Word of advice from someone who has an interior design background, the space between the guests and the hosts is too far apart, creating that distant atmosphere. Also, the colour gives that cold effect, hence that sense of unfriendly feeling the fans are experiencing as well as everyone in that studio. You guys don't have to go back to the previous design plan but I suggest going towards a closer space for a free and less rigid interaction between people on set. Brighter colours too for contrast, please :-) We love you, ASC, but listen to your fans.
yeah when they initally revealed it i thought it was just the bare bones and was waiting for them to bring in something to filll the space but they didnt.. its so empty it really emphasises the seperation and cold feeling, in graphic design theres got to be a balance between negative or white space and positive space and that stands the same for interior and set design. most interview show have the hosts and guests pretty close, even on the same couch, to bring you in. this layout just feels like the opposite and almost pushes you away
I loved how the previous set looked a lot like a real club room compared to the new one. And I have to agree with you on how the overall scheme makes the setting look too cold and pale. I think adding a bit of warmer colors will make the set look more active and lively. And I think the space between the hosts and guests is the same as before; but there's literally nothing in between them which emphasizes the distance and emptiness. To whoever is the set designer in production, i hope they would add more accessories and props at least.

The fact that Day6 was awkward on the new asc just shows how much it has changed. There was a little interaction with Sammy, Jae, and Jimin but it was still so restricted. I hope they can loosen up and be fun like the old acs! At least I get to see Sammy more♡

Yeah I must agree that ASC is quite boring now and I’ve been a fan of the show since Eric and Hanbyul were the hosts. A lot of idols have such strict interviews as it is and ASC was like a comforting space where idols came to be themselves and fans actually had a chance to ask questions that they were curious about. I love Day6 and I got really excited to see them back on the show. It just threw me off not seeing bubbly Wonpil and Jae and Young K not speaking English so much and not seeing Jamie roasting them as usual. Ughh. Bring back the good times.
The biggest mistake ever was they change the set. Its too pale and the guests seems uncomfortable. WTF is happening with ASC nowadays? Please do not change the MCs too much

For a show that's supposed to be for international fans, there was a considerable decrease in the amount of English people speak in the show. Even English speakers like Jae and Young K weren't conversing in it anymore. The subs helped but it was still different from before when the English speakers spoke in it freely. Also, I dunno what kind of change happened, but the last two eps I watched were disappointing. SKZ and DAY6 used to be so comfortable in ASC, but everything seems forced and awkward now. Please, please listen to your fans' feedback.

Yeah, before the English speakers would answer in English most of the time ig and the hosts would translate to Korean. The live translation is nice but it only translates the gist of what they're saying, so when they talk predominantly in Korean the fans miss out on a lot. Korean variety shows at least get subbes by fans afterwards. Also the others would try saying something in English here and there. There's no need for pressure for that ofc, I think some guests did feel a bit pressured, but there's no need for that - it's all just fun. It's nice to hear your favorite artists speak in a language you know. English isn't my native but it's still just so nice to hear them speak in a language I know.
i really missed the old studio T_T day6 seems so nervous with the new asc's format bc the place and also the mcs were so controlling the show so scriptedly,,,,,,,,,,,i hope even tho its a new studio they can bring the fun atmosphere pf asc back!!!! Is it me or the new version has much more Korean than before? Even the fluent/native speakers talk a lot in Korean (with the subs) but not that much in English. It was the same with Stray Kids in the previous episode and I'm a bit disappointed... It was the only show where we could listen to them talk in English (and just listen without needing subs ^^'') YoungK replying in Korean to a question from a Canadian fan with Jimin translating later creates quite the distance too O.o

As a myday, I'll take any Day6 content I can get but it's a shame the new set and format is SOULLESS. The show is called "after school club" but this is more like after school dentist appointment. It also relies more on a script and less on engagement with the actual artist which is a shame. Compare Day6's last ASC visit with this one and you see the show is really struggling to maintain it's comfortable charm. I felt the same way with the latest Stray Kids episode too. Hopefully they can make a few changes as time goes on, ASC Fighting!

