What is the German Energiewende? (

  • What does it really mean, this “Energiewende”? Currently the energy supply in Germany is based on fossil fuels. But these are gradually being replaced by renewable energy sources. The process accompanying this change is the “Energiewende”. And it is in full swing.

    If Germany replaces nuclear power "for environmenal reasons" should France do the same? They have 80% nuclear power and half the CO2 emissions per person.

      Germany emits TEN times the CO2 per kilowatt hour as France. It's the price the French pay for those kilowatts that's half. Those are pretty much the actual numbers!
