not having a Super Bowl is not about the stadium, it's that Uptown is very small and compact in comparison to a place like Atlanta and we do not have enough hotel capacity
If the Panthers ever do get a new stadium I hope they hire a great architect and firm for that, I don’t want to see a cookie cutter stadium but something truly unique and incredible
Boa is not a toilet tho. I’m a CLT FC season tix holder and I like the stadium. Is it old? Sure. Is it falling apart or put of date? No. It’s generally fine. We need the update but the stadium in general is fine.
So because it doesn't have a roof, it's an "outdated toilet"? Actually go there and form your own opinion, as oppose to listening to some other yters opinion.
@JesseDiebolt I see where you did not get the context of what I posted. I did not say that the stadium is a toilet. I was saying putting a roof on an outdated stadium doesn't solve the problem. Boa is still in good shape for it's age. The problem remains having that stadium compete with the newer stadiums for events.
@@ricky257 I did not call the stadium a toilet. I gave an example of how a roof does not solve the problem of keeping up with the newer stadiums. I would also invite you not to assume I have not been there. Because I have. Multiple times. It is a good stadium.
@@Marcus2839 yeah I mean I get that but I don’t get the sense that they’re just gonna throw a roof on it while everything else stays the same. It’s definitely going to be a pretty expansive renovation
I’m CLTFC season tix holder and Panthers fan. I was just at the stadium tonight. The stadium is fine but obviously we need upgrades. However, I will say I don’t want the stadium to move. The location is flawless and is really special on a game day. Nobody in CLT wants a drastic move to another location in the city. The only possibly good move would be the Pipe Foundry location across the street but I’m pretty sure that’s already be all but confirmed to not be happening. I’m pretty confident that the stadium will be renovated. One key thing here is that they’re in the midst of rezoning the practice field area which is behind the stadium. They’re planning on building a full indoor facility and redoing the fields. They’ve already started on renovation back there and training camp will be held there starting this summer. You passed over the soccer aspect but CLTFC is very popular here and 2nd highest attendance in the MLS at over 30k per game. We set attendance record for MLS in first game with full stadium. The team and fans enjoy the large grand atmosphere and the overall sentiment isn’t in favor of a soccer specific stadium.
The only other area that a new stadium might be considered is near the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The Smith family has a very close relationship with the Panthers, they even tried to buy the organization when it went up for sale. I highly doubt the Panthers sould relocate to a differentil part of the city as they are in the best location.
Yup...in Tigrerville.... our facilities will get that house absolutely stuff to the gills with 88,000 Plus... we actually have the capacity to do 96,400+.. but the "league" wouldn't let us really kick the tires on that.... and those numbers are from the version of the stadium that I played in...... they've actually added 4800 seats since... and even with these numbers here it looks like the Valley can fit 100,000 but the school will never do it.... there are limits to John Heisman field... yes people that Heisman
My idea: 1) build a new domed stadium that could hold a Super Bowl, Final Four and Wrestlemania in the future. 2) transform BoA into a smaller stadium and have that serve as the home of Charlotte FC by taking off the top deck and building a roof to make it more like a soccer stadium
I can’t think of a stadium that they actually converted into a dome especially with a retractable roof, it’s gotta be an engineering nightmare. As a panthers fan I’d rather have a canopy like hard rock whether it’s in a new stadium or a renovation
One possible location to build would be near Carowinds. Original plans did have them building there with the 50 yard line on the state line back in the 90s.
Yes, because having a stadium off the side of the interstate is a smart idea. So in about 20 years, they'll want to move back into Uptown. That sounds kinda familiar... Oh yeah.. the Hornets 😂
Would love to see the Panthers get a domed stadium in the future tbh I am with this guy on that,I like open door stadiums more but with the way the league is going with domes that era of primarily open air stadiums will be gone in the future so might as well get around the curve before half of the teams in the NFL have domes
The location and all is too good. A solid renovation would be great. Add a roof or a overhang would change it up significantly. The concourse needs to get dressed up. CFC and the Panthers can play at a nearby college stadium for a while
David tepper can afford it he is worth $20 billion dollars he can invest 1.2 billion dollars into renovating the stadium or going for a 3 billion dollar stadium
There’s nothing wrong with this stadium I’ve had to say this every time you make a video on this absurd topic. I grew up in NC brother, a new stadium isn’t happening fam stop saying that bs
There will be zero support for public funds because Tepper is a terrible owner who has alienated his fan base and the community. He’s already screwed South Carolina for a half-built and abandoned Panther training complex. The stadium is perfectly serviceable for the product it provides. Season ticket holders can’t unload their PSL rights because the team is so bad thanks to Tepper.
In this situation even tho I am Pro Public funding. You might be right about Tepper. But don't fight billionaires. You guys could lose your team and never get it back for like 25 years. So just be careful
@@sirchi8731 I can envision him being that petulant. However, he’d have to get the approval of the NFL and MLS as he owns CFC and the Panthers. As well, I can’t see another city shelling out public funds for a multi-billionaire owner.
I’ve been to the this stadium around 5 times this year and I really hope it gets a full renovation just because of the location. If it was located anywhere else in Charlotte I would be on board for an entirely new stadium but the location its already in is perfect. It would be great if they tore down the exterior and gave it a modern facelift as well as a roof.
Yes "Melancholy Orange".... I'm in tigerville and my family is bred to play sports at Clemson and when you are used to , with the facilities and the atmosphere and it's always been that way just incredibly incredibly impressive it makes the shortcomings of the Queens City Stadium very very apparent. And the fact that Death Valley hosted the first two seasons of Carolina Panthers home games... I can tell you that's where the team needs to be located not in Charlotte. I will tell you this Ginger.... you've never seen a more discomforting sight to the eyes being surrounded by all that white purple and orange and then you throw in the Carolina Panthers colors on top of it it was a Vincent van Gogh of WTF?!?!...times good times there.. saw Johnny money Manziel with all his hype come in there and play like three plays and yet he was gone(May have been his 1st start actually)and then probably the most rain that's ever been seen in an NFL game(Dec 20th 2013 or '14 maybe). I don't know because I was there and I did not see it on a "Tell-A-Vision"... but it is the most rain I have ever seen in my life. it was so incredibly impressive and downright miserable. Speaking of the Carolina Panthers...I have a stacked pile of Christian McCaffrey rookie cards from my own personal collection that is going to be hitting the market this w/e... I would advise anybody invest while you can
I could see them getting a new translucent roof stadium but I’d demolish the upper deck at Bank of America stadium and leave the middle and lower level and add a large awning and convert it into a soccer only stadium

Charlotte is larger, and twice the size of Atlanta per square mile.
Give some talented engineers and architects ample time and let them loose a little and they could come up with something good for 1.2 billion