Day6 is the best guest to test the new changes they made to the show with the new set, segments, added structure, cause they’re comfortable interacting with the MCs. Really tried giving the new changes a chance, watching every ep from txt. But even as I watched this episode live, there’s still some feeling of emptiness and cold vibes, and that speaks a lot when you have the ideal guests. Honestly wish for the best for ASC to go beyond its 6 years, plus woosung just joined too. So I hope it gets better

Loved seeing my boys on ASC again but this new format ruined everything for me. I've been watching since Hanbyul was on it and this makes me so sad...this new format and this new studio makes everything seem colder and distant. ASC is the only variety that i watched in my 7 years of being a kpop fan, if it stays like this i'll have to pass on this one too. It lost everything that i loved it for, that warm atmosphere, the MCs being friendly and funny, the amount of English they used for us international fans...now everything's gone. I hope you'll listen to us and accept the feedback.
I agree with all the comments about missing the old ASC. In the beginning, the two basic things about it used to be being in English, and talking with fans through hangout. Now these are hardly present at all... Thank you for inviting Day6 though
I’ve been watching ASC for a looooong time because i loved how casual and friendly the show was. The back and forth between the MCs and the guests was incredible and the guest always seemed comfortable. The new ASC seems to lack all of that and it makes me really sad :( if I wanted a structured mostly Korean show I’d watch something else
I reeeeeally love ASC but ever since this season started it's been way to structured and cold. I miss when we focused more on their group dynamics and personality. We could easily learn about things like the album and musuc anywhere else. We came to ASC for the fun side and now it's not there anymore 😪 I miss the old studio. I miss the old after school club set. It seemed more friendly and welcoming but the new one seems a little bit overboard. The MCs also seem awkward now since they are fully going by script and they don't joke around as much as they used to. They seem angry maybe. Maybe angry because of the new set. Kinda makes me sad that Woosung (the new mc) has to MC in that environment. It would of been nice if he was mcing in the old set.
bin jin Here's the problem with that though. This show isn't for Korean fans, it's for international fans. Yes, Korean fans probably watch it, but it's supposed to be geared towards international fans, so they shouldn't be looking to knetz for feedback.
For this episode specifically, if i would amswer the question why the episode feels cold...it's really because of the set. Because tbh, i liked the way the guests interacted with the MCs (mainly because they're friends). but idk. it may just be me.
This new set has lost ASCs liveliness. Everything seems so cold and the things to sit seem so uncomfortable. I feel that the set makes the idols uncomfortable and that in turn makes me uncomfortable. The segments also feel less personal. And lastly maybe it's just me, but ASC was a fun show to see idols try to speak in English, but I see that less and less with the new segments.
The old ASC is missed so much. It felt a lot more homey and the guests seemed to be more opened to having fun. But congratulations ASC we love y’all thank you for all these amazing memories. 💛

I get it’s 6 years and they probably want it to look more different , but itssss too boring now it feels very scripty , At first with Hanbyul and Eric (and Kevin) stared it was cheerful bright inviting ,now it just looks so blah , just like any other Korean show , asc is not for the i- fans anymore and it shows how the writers are doing the scrips and shit.

ngl asc seems to be way more formal and script orientated. It seems to be hella structured and almost dull i'm not a fan of the whole album talk segment it goes on for just a bit too long. The interactions between the guests and the host feel less fun now if you get what i mean. i'm not tryna shit on everything but the whole set now helps enforce a cold and less comforting environment for the idols making some of them more nervous. Not loving it. Still happy to see my boys day6 tho i'll watch them no matter how much i dislike the new asc lol

I agree the set is cold and the script seems a little overpowering, but don’t give up asc just yet, with every change comes an adaptation period. Hopefully it’ll warm up soon!! With that I do hope they listen to fans and perhaps add warmer colors to the set, and have the MC’s and guests be closer, also make the script closer in format to the old one with more genuine interactions from the MC’s that always made asc so much fun and separated it from other shows.

Missing the signed CDs they had displayed from previous guests' visits, too - I felt it gave a family vibe/relationship between the guests and ASC.

