He's obviusly blind and too into his inner self, which showed most during the Treize duel, always one step back on arguing with someone who's pretty clear on his convictions.

Technically only two gundams in the whole show is successfully destroyed. Noin meanwhile is piloting mook suits, even her Taurus is tissue paper to a gundam and she still keeps up without ever getting hit.

Finally, it's simple for Chinese or eastern warriors that they use such a words(insult in some way) to teach something on someone.
I think "BuTt tEh CaDEtS" is a bad take. He knows its hypocritical. It's why he ends the episode screaming at wolves. That bitterness is as close to a character arc as Wufei gets in this show.
