- can almost always be brought back to life and very quickly. Hydrangea may collapse even after a short break between waterings or from extreme heat. This often happens with hydrangea as it is very moisture demanding. Often, many people think that the plant has died and the bush like mine normally ends up in the garbage. So how to get hydrangeas to hydrate quickly and efficiently. I often hear that many people, when even watering the plant, do not get the result, or it takes a lot of time. I'll show you how you can reverse dehydration just in a couple of hours. Look how hydrangea roots look like. The soil inside is very dry and the roots are dehydrated. If such a pot is watered from the top, then the very dry, crumpled earth and saturated with air is not able to absorb moisture and all the water simply flows around a lump of soil to pour out, although you will think that you have watered the plant. I'll water the hydrangea by immersion to make sure the soil gets wet. But many people know about this and what is new here! But I have my own secrets as a florist as I will show how to revive plant quickly. I will prepare warm water by adding boiling water to a bucket of water. #Hydrangeas # dehydratedhydrangea #dehydrated #hydrangeaplants #flowergardening #gardening #gardeningtips #growingflowers #revival #rehydrate

Fascinating! Now I just need to go out and buy a refrigerator for refreshing my plants.
This just saved my new hydrangea that I was afraid I’d killed before I could plant it. Thank you!
I was in that same boat. Lol
Same!!!
It worked with a gardenia! I bought a large amount of plants including hydrangeas and gardenias for my balcony garden. One gardenia fell through the cracks while I was repotting. It was dry and the leaves were matte and they looked crispy. Feeling guilty, and that there was nothing to lose, I put the plant in its plastic pot into a very large kitchen mixing bowl. I filled the bowl to the top with very hot tap water and after an hour or so I repeated. In the morning I was shocked to see that the leaves were once again shiny, bright green and the plant looked like nothing had ever been wrong. It's now on the balcony beautiful, budding and seems to be very happy. Thank you very much!!!!
Hello,so very HOT tap water ??how long was the flower in the hot water?
When you said "temperature is a catalyst for biological process" I hit the subscribe button and turned on the notification bell. Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial and keep up the excellent work.
Sameeee 😺🥰
Wow thank you so much for showing your skills!! I was able to bring my hydrangeas overnight! Thank you sooo much
wow. i bought a plant last night to gift a few days later and noticed it was already withering today. thought i just wasted $25, but this worked! amazing. thank you so much.
I'm in a store right now. They have many hydrangeas clearance. 4 and $5. I looked for videos on your thing could be brought back to life. And saw this one. Simple and to the point. I'm going to try this and hopefully it works. Thanks for their time lapse video. That's beautiful
I tried this method yesterday and the flowers look alive again. Thank you!
I tried this yesterday- should have taken the before and after photos. My hydrangea looks happy and healthy! Thanks.
Holy smokes!!! Thank you @classyflowers!!! This totally worked and revived my newly bought hydrangea that immediately wilted overnight. In a few hours BOOM they were back alive. 😮❤ Hoping I can find other video in how to transplant outdoors as my finicky drangea seems to favor indoor.
Great info. I just bought a couple of clearance hydrangeas (same brand as yours) and I'm going to try this out today!
Great info, if only I had a commercial fridge. But, what about hydrangeas planted in the ground during 100° weather in the shade?
i cannot thank you enough for this video!!!!!!! i bought my mom a gorgeous blue hydrangea for mother’s day but it decided to wilt last night and i was devastated! i had been keeping such a close eye on it since i bought it on tuesday, and i couldn’t believe it wilted! anyways, i found your video this morning and followed all the steps as best as i could and it looks as good as new now! i can’t wait for my mom to see it tomorrow. you’re truly a lifesaver, THANK YOU!!!!! 😊🙏
Wow, I just bought 4 of those summer crush Hydraengas from Menards and yes, they were like $30 each. Good to see it is resilient though, and hardy to -30.
This just saved my new pink hydrangea..it was being attacked by spider mites😢 I sprinkled it with Diatomaceous Earth..let it sit for 2 days then sprayed it with water & fed it with water & neem the drooping continued for 2 more days til now..saw you video and submerged in an oversized pot & put it in the fridge..pruned the severely damaged petals & leaves & .It's back to being perky and bright..never subbed so fast thank you!
