He's obviusly blind and too into his inner self, which showed most during the Treize duel, always one step back on arguing with someone who's pretty clear on his convictions.

Technically only two gundams in the whole show is successfully destroyed. They're the most busted machines in the whole canon, Wing Zero could shoot it's buster rifle straight at Shenlong and wufei wouldn't die. Noin meanwhile is piloting mook suits, even her Taurus is tissue paper to a gundam and she still keeps up without ever getting hit.
