Your performance was so very enjoyable and wonderful! What a great way to wake up and have morning coffee while you play the cello seemingly effortlessly in the background. But I especially liked that you made eye contact with people in the audience (drawing us in) and then at other times you were lost in the rapture of the cello! Looking forward to seeing/listening to more of your posts. Thank you so much for such a wonderful way to start today. Blessings on you, dearly gifted one!

I love this piece and I listen to it so often, I'm beginning to think that I can identify who the cellist is by the way they interpret it. (of course, only among the cellists, that I listen to.) I just want to say that you play this beautifully! I am moved; and then there's your dog.... how peaceful and contented Willow seems. Blessings to you.......
What a sweet comment! Especially from someone who listens to a lot of Bach. Willow has been listening to me for all of her 11 years of life❣️ my little side kick
I'm very happy that youtube suggest me your video because now this is my favorite version of the prelude ❤ Especially because the sound of the finger on the fingerboard is imperceptible and for this, makes for me better than Yo-Yo Ma version I know, i'm a strange man 😂 Greetings from Italy
"Maestro, Maestro! The coach from Vienna has arrived! Herr Scholmburger is here, at last! " The young towheaded boy ran up the creaky wooden stair case to tell his teacher of the ostentatious arrival of the Mayor of Schweppstenstien. Not that the Mayor was anyone important, but in this sleepy little burg, any visitor was a big deal. "Apen, gut... now, come here and eat your soup, boy. We will go and meet Herr Mayor once we have supped. " The teacher wiped chalk off of his hands, and sat down at the tall wooden table to eat with his nephew. "I have missed mien friend. . We have a lot to discuss....but now, we eat." A bird sang lightly in the cool autumn mid morning breeze, as the oak tree turned from emerald, to gold.
I am not sure if this beautiful post was inspired by Kevin Olusola’s cello-boxing version of this piece but it was a delight to hear it in its entirety and I’m grateful you have made this available so those who have heard Kevin’s rendition now have the option to hear the entire piece.
@@whitewillowstrings Yes, back somewhere around 2011 Kevin was a Pre-Med student at Yale and was contacted by Pentatonix because they needed a beatboxer for the group they were forming and competing in an upcomng NBC show (Sing-Off). Ultimately, Kevin answered the call and gave up his medical career to play with Pentatonix professionally. He has a number of Cello-boxing songs out there that I recommend you listen to because you are a cellist (Down and Renegade are two of his best) and an extraordinarily beautiful arrangement of Stay With Me (Sam Smith cover). Kevin uses looping quite a bit with his cello-boxing and you would be in a better position than most to appreciate what he is doing. The following link goes to a performance where Kevin plays an excerpt from the piece you just performed, then moves on to his final piece (Kevin’s Fifth). Load the video and move the slider over to 5:15 to hear the Bach piece followed by his finale, which is entirely incredible. I love the cello, it is my favorite stringed instrument because of its rich lower tones while keeping the ability to play in a mid-high register.
It was always impossible for me to satisfy my cello teacher with how I played Bach. Everyone has such subjective ideas of how it should be played. There is really no wrong way to do it. Just do what sounds good to you.
Lovely playing and perfect tempo! I just recently started learning this (sounding nowhere nearly as nice as you though!). Is your version Tortelier (or maybe similar)? That's what I'm working from and I love the bowing and phrasing, so very musical. Great job, maybe I will post a video when I get half as good as yours haha! 👏
Beautiful performance. I use to play this piece on my classical guitar. But maybe I am playing a wrong note. When you press your pinkie finger at 1:02min. Shouldn´t be the next note? In my sheet music is C#? Please, let me know so I can fix my sheet music. Thank you in advance!