Thank you for posting this! I am terrible with plants, but I want to learn how to take care of them. You seem to have very practical tips which CAN be done by a “beginner”. I love the time lapse video. In just a few minutes, I have learned SO MUCH! Thank you!
I adore plants and flowers. When I go to the supermarket I look to see if there is any that needs help. Sometimes, I find one so I bring It home just to save it, 99% it works and it becoms just beautiful and strong. Thank you for your video, there is always more and more to learn. Cheers from Italy 💐
Do you always get a discount when they're in that stage of dying?
@@SarahSobieski I only know a flower shop, near my home, that offers a discount when plants and flowers are so bad they cannot be sold, or they give them away for free if they should be thrown away.
You saved my hydrangeas thank you so much!
Thank you for have saved my Hydrangea!! It worked, it was easy and efficient!! Thank you so much!
Thank you girl just saved my plant
What a fabulous share!
Thank you for sharing. Beautiful. My favourite plant😍. I appreciate you sharing this information, thanks. 🇬🇧💛🤍
thank you so much for your video, so helpful and save for my new hydrangea from dying.
Wow i love beautiful flower thanks for your tips
Wow!!! Thank you. Though I have a question, how do you save a reported plant flower, that's wilting, and flowers are dying. Yes it's an indoor plant, and I have bottom water her, and made sure she gets enough artificial light. Is it the same method?
This worked amazingly ❤
Thank you! You just saved my hydrangea that i bought yesterday. Now it's strong again! Many many thanks 🙏❤️❤️
What about when a plant is already planted, what do you do when the leaves turn brown ?
Wow, very impressive! Gonna look in the sale section first from now on!
Wow! You are amazing!
What do I do my Hydrangea "Merritt Supreme" leaves have turned almost black. Is it due to the unusual cold weather I have on the west coast of Canada (Surrey BC). Only 1 pot out of my 4 pots that shows the most black leaves. Oh the flowers are still nice and full.
Thank you for the tip, I'll try this on my grandma's plant, hopefully it'll live :)
That’s a brilliant save! Not just cutting it and soak in tue water. 😇😍🥰
This is amazing. Thank you
Putting the plant in a cool room or a refrigerator is all well and good if you have a flower shop or live in a cold climate. But the average person does not have a cool room or a refrigerator large enough to put a potted plant in it so what do you do then?
Thank you very much!! Have an amazing day!!
Wow! I learned something new. I will definitely try that. Thank you
OMG! beautiful! 😊 thank you for sharing
Excellent video!
Excellent video! Thank you!
Beautiful flowers 💐
Thank you. Great tips 🌺🌷🌻
Would this work for Junipers or you have another way a drying juniper? Thank you
can you help my plant please? I either put too much miracle grow in the soil or when i transplanted it from the pot to the ground and back to a larger pot (to get it out of the heat), I shocked it? The stems look very healthy but all the flowers are like potato chips. What should I do please...
That was excellent…..thanks!
Sadly this didn't work for mine - it seems to be drier/crispier now but it was worth a shot! Thanks for the video :)
How many times do you have to water them. My grandmother just bought some so I’m trying to keep them alive for her.
Hi, this worked so great! A few days later I had the same problem so I repeated the process however I forgot the plant in the fridge overnight :( I’ve since taken it out of the fridge and it’s still looking rather sad and wilted. Any advice?
you rock! this is amazing
Thank you for the tips
Amazing! Thanks.
Thank you, this totally works!
🦔🦔🦔Really enjoying your video!! Thank you so much for sharing! 💚👍🏻🦔🦔🦔

New subscriber thank you for sharing ❤
Impressed…👏🏻😁😍
Thank you 🙏🏻😍❤️🇲🇴
Amazing 👏🏽
Genius!
Great thanks
Thank You !!!
I just got hydrangeas but I’m not sure with the stems are supposed to even look like! The stems are green with brown spots. And near the soil it’s brown… I don’t know if that is bad or not. And the petals are flimsy and drooping. I tried this method. Hopefully something works soon I don’t want them to die 😭
Amazing! !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you
What was that first step (before the hot water)- she repotted it, is that it? Wasn't clear to me- thanks
I have absolutely no experience with flowers. I followed this process, after 2 hours I took the flowers out of my fridge and replaced the water, I put them back in for another hour and they look amazing.
