For those who asked: The command is /give @p [item]{Enchantments:[{id:“[Enchantment]“,lvl:[Level]}]} [item] is meant for the item that should have the Enchantment. [Enchantment] is meant for the Enchantment name (all Lowercase and instead of spaces do a _ ) and [Level] is the Level of the Enchantment. This is an example command for a fire aspect 255 blaze rod: „/give @p blaze_rod{Enchantments:[{id:"minecraft:fire_aspect",lvl:255s}]} 1“. Only works on Java Edition and only in Versions 1.13 and above.

Iirc, the reason why sharpness 255 doesnt one shot the Ender Dragon is because boss mobs have damage caps, so a single hit can only hurt them so much.

Fun fact : the limit is maybe 255 but you can still have higher level by putting the enchant multiple times
Ex: A Diamond sword with Sharpness 255 and Sharpness 255
Fortune 255 on Lapis almost crashed the game for me. Off of one normal-sized vein, I filled up over a double chest.

I haven't checked but... why is it 255? doesn't Minecraft bit system max out at 32767... unless they added some code in the newer updates that make that a genuine limited feature instead just messing with their code...

Through NBT editing you can go all the way to 32767 the 32 bit signed integer limit, and with mods you can go even higher
