- New Castle is the county seat of Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is 50 miles (80 km) northwest of Pittsburgh, and near the Pennsylvania-Ohio border, just 18 miles (29 km) southeast of Youngstown, Ohio. As of the 2020 U.S. Census, the city had a population of 21,926.[3] It is the commercial center of a fertile agricultural region,[4] officially the New Castle, PA Micropolitan Statistical Area, which had a population of 86,070 in 2020. New Castle also anchors the northwestern part of the Pittsburgh-New Castle-Weirton, PA-WV-OH Combined Statistical Area.

Thank you for the video; nice ride around the town there. I have seen some really nice real estate there for sale but I also read that the crime is very high there. Is there a certain area to stay away from and is the crime rate high as I see online? Looks like a quiet place to settle for a retiree.

Thank you Justin, I enjoyed the video although I must admit a bit melancholy. My father had his business on the Dimond. I wish you could have experienced what New Castle was like back in the day. The landmarks should give you some idea. On Saturday the sidewalk was full of people wall to wall. The aroma of coffee and chili dogs filled the air. Anyway now retired on the other side of the world.
Moving to New Castle. Looking forward to exploring the sites.
NOTHING is in this city. You see the most of it in this video. No sites to see... literally. Depressed area. I have lived here 51 years and its the worst it has EVER been. Sad but true.
It's depressed, but really nice people here. I'm not a native, but I like it. There are some beautiful historic homes here, as well as the larger churches and other public buildings in this video. Also, the cost of living is low.

I live on the west side of new castle pa 5 min away from downtown
I've been living in New Castle for 21 years it's a tiny Town it's for you to raise your family we do have a lot of drug addicts here but other than that it's a good town to come visit
We are known for the fireworks

We're also known for our hot dogs and the Warner Brothers theater which I believe is the first one.

Also to those reading this comment and have to stay for even a night STAY AWAY FROM THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE CITY, it's the most dangerous part of this hell hole.

@@GuyDaniels1991 I know there's worse out there, I've been to Johnstown, PA.
I moved to the New Castle area almost a year ago (Hickory Township). And New Castle is not as bad as I thought it would be. I travel to Atlanta for work alot and it's far worse than New Castle. I walked around in New Castle and never got bothered but people are violent even in broad daylight in Atlanta.