Loved seeing my boys on ASC again but this new format ruined everything for me. I've been watching since Hanbyul was on it and this makes me so sad...this new format and this new studio makes everything seem colder and distant. ASC is the only variety that i watched in my 7 years of being a kpop fan, if it stays like this i'll have to pass on this one too. It lost everything that i loved it for, that warm atmosphere, the MCs being friendly and funny, the amount of English they used for us international fans...now everything's gone. I hope you'll listen to us and accept the feedback.

I’ve been watching ASC for a looooong time because i loved how casual and friendly the show was. The back and forth between the MCs and the guests was incredible and the guest always seemed comfortable. The new ASC seems to lack all of that and it makes me really sad :( if I wanted a structured mostly Korean show I’d watch something else
i feel like jimin was trying to go easy on the roasting with jae since they haven’t seen each other in awhile so sungjin took all the hits 😂

I reeeeeally love ASC but ever since this season started it's been way to structured and cold. I miss when we focused more on their group dynamics and personality. We could easily learn about things like the album and musuc anywhere else. We came to ASC for the fun side and now it's not there anymore 😪 I miss the old studio. Anyone else think the book segment is kinda boring?

I miss the old after school club set. It seemed more friendly and welcoming but the new one seems a little bit overboard. The MCs also seem awkward now since they are fully going by script and they don't joke around as much as they used to. They seem angry maybe. Maybe angry because of the new set. Kinda makes me sad that Woosung (the new mc) has to MC in that environment. It would of been nice if he was mcing in the old set.
Jimin's too good for ACS now, they should have trusted her to lead. Were these changes because of lower viewership? I don't know what's happened...

bin jin Here's the problem with that though. This show isn't for Korean fans, it's for international fans. Yes, Korean fans probably watch it, but it's supposed to be geared towards international fans, so they shouldn't be looking to knetz for feedback.

For this episode specifically, if i would amswer the question why the episode feels cold...it's really because of the set. Because tbh, i liked the way the guests interacted with the MCs (mainly because they're friends).

This new set has lost ASCs liveliness. Everything seems so cold and the things to sit seem so uncomfortable. I feel that the set makes the idols uncomfortable and that in turn makes me uncomfortable. The segments also feel less personal.
And lastly maybe it's just me, but ASC was a fun show to see idols try to speak in English, but I see that less and less with the new segments.

I get it’s 6 years and they probably want it to look more different , but itssss too boring now it feels very scripty , At first with Hanbyul and Eric (and Kevin) stared it was cheerful bright inviting ,now it just looks so blah , just like any other Korean show , asc is not for the i- fans anymore and it shows how the writers are doing the scrips and shit.

ngl asc seems to be way more formal and script orientated. It seems to be hella structured and almost dull i'm not a fan of the whole album talk segment it goes on for just a bit too long. The interactions between the guests and the host feel less fun now if you get what i mean. i'm not tryna shit on everything but the whole set now helps enforce a cold and less comforting environment for the idols making some of them more nervous. Not loving it. Still happy to see my boys day6 tho i'll watch them no matter how much i dislike the new asc lol

I agree the set is cold and the script seems a little overpowering, but don’t give up asc just yet, with every change comes an adaptation period. Hopefully it’ll warm up soon!! With that I do hope they listen to fans and perhaps add warmer colors to the set, and have the MC’s and guests be closer, also make the script closer in format to the old one with more genuine interactions from the MC’s that always made asc so much fun and separated it from other shows.

This new concept has less interaction with the fans. And don’t even mention about the set. The theme kinda dull and looks so empty. I wonder what happen to the old set tho? 🤔 Do they have to cut some budget or what? However I’m thankful that Day6 could be the guest for asc’s anniversary. Really miss to watch them on show so much!

yeah they literally took the most boring part of the old show (Album Talk) and made it like half the show! it's confusing and not fun at all, i miss how fun it used to be! and yeah it's basically all in korean now, this show was supposed to be for international fans but it kinda seems like any other korean show now
They have two members speaking English and yet on this episode i heard more korean not only from the members but the MC than in any other episode with a non English speaker group. 😂
