Ivan Rodriguez and Yadiel Molina top if not the best catchers in history. And a proud Puerto Rican saying it. The catcher dynasty started with Benny Santiago and Sandy Alomar, this 2 are by far the best that island has produced.

Another dynamic part of Pudge's game I didn't see in this video was his quick release to 1st base. He back picked so many runners, he changed the game. Opposing teams had to adjust when they played against him. He was so quick to 1st base, you were out if you were leaning.

For those bringing Yadi to this discussion. Pudge Rodriguez is a 13x Gold Glover. Has a higher caught stealing % than Yadi. Has more seasons with 50+% caught stealing than Yadi. Committed less errors and passed balls than Yadi. Has more double plays as a catcher than Yadi. All of that while catching more games behind the plate than Yardi. Pudge Rodriguez is unmatchable defensively as a catcher. The only thing Yadi was better than Pudge was commanding the pitchers.
