    ANOTHER WARNING WHEN USING GLASS BOTTLES; MAKE SURE THEY'RE SUITABLE FOR HIGH TEMPERATURES. GLASS CAN LITERALLY EXPLODE

    My experience:
    Actually you shouldn't use honey like that.
    I tried it out with different stuff.
    The honey is used in the watercolours to let them be floating on the paper (use just a bit. In your case, 3 drops?) and the Arabic gum is for the binding. Depending on the compilation of the different amount of Arabic gum and water, the pigments can dry really fast on spot while making the paint. Right now, I try to make a different Formula to make my own Arabic gum so, that I have more time mixing it. And If someone say, use honey instead,use just a bit ,or the texture won't dry.
    Use a lot of honey if you make lipstick or so.
    Well... I will now try out different types of binder.
    Wish me luck cause I'm a broke artist😅😢

      I suggest fruits with thinner rinds, like apples or pears, as oranges will just prune up and not have the colour or texture you want, good luck though!

    Wouldn't they just go brown on the paper in a little while? Don't they need some kind of fixative? Surely the colour doesn't last?

      Maybe you add gum Arabic it would? Not sure. Or maybe depends on the flowers. I added honey (natural antiseptic) in mine and it's still fine.

    And here I am trying hard to not even eat honey for the preservation of the bees 😳

    • @preston8531
      @preston8531 3 года назад +4

      Thats a shame, since it is entirely possible to eat honey from sustainable sources without doing any harm all, just like the tribes and indigenous farmers in Sharmane's country have been doing for hundreds of years! And you preserve exactly zero bees by not eating honey thats already produced! But your intentions were good, bless your heart!

    • @jinnywise
      @jinnywise 3 года назад +1

      @@preston8531 Yes, such a shame in the area that I live in, some bees are actually harmed during honey harvesting. So if I can reduce demand on those honey and save one bee, I'll save one, while I search for the responsible keepers to support. And GOOD for Sharmane if her country is 100% humane and sustainable 👍
