Think what both Curtiss and the Wright brothers might have accomplished if they had focused on developing aircraft instead of suing one another in Court? No question the lawsuits hampered aircraft development in the USA and contributed to America being behind the Europeans at the start of WW1. The only ones who ended up ahead were the lawyers. I blame the Wright's more than Curtiss, they went way overboard in their effort to suppress others from competing with them-had they worked together with Curtiss they could have accomplished so much more.
