    Maybe I'm crazy, but I feel like if its priced like a first party controller, it should feel like a first party controller.

    • @coolioam8137
      @coolioam8137 Год назад +70

      That’s my main problem with all these “GameCube” feel joycons. None of them have that first party quality and that’s a huge issue for me.
      Also a HUGE fan of what you do in the modding community, absolutely amazing stuff.

    • @RockerGaming
      @RockerGaming Год назад +21

      I agree with shank on this point, I have a bunch of other small grips with the controller too, but the main one is price... just buy a pro controller for the $ or a oem gcc if you're gonna play smash.

    • @TestTypeG
      @TestTypeG Год назад +1

      It's a bit pricey for 3rd party, but it's still cheaper. They are $70 instead of the $80 for official joy-con. The video claims $80, but that is wrong.

    • @coolioam8137
      @coolioam8137 Год назад +11

      @@TestTypeG However you may feel on them, official Joycon have a lot of advanced tech packed into them, and besides the whole drift thing, are pretty high quality controllers. I’ve never gotten drift and actually quiet enjoy them, but I understand the uncomforbility with them.

    • @TestTypeG
      @TestTypeG Год назад +3

      @@coolioam8137 I'm not saying the price on the official joy-con isn't justified, although it it is quite high. I've never gotten drift myself either, but I find them extremely uncomfortable and avoid using them at all times, so that might explain why don't drift. They have still gotten plenty of use since 2018.

  • @freakingwilly
    @freakingwilly Год назад +202

    Surprised you didn't touch on the Nyxi Wizard's biggest (and most important, IMO) key feature: Hall effect joysticks. These are the kind of sticks that use magnets rather than potentiometers, so they are significantly more accurate and will not experience physical wear, so they will never develop stick drift.

      I thought the same too. The one of the major reason I bought these is cause of the HES.

    • @psp4gamer
      @psp4gamer Год назад +5

      @@latch21Take in mind the sticks are getting on pretty much anything, and the technology in context is old. The only new thing that i can say about this controller and pretty much every hall effect, its the smoothness, and that it will survive a lot longer.

    • @freakingwilly
      @freakingwilly Год назад +8

      @@xelil. True, but this is a GameCube style controller. Both the Gulikit and the 8bitdo are still "Xbox" style controllers. If you take into account the hall effect sticks, instant response shoulder buttons, and GameCube layout, you basically have the greatest Smash Ultimate controller.
      Unfortunately, due to the Turbo function, it would be banned in most (if not all) local tournaments.

  • @128KB
    @128KB Год назад +24

    We were one of the first to get our hands on a sample, the biggest standout to me was the Hall Effect sensing joystick modules. Zero drift and deadzone is a huge pro and partly why it's so expensive. I modded it with OG GC joystick caps too to make it that bit better.

So many controllers I've bought for the switch and they do not pair as a switch pro controller so you can't configure the button layout on them and that is one major downside for me. I had one from GameStop the other week that was like a mini analog joystick controller SNES type thing and it was awesome but it would not let me configure the buttons and that was a big turned off so I went ahead and returned it.

    I bought the Nyxi Wizard, and I’m not impressed. The plastic feels cheep, the color is off, and the casting shows imperfections. I feel like everyone has been paid to say good things about it.

      I dont see how they could because the internals are recognized as joycons.
