I like Jamar, and I know what he's trying to get at, but he's conflating two issues here. Victim-blaming is about blaming victims for being victimized, not about blaming victims for victimizing others. R. Kelly CANNOT be held responsible for his own molestation--he did nothing to bring it on himself, and whoever abused him is completely and totally at fault in that situation. However, that doesn't give him a license to become a predator, and in the case of what he has done and is doing to those girls, he's not a victim. The only victim-blaming that can happen there is holding the girls responsible for being his victims rather than calling him out for perpetuating the same abuse done onto him.
Of course that raises an issue of the effects of trauma in sexual abuse and the cycle it creates, but it still doesn't change the fact that he's become the same type of monster that he's had to deal with, and whether you hold him responsible for that or not, something must be done.
I get the point he was making. Lets take Lorraine Bobbitt for example, she cut her husbands penis off, she was made out to be the victim of domestic abuse lol . So what Jamar is asking is, if it is ok in situations like that in which she wasn't held accountable for her actions because she was a "victim", why cant we victimize R.Kelly as well given that he was molested as a child? He's a victim just like Lorraine Bobbitt was a victim, its not fair. It is flawed logic somewhat but Lamar brought up a valid point.

Diane V I’m confused on this whole thing on how everyone’s saying she married him at 15. I read that you need a judge to sign off & parental consent if the individual is 15-13. So it falls on a judge if they’d allow that & 17-16 you need parental consent. So R. Kelly’s victims are victims but also not victims at the same time... where’s the blame for all the parents that gave away their children for money. I’m not defending his actions but idk why everyone only mad at him. And there’s plenty of this type of stuff that’s happened in Hollywood not just R. Kelly... why do people care now?
