Lifehouse is practically the only band I know that sounds better live than on the studio recordings. I definitely enjoy hearing their live songs much more than the radio versions.

As far as where the information came from, the songwriting credits are on the liner notes of the album, and Jude Cole co-wrote the majority of the songs on all of Lifehouse's releases. If you followed Jude Cole's music through the '80s/'90s, you'd hear the similarities in the writing style.
