In the 90's they had the first dibs on all the best hooks/samples from music up until then. They could lay a smooth rap like this over it and you get such wonders as this. So many eternal classics from that era. Glad you appreciate!
The movie is “above the rim” it’s a classic movie for sure. Tupac has been in a few movies like “poetic justice” and “Juice” to name a few of the bigger ones
The song intro is from the movie called Young Guns. this song is part of the Above the Rim soundtrack, and the samples is from a Michael McDonald song called "I Keep Forgettin'." Indeed, Tupac Shakur acted in several movies.
2:40 Tupac was in not only a movie but plenty of movies. Before his untimely death, he was gradually transforming into an actor of substance. Above the rim, Juice, Gang Related, GridLock'd, bullet, and the popular Poetic Justice where he co-starred with Janet Jackson
Just because Warren G decided to roll up on some random dice game, those four brother had to unfortunately lose their lives. And after committing a quadruple homicide Nate Dogg decided to get his boy that he just saved from getting robbed and go pick up some girls around the corner. They would have also heard the gunshots and seen them roll up from that direction and still decided to go party with those guys. A lot of people in this story lack situational awareness beginning with Warren G thinking it’s a good idea to try and hop in a dice game in a hood he don’t know, with a bunch of guys he doesn’t know.
First of all I must say that you look beautiful Rachael, about the song it is a good song and brings a lot of weight to the lyrics and what is presented and that's it, keep up the work you are doing and Brazilian greetings to you Rachael! 💚💛💙💚💛💙
Way back in the 90's it was a pretty common thing to see Hip Hop stars in movies. Tupac, Kid and Play (their movie also feature a lot of other artists in supporting roles or cameos like TLC, Salt and Pepper and Queen Latifah who would later star in her own movies), Ice Cube wrote his own damn movie, DMX, Mos Def. LL Cool J, Aaliyah... Marky Mark (AKA Mark Walberg - with a honourable mention to his brother Donnie, who was in the boy band New Kids on the Block and also was in a handful of movies).... Hell, even Vanilla Ice was in a couple of movies, one that was made specifically for him called Cool as Ice. I'm sure there are a ton more. These are just off the top of my head.
Nate Dogg was like a cherry on top of those old school songs
"I keep forgetting" by Michael McDonald is the song you were trying to remember.
dude that was a fkin ear worm for like 5 days

The beginning where they were just talking & ended saying Regulaters mount up. They got that from the movie Young Guns. Which is a good movie.

Regulators, Mount Up! are a line from the movie Young Guns. Was also used by John Randle, Minnesota Vikings when they were in the huddle.

It's hip hop storytelling.A tried and true approach.
Great reaction, funny to see you digest this older style.
From the same era, give Cantaloop (Flip Fantasia) by US3 a listen.