So did this overnight and now their dying even more and I'm thinking maybe I should take it out of the pot and let dry a little like the roots are soaked. I was trying to keep this indoors I live in a apartment. But I'm worried the stems and leaves are looking good but without stabilization they fall down so I wrapped hemp cord around them to keep them upright. The only thing that looks bad is the flowerheads they are dying and drooping so I think I gave them too much water. What do you suggest? Do they need to be outside for a day or a few days should I pull them out of the pot and let the roots dry?
Are you sure that it wasn’t damaged by freezing temperature. Anyway, do not dry hydrangea roots outside of the pot , it will kill hydrangea irreversibly. If you think it is due overwatering just stop watering until soil in the pot will dry out again, let all the dead leaves dry out too and remove them, together with dead flowers. I had hydrangea like this before, I make it naked and leave it alone, so soon it will grow again from green buds on the stems.
What if the plant is in the ground already
My hydrangea are. Planted in ground what can I do?
When I get dehydrated...while on my SAILBOAT...I, too, completely immerse myself in the ocean for a few minutes.
WHO KNEW?
what do i do if my hydrangea isnt in a pot ? mine is in our garden and is in the ground
and i dont have any pots 😭
I’m confused. I don’t understand how the water got inside the plant to make it moist if you immersed it inside the pot? Was it the heat from the water.
I’m watching over my neighbors plants and flowers her forget me not look droopy when I went over to water in the evening today. I have a feeling because it was in the high 90s the plant didn’t like it. Oh boy
So can you plant them in Sun or not ?
I followed this video to try to save my wilting hydrangea plant. The flowers were looking droopy but not brown when I started but after following this video, 50% of the flowers turned brown within 2 hours and the rest ended up even droopier than before 😭. Maybe the reason why my plant was wilting wasn’t dehydration so this process ended up speeding up the wilting instead of helping.
goddess of florals???
Hi, i have a question. All my leafes had fungal infection, so i removed them. I had so many new buds, bud all of them now have brown spots 😢 what is the problem?
Fungal infection may kill it. Try to plant it outside in sunny area
Nobody says if this has to be far from the sun or under the sun or what? Bagged or bottled??
Actually we do not use potato for stimulating root growth. I have heard that some people have had success which was pure luck I think. My wife has been very successful just putting the stem in a pot of soil. I couldn’t help but notice your potato died. Ours survived and grew when planted in dirt. Might I suggest a misting of water on the rose stem in a partial shaded area in your garden. We do not use any jars over the top of the stem however we are in Arizona. It’s hot enough here to of need it. Good luck
When is the best time to do these steps am or evening
When you find your hydrangea dehydrated, you should do it immediately
i wait for home depo by the end of august an go in an i give them an offer of 5-10 dollars for each plant an normally they sell them for that just to get rid of them, an they come back beautiful havent had one die , each year they come back with beautiful flowers,, so i made a fence line with my hydrangea bushes, since in my area where i live not allowed a fence only natural bushes or trees you can use for a privacy , it works,
If all of the blooms are dead but the leaves are green is it still salvageable?
Yes
Wow
How do you fit a plant into a refrigerator?
We have a big floral fridge
@@Classyflowers Lol ah ok! But I followed some of your advice anyway about the water combined with placing a plastic bag over the vase overnight. It worked very well as I left it outside and it was a cool night. The plant does look a lot better (leaves are less wilted) so thanks for the advice. 😀
So the roots are warmed but the plant needs to be in a cold atmosphere- yes ? And is this the method for all flowering plants?
Yes, to reduce evaporation and loss of moisture.
@@Classyflowers thank you 😊 I’ve subscribed and hit the notification button
It revived so well, even the camera can now focus on it!
True Camera was out of focus
How is everyone refrigerating it?
I’m wondering that too.
I need to know you guys are putting a big pot inside the refrigerator 😆 I know it doesn't fit in mine
I have a question ? Is it true that plants feel you cutting them ? Pulling on them too . I was told they feel pain ? May sound stupid but is it true
I think so
Thank you so much for this trick. It revived my hydrangea completely...😊
I did this trick and it perked up well and now it’s dropped almost all of its leaves
It will grow new leaves from the buds. Plant it outside when it will be warm enough
Basically just water it then.
and dumpster diving ?
I just call it butt chugging. 😂
Don't touch the flowers!!!! They will get brown spots. Justvadd water 💧
lady was supposed to come on 16th and didnt show up
All it needed was water. Hydrangeas always do that cause it love water. That one in your hand suffered from neglect. So sad.
