I've never agreed with the term pop music. Pop music would imply popular. Popular is not a genre.
Pale Waves are retro-sim synth-rock. The ONLY reason you should listen, is to give it a try and you will most likely like it or love it. It is poppy and upbeat. The lyrics are very emotional but they are honest lyrics. The musicians play incredibly well together (accenting eachother flawlessly). As a musician of over 3 decades in many instruments and being a singer as well, I hear and see SO much talent here. Pale Waves are my new favorite band. They cheer me up.
I thought they were called Pale Waves because of some deeper meaning I thought of while I was high. But after reading the comments here I think I understand why lol
I like to hear the story behind songs from the artist/s because as the audience it means something else, we can listen and somehow feel like it's personal. Television Romance reminded me of someone that I liked for so long but they kept pushing me away until I got into another relationship and then they were showing interest and I was like I like it but no thanks 💁♀️ which is really funny because suddenly every song they came out with started reminding me of her and now we're dating 🙊

ok at first when i saw pale waves without having ever listened to their music I thought they're music would be sort of heavy rock Andy black type of music, like lots of angry screaming music, which I do not enjoy. but when they opened for the 1975, I fell in love with a couple of their songs and then I looked them up online and now I love them. i haven't heard all of their songs yet but the ones I've heard I've pretty much either enjoyed them or I now love them. but needless to say I am a fan of them now. and no, they were not at all as I was expecting bc they do actually play more pop type of music, not screaming rock. but then again, I was only judging them based off their appearances.

I met the drummer in Liverpool, after their gig, she seems to of come out for a minute, only 1 person their,I'm from Liverpool, and I was with my daughter who is a fan,and shy, so I said this is my daughter,and she said what I'd said back, but skiting, very rude,I would not mimic, a Manchester accent, in Manchester. Getting a big head, and their only new, and they didn't come outside to see their fans,in Liverpool, but they had in Sheffield, the night b4, I'd bought a record, CD, t shirt,and 2 tickets, of their s b4,take Liverpool money,but don't like us
