On November 19, the Sensex closed at 77,578 with a gain of 240 points. Nifty rose 65 points. It closed at 23518. However, the Sensex fell by 873 points from the day's high. In the morning, the Sensex was up by about 1000 points. At the same time, the Nifty slipped 262 points from the upper level. Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 18 saw a rise and 12 saw a decline. Today, auto, energy and IT stocks saw a big rise. M&M's stock rose by 3% and Tata Motors' stock rose by about 1.3%. The Finance Ministry has issued new guidelines to government companies.
