I. Run a drama group in the UK and my kids are older than these children, 7-11 year olds. I really like the the approach that this teacher takes. I enjoyed watching these videos. He really engages them in the activities and you can tell that they love it 🎭
I have been using this warm up off and on for 3 years now with my British Primary School pupils. The children really love it - and are surprised by it every time! Thank you for sharing it.
I think that warm up exercises are important to start any drama session. In the old days in our drama group (also in the UK) we didn't do them but I that the children are much better prepared to get into the groove after a warm up. The children in my group are older- 7-11 so the warm ups are more sophisticated and varied but I always emphasize the importance of warm ups. They will be especially important when the kids come back after lockdown
Thanks for this! Im going to try some of these ideas for my ESL drama kindergarten class. Although my students all have very limited English skills, so I hope they can follow along!
Wonderful age appropriate warm up, but I can't help but note that the instructor made a point in addressing several male individuals by name and encouraging them (*no doubt because of helping with positive reinforcement to guide behaviour), but neglected to address any females for their efforts, except at one point addressing a group of girls saying "ladies". This is a great example of unintentional bias in a classroom, and if you're a new educator/student, it's worth noting and thinking how you can change that in your own practise.

I love this. There are so many benefits to his instruction. He's really perfecting their listening skills as much as their confidence. Brilliant!
I used to be a "Drama Mama" and this is one great teacher...
I’ve been using this and the children love it! I would love to know more about the teacher. He’s great at what he does!
Excellent!! Wonderful Efforts 👍
