  • This living wreath from Kinsman Company was a lot of fun planting up with Hens & Chicks succulents. It was the first time I ever attempted planting a living wreath.
Wreath can be purchased at Kinsman Company (online) wreath comes in three different sizes. I purchased the large.

I made a lady form in a wire dress attached to a metal garden chair.
They sell coco fiber by the yard that is thick like a mat-easy to cut at our local hardware. It was $5.49/yd. That was 7 years ago. You can tell the difference in quality compared to what you used in the video.
I used landscaping staples and garden wire.
    I named her Mrs. Dirt.
I got the inspiration from a form that was done at a botanical garden and asked the owner how it was made and I took lots of pictures. I was a bit intimidated until I dove into the project. It isn’t as hard as you think it does take patience in building a form from scratch…that was the hardest part…the rest is laying your form down so that your plants have time to root in so they don’t fall out: (no hard work in doing that-just waiting.) the form has been holding up for 6 1/2 years with very little maintenance.
I have also made a canoe out of bamboo twigs and lined with landscape fabric, filled w/soil and stone crop, succulents. I have propagated various succulents wherever I can: wagons, wheelbarrows, boots, purses.
It is addictive once you do your first form you don’t need to buy those expensive wreath forms. Ivy’s also work but needs to be maintained throughout the growing season.
