  • For this weeks video I want to discuss sepsis! We can define this as a life threatening organ dysfunction from a dysregulated host response to an infection.
The most common locations for the infection are from the urine or lungs (pneumonia, UTI, etc).
The mortality rate for sepsis can be as high as 30%, as high as 50% for severe sepsis, and as high as 80% for septic shock. So, it's definitely something to take seriously.
In regards to definitions, we've seen many changes over the years, that we'll review here - along with the SOFA score and the changes made to the criteria.
    So, let's jump right in!

@MEDGEEKS Hello, I've been diagnosed with folliculitis since 2013 caused by staphylococcus infection. I also had furnacles & fear that I may have Sepsis. I heard that this is a uncurable deadly disease & I'm afraid to die from this. I don't know what to do.
