Joanna, I loved this. Will you give me your thoughts on Lydia and women being heads of synagogues in light of first Timothy 2:12? If you already have spoken to this elsewhere, can you point me to that video or writing? I grew up believing as you described in the video and in recent years I’ve been learning my view may not be the full picture. Thank you.

I haven't taught specifically in 1 Timothy 2, though there is a section on my website that does speak to a number of passages that seem to limit women. www.GraceandPeaceJoanne.com
I'll let you know when I start putting a series up like that.

There was no Turkey back then
It was Greek city in Adia Minor

Thank you for taking time to make that more clear.
Yes, Lydia was most likely born into a Greek nobleman’s home, and raised in the wealth and bustle of Thyatira, Thyatira being an ancient Greek city in the western area of Asia Minor, in the region of Lydia (so possibly that is where the woman Lydia's name came from), which is now the modern Turkish city of Akhisar ("white castle"), in the Manisa Province.
It was anachronistic of me to not explain that what we know as modern-day Turkey we also identify as Asia Minor during the time Lydia's story takes place.
