "LIGHT AND DARKNESS" and this 4th pre-release digital single “Light and Darkness” centers around this theme. Because light exists, darkness also exists. And because darkness is present, there is also a world that shines. During the night when light and darkness intersect, what we seek after poisoned with darkness awaits a world filled with strong love. As the door opens, is it hope or despair that awaits us? The song expresses the duality in everything and the way things are perceived and interpreted differ depending on each person’s point of view. This was a world premiere at Makuhari Messe 2023 setlist, along with "THE LEGEND", Momoko Okazaki is the third backup dancer and possibly the new official member. Here's the lyrics translated with some help. Thanks for sharing this and being one of the first reacting to this new single. See you next time 🦊🤘❤️ Lyrics : MK-METAL / TAKEMETAL Music : TAKEMETAL Arrangement : tatsuoMETAL 【Lyrics】 Even the reality buried in the snow of sadness Even these hands that have been dyed red by mistakes Take me to oblivion To an ideal world filled with love Open that door Come on Ah, Ah Being poisoned, falling into a dream A night where light and darkness seek and play together Drowning in a sea of rhythm Even my memories are being destroyed This love is strong and strong I'm sure it won't stop This love is strong and strong Never let go Let me out. Let me out. let's jump out hit by the rain of joy Let me go. Let me go. right now Let's dance the night away Take me to oblivion Take off the mask filled with lies Right now Being poisoned, falling into a dream A night where light and darkness seek and play together Drowning in a sea of rhythm Even my memories are being destroyed This love is strong and strong I'm sure it won't stop This love is strong and strong Never let go In the night when sorrow overflows Keep this love warm Open the door now Come on Ah, Ah Even my dreams are poisoned A night where hope and despair seek and play together Ring out forever Even my heart is filled This love is strong and strong I'm sure it won't stop This love is strong and strong Never let go
Listen to the 10 songs on the album in order, and you may find the answer to your question. My impression from listening to the album live was that it was a METAL version of the 80s-90s j-pop that was popular in the 90s in Japan and is now heard overseas as CITY POP!😊
Good reaction man. As a suggestion, try watching Monochrome and Light and Darkness back-to-back. This is how they are on the upcoming album and how they were performed in their January shows, so this is clearly how Babymetal want us to listen to them. I feel that the songs are almost countermeasures to one another to help resolve the tension. I think with this album, we are going to have to wait 'til it drops to see how all the chess pieces fit together. I'm excited.
I can't disagree with anything you said about this one. Of the four songs released so far 'Monochrome' is my own favourite and 'Metal Kingdom' followed by 'Divine Attack' work well together for the concert openers - this one will have to grow on me (it has started to after 5 or 6 listens so far) and I know from experience to wait for the live version before coming to any real conclusions. I've been saying this in other reactions, but I feel this album, concept aside, is highlighting Su-metal's vocals more than anything and possibly more than has been the case in the previous albums - they each had maybe three or four songs that really did that, this one so far every song has done it.
You're not missing anything, it's not meant to be heavy. Being a concept album it has a flow. This will be track No.9 on the new album. The heavier tracks are in the middle of the album, which haven't been released as singles.
You will find that Su's vocals are not delicate. This is how the studio wanted it to sound . Live the Kamis will be loud and clear, and Su's vocals will cut through everything as always . That is why fans say their even better live as in being there They are at their best live . I think you will find what's missing in an actual live performance, the heavy is there, but the studio unfortunately gets their way . Can not wait to hear this live at Wembley in April if they perform it . 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Well, to be honest, I'm still not sure about this one. And for sure, it doesn't sound heavy at all. But I need to listen to the actual live audio to make a final decision about this song. Until then, this is probably my least favorite of the new releases so far. BUT Su-metal's vocals sound amazing despite being a studio recording and a little too much produced for my personal taste. And yes, that double bass and guitar lines sound great!
First off, for the Babymetal fans; I love the song and it was even better in person. However, you brought up an interesting discussion. What makes something heavy? You stated you are not a particular fan of the heavy stuff like; I’ll just toss a band out there, Nemophila. I absolutely get that. I love Nemophila and Lovebites, but they are both generally considered harder, or more power to thrash metal. So is that what makes them hard, or any band? I guess it comes down to one’s personal enjoyment and expectations. So what were your expectations from this group and are you somehow limited (politely) in your expectations. I mean that as a discussion opener and not to be impolite in any way. I love all three of the bands we’ve mentioned and for different reasons. So what was it that didn’t connect? If you don’t like, “heavy” music, what was it missing? I enjoy polite discussions.
i've reviewed lovebites on the channel, and i love very heavy stuff like norma jean, within the ruins, born of osiris, etc - there's a specific type of heavy that i don't enjoy, stuff that's more like cattle decapitation/cannibal corpse. i enjoyed the song itself just fine, i just expected it to hit harder than it did, i guess is the best way i can put it. it felt tame, a little muted. other folks have mentioned that this is intentional on this track so my expectations were just incorrect lol
@@misterenergy Actually I agree that this is more tame. It hit harder live, but the video didn’t do it Justice. I still like it. What really attracts me to Babymetal is their diversity. Other bands have that too,but not to the same level. I was simply interested in your opinion, or taste. Sorry if I was pushing to hard. To be honest I left the metal scene altogether decades ago, because of the repetitive sound and screaming. With that said and to my own surprise I really enjoy Nemophila, but it took Lovebites to push me that way. Basically the same thing without the screams. I also love Band-Maid, but they are a rock band and not metal. I have an eclectic taste from classical to blues, Hiphop, pop, metal. I was just searching for your rationale. Everyone is entitled and I may be more in your camp then I let on. Thanks for the reply.

【Lyrics】
Even the reality buried in the snow of sadness
Even these hands that have been dyed red by mistakes
Take me to oblivion
To an ideal world filled with love
Open that door
Come on Ah, Ah
Being poisoned, falling into a dream
A night where light and darkness seek and play together
Drowning in a sea of rhythm
Even my memories are being destroyed
This love is strong and strong
I'm sure it won't stop
This love is strong and strong
Never let go
Let me out. Let me out.
let's jump out
hit by the rain of joy
Let me go. Let me go.
right now
Let's dance the night away
Take me to oblivion
Take off the mask filled with lies
Right now
Being poisoned, falling into a dream
A night where light and darkness seek and play together
Drowning in a sea of rhythm
Even my memories are being destroyed
This love is strong and strong
I'm sure it won't stop
This love is strong and strong
Never let go
In the night when sorrow overflows
Keep this love warm
Open the door now
Come on Ah, Ah
Even my dreams are poisoned
A night where hope and despair seek and play together
Ring out forever
Even my heart is filled
This love is strong and strong
I'm sure it won't stop
This love is strong and strong
Never let go
