100% Lexi and Fagbenle have the highest motors on the team, also, Boston out of foul trouble and they could steal a hard win or two, and perhaps, have an easier time against the teams below them. Yep. I actually think if the roster changed, maybe Wheeler and Mitchell gone, Lexie could increase her offensive output. She has a nice looking three and goes to the basket better than anyone on the team.

I agree. Hull is a solid player offensively, but on defense she is very strong and constantly hustles. My starting five are CC, Hull, Fagbenle (when healthy), Boston, and KLS. Again, I agree that Mitchell is an off the bench player and should be limited.
LH is a winner and a beast... So underrated. She won a title with Stanford (2021) and broke multiple records in highschool if I remember correctly. She is very aggressive player and has that fire in her to win. Imo, Hull should be in the stating lineup or at least the 6th man.. she need to get more minutes. She is an elite defender and can score. High IQ player. It's shocking to me that she isn't used more. I hope we see at least 20-30 minutes from her in future.
Great video. Lexie is a great player and so valuable to the team. Even on the sidelines, she's always one of the first to celebrate a good play or bucket by her team. No ego or attitude when she's benched and comes in ready to play every time. (& plays really well with CC) Love her!
Thanks! I agree. She's fun to watch. Sadly, you don't see a lot of that on the men's side anymore. There's way too much money involved. Not so much the WNBA as a whole, but in general, I see more joy and good fan interaction in women's sports. I look at athletes like Trinity Rodman on the US WNT, who stay after games for so long to interact with fans, take pictures, talk, etc. It's an advantage for them and they need to use it!

Next 3 subs off the bench would be Van Lou, Wallace, Fabagle. Next 3 group of subs would be Wheeler, Berger, Dantes. I'd route this groups in out the whole game. Fresh bodies bringing in energy.
I think it came down to Boston's bestie or Caitlin's bestie(team wise). Sides favors Boston so Saxton stays Celeste goes. Dantes was injured under contract she had to be put on the team.
I’m not entirely certain there is something that Smith does better than Fagbenle. Temi is equal as a rebounder, a better defender, runs better in transition, can also score in the post and shoot a little bit. But honestly I don’t care who starts and comes off the bench, but the players who need to be getting a majority of minutes are CC, Mitchell, Hull, Fagbenle(or if injured then Smith), and Boston

I've noticed that often Clark passes the ball off then goes for a run towards the basket and is open and no one is getting her the ball back. Anyone else do this and Clark will feed them the ball for an easy lay up. It's like the teams know she will not get the ball back if she's inside the 3 point line. It seems to me to be that way.
I think Hull may get blame for the start in Sides mind. Sides thinks that was a bad line up, take Hull out next game. It was just everyone throwing the ball away. I think Katie Lou needs to come off the bench and Hull start. Along with Smith. Smith is terrible defender like most of the team but she can rebound.
Celeste and Lexi are great defenders. The Fever should have had one of them pick up the point guard for 90 feet to tire her out. Both can switch to taller players because they know positioning and boxing out. Quick feet and grit leads to great defense and fast breaks.
Sides needs to have a starting line up and a seond half starting line up. Second half is were Hull and Samuelson is starters and used more, giving Mitchell and Boston some needed rest, also start using Berger for her height , speed and defensive skills in the second half. That would be what 15 or more fouls to give in the second half, opening up to a more aggressive defense attack on the opposing team. DD would be the fill in sub as well, giving the Fever more muscle and shooting thru out the game. Wheeler and Wallace would be used for subing in the first half and never in the second half. The team would be for 20 minutes in the second half, Clark, Hull, Samuelson, Smith and Boston and creating a full court press for 20 minutes.

To the biggest mistake was letting Celeste go. Celeste will never be the offensive player Mitchell is but what kills Indiana is perimeter defense. With Celeste at the 2 and Hull at the 3 they could be one of the best perimeter defenses. That would more than make up for the offensive difference. Also Celste and Cailtin played together on team USA. Chemistry means alot. Celeste scored a full court pass from Cailtin before being cut. Mitchell disrupts the flow. Celste and Hull create the flow. So now Hull is best bet i just wish we had both for defense with Mitchell gone or a spark off the bench.

The Fever are starving for defensive intimidation and hustle from the bigs. Nalyssa is 70/30 in that area. She takes plays off. Hull gives you hustle and loose balls and steady shot but isn't intimidating. Hull is good and a spark but shouldn't be starting over NaLyssa. That was a surprise. I think it shocked the team and is the reason for the sleepwalking for three quarters. Katie Lou is supposed to be a three and D type but I don't ever see much of her defense. I disagree Kelsey is definitely a starter and a go-to when things break down offensively, but she too takes defensive plays off. On the flip side she can create her own shot and get to the foul line, plus when she's hot from the perimeter she's scorching hot. The Fever needs an attitude check. They're not that good right now. It's a dog eat dog league and you can't take any team in the league for granted.
