I had my whole future ahead of me... Nearly 30yrs later, I’m laying in bed as a single man with no family and just my memories of my life gone by... I miss the days of my youth and feel my best years are gone. The innocence of childhood and excitement of the future... man, it was great to be a kid before the internet. i loved the scene when van damme looks at the eagle. This theme reminded of someone who trains while understanding nature. The eagle was a symbol of inspiration.

I came back to this scene and it aged well ..... As a kid in the 90s, I watched this movie and the iconic scenes from Thailand captivated me. I had no idea but I knew one day I would visit Stone City (Ayutthaya). I can say with honor that on April 6th-7th 24 I landed in Bangkok we took a tour of Ayutthaya and it was majestic. The same scenes where JCVD was training I found and retraced those steps. They got elephants walking around, we took pictures with the Monks snapping a few pictures of Buddha's head that was surrounded by trees. Thailand is tropical and very hot so if you go please dress lite. Afterward, our tour guide took us for Thai ice coffee and lunch at a restaurant. Local people were very respectful. We spent the 8th to 15 in Pattaya and did the Walking Street and Songkran which was amazing 👏🏽. If you do anything especially those that loved this movie as a child GO TO THAILAND!!! Best experience I've ever had! The perfect mix of cultural foods/drinks and entertainment. The women are beautiful and nightlife rocks until 730am every night. Thailand HAS IT ALL! ✌🏽 and ❤️.
whenever i drive the car alone at night i turn it on and think about the beautiful days… Guys life is so beautiful let's enjoy it before it's too late 🙏🏼

Many years have gone by since I watched such films but I get instantly reminded of the times I spent with my brothers to try and replicate those awesome martial arts moves, those kicks. I Still get some of the level of energy I had back in my youth when watching this. JCVD legend.

I checked the cast of Kickboxer on Google, went to see if Dennis Chan who plays Xian is dead 🤔 He is 73 now & I was like WTF? Isn't Kickboxer a 1989 old ass movie? 😆 🤣 I thought Dennis Chan was 70ish in Kickboxer, Dennis Chan who plays Xian is 39 or 40 here!!! 😆🤣 I'm 44 & don't look that old! 😆 🤣
You'll notice in the movie while kurt trains there's always a hawk watching over him the teacher sees the hawk watching and instinctively knows spiritually that there is something special about kurt that is what drives him to teach him more
this movie has no resemblance to any muay thai but none the less great classic action flick and the music is still one of the best in any action movie maybe the best hertzog is genius

Yeah I trained vigorously in the art of Tang Soo Do in the hope of following in the footsteps of the likes of JCVD and Chuck Norris, even getting to black belt, but then I was mugged and severely beaten on the streets of my home town. I fought back, obviously, as hard as I could, but I was ultimately bested (there was two of them). Nothing ever felt the same after that so I bowed out and never went back 😒 Boy, did this bring a memory or two flooding back!
