There's no denying that Lloyd Cole made some fantastic albums.
I'd go further and say he made some fucking amazing music.
HOW is is so criminally underrated????
The best part of the internet is ... all the tapes i lost are suddenly at my finger tips again !! Bravo !!
Oh God.. How good were this group!
Watched Lloyd perform this with his son in Nelson 2 nights ago. Just utterly sublime, time hasn't affected his vocals or guitar work in the slightest. Stunning.
Same here, except in Paris last week - I couldn't agree more, it was truly amazing, he's so incredibly talented (and so is his son!)
Wow cant believe hes still going!!, brilliant!
I've been bought and sold
I've been hung upside down
So you can hear me breathing
Do you think it`s easy
I've been aching all through summer
I've been aching just to fall
Cut me down
I've been billy name and filled my pockets with sand
I've seen everything I hang upon your pretty frown
I have wasted all my summer
I've been aching just to fall
Cut me down
All she had too much class to mention
Were the things he never knew
All the things she left unspoken
Were the things he needed
So I'm not hurting anymore
I've been bought and sold and I've been hung upside down
Can you hear me breathing do you think it`s easy
I may find it hard to follow
I've been aching just to fall
Cut me down
God, i love this song.
Just absolutely love his voice, it's pure soulful. Saw him numerous times with my son. Now this is what you call a classic!!!! You go Lloyd go.
Have you seen the RUclips vids of him in 2018/19? He is still good, if his voice has aged a little it is gentler.
Underrated
Saw him Preston free trade hall April 2017 16th birthday present for our son, totally fantastic, what a lovely bloke when we met him after xxxxx
Takes me back to when I saw them at Manchester Apollo 1989 one of the first gigs I went to and still one of the best I've witnessed this band was a big part of the soundtrack of my life..
can't believe this is so old! still just a brilliant song. genius. love it
Forever Byres Road and forever 1987.
A fluminense FM foi quem me apresentou a essa banda maravilhosa no ano de 1986, INESQUECÍVEL!!!! Ouço LLOYD COLE sempre desde LÁ!!!Que saudade daquele tempo!
I’m Irish and the likes of Lioyd gave us a way out thank you ☘️❤️☘️
Eh?

Lloyd cole me fez ver minha adolescência de uma forma totalmente especial. Até hoje escuto e não tem limites pois escuto todo dia
Great track!
Amazing ❤
What a band.
When music was Real
3 albums and a compilation in their stint together, so many failed to find them till Mainstream.
Timeless
Classic !!
Absolute love for the video... And Lloyd.
Memories. 😊
Brilliant band in glastobury unbleaveble.
He actually disowned the album Easy Pieces that this came from. Took some searching for!
I loved the album back in the days and I love it just as much today. Seriously underrated and this is one of the best tracks.
Why ?, Easy pieces is a brilliant album.
Perhaps he was having, a lost weekend...
One of my top 10 albums to play..all the way through!
Dunno why he disowned it 😐🤔
Good, that's the fire and cat gut I needed for Solstice 😌
I was going to get my violin out for that reason but I didn't
Sausage skins are often used it's related to guts for the coming Earth
This World is crazy
Imagine a World that was
About... outside the office
Music 🎶 Especially Music
Super..
❤
Lloyd cole eres el mejor
this song needs covering
+martin mac Yep, I agree
Only got to number 38 in 1986 in the UK Chart.
Shocking!
The competition was so great back then. Songs then would kick most of the 2000s music out the charts!
@@ButtonPhonics 1986 wasn't good at all in comparison with earlier in the Eighties... at one point in the year (March?) the top three consisted of Cliff Richard & the Young Ones, Samantha Fox and something already old but alright (Sam Cooke) that was only there thanks to a jeans ad. This brilliant song only getting to no. 38 was in that context.
@@HandleGF That auspicious threesome you mentioned assembled in the top 3 positions in the chart first aired on 1st April,so you were pretty accurate - clearly fate had a joke to play on us there!
@@ButtonPhonics UK Top 40 singles chart first aired Tuesday 28th January 1986 (Top o0f the Pops 30th January, week ending 1st February):
1 (1) The Sun Always Shines on TV - A-ha; 2 (8) Only Love - Nana Mouskouri; 3 (2) Walk of Life - Dire Straits; 4 (15) Borderline - Madonna; 5 (4) Broken Wings - Mr Mister; 6 (28) When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going - Billy Ocean; 7 (3) West End Girls - Pet Shop Boys; 8 (10) Suspicious Minds - Fine Young Cannibals; 9 (6) Saturday Love - Cherelle and Alexander O'Neal; 10 (13) System Addict - Five Star
11 (5) You Little Thief - Fergal Sharkey; 12 (21) The Phantom of the Opera - Sarah Brightman and Steve Harley; 13 (9) Alice I Want You Just For Me - Full Force; 14 (12) It's Alright (Baby's Coming Back) - Eurythmics; 15 (20) Pull Up to the Bumper/La Vie En Rose - Grace Jones; 16 (7) Hit That Perfect Beat - Bronski Beat; 17 (NEW) Sanctify Yourself - Simple Minds; 18 (11) Who's Zooming Who? - Aretha Franklin; 19 (31) Living in America - James Brown; 20 (29) In a Lifetime - Clannad and Bono

I think in terms of musical quality most of these would kick the current mainstream hits out of today's charts easily!
Love you m8
