And the last one I'll do like that, I was seriously worried about the down climb, like, wishing I updated my will worried, LOL, seriously. No more brittle fragile sandstone for me on class 5 climbs. On the smaller down climb just below the summit headwall I did clamp down on a small hand hold, I thought it might break and was prepared for it to come off. . . it came off. My judgement is pretty keen knowing when things are getting "close." That deal was too close. . . It was incredible and I am super glad to share it but wow. I can find something as cool and way safer! Like the next video coming! LOL definitely a harder free solo but on trustworthy rock in a place I'm familiar with. I'm so excited to share it with you!
Props to you for downclimbing that uppermost section. I was really happy to rappel it! And that blue webbing (a Web-o-lette) on the top rappel line was mine that I left. Funny to see that someone else has left that orangeish cord there since then. Nice job!
Honestly, rappelling it would’ve been the wise move like you did. If you ever need support in Colorado or simply advice on video production, drones, or cameras, I’d love to help.
@@KarlDeckerPresents Hmmmmm, who needs to advise whom? Though this is your first video that I've watched, I've seen many of Tristan's. I think you have it backwards if this video is representative of yours. Great video, but IMHO a notch or two short of his. Easier to follow in someone's footsteps after they document a route with an amazing video, unless yours was so soon after his that they were truly independent rather than copycatting.
@@EfficientRVer this video of mine was an original but, one of my very first videos ever, ferns nipple, I found through Tristan. If you’ve ever followed one of his adventures though, there is insufficient evidence for tight route finding, I needed to use many other resources. I love Tristan‘s videos but they aren’t really a how to style. If you do watch other videos of mine I think you’ll find I am a very aggressive climber following others and blazing my own trails as well.
I made the mistake of watching this one before going to sleep - blood is flowing, will be up a while now. Man, want to get back out West. Cool colors and fantastic production! Killer drone shots from the summit!
It is getting hot out there now and the big mountains are still quite snowy, super wet spring, was snowing up there last night! I'm going NUTZ. I got a mini 2 OMG is that thing AWESOME! So light and easy to deploy plus great picture quality, amazing. I think I like it better then the Air 2 but it can't fly over 13k ft. . .the good news is, it can use the same controller as the air 2!!! I can have them both with only an extra 250gms, amazing! Randy, I'm going to share a new awesome drone move I think you will love BUT you have to promise not to share it with anyone. . . will likely do a video on it. . . promise and I'll fill you in on it.
Thanks Karl. The vision you share is so crisp and clear. Amazing colours coupled with some beautiful flying. Well done & congratulations for conquering this difficult climb 🧗♀️ 👍🏻🏅🥂

Greetings from Los Angeles.Nice video man!! And great climb. I’m surely going to take a shot at it when I visit that area again, which has become one of my favorite areas! And you’re right about that distant mountain range. Those are the Henry Mountains. Cheers! Sean.
I actually attempted this and turned back at the last head wall. I had a rattlesnake incident and then my pack tumbled down the mountain, but I had brought a rope and harness to rap down. The heavy pack probably didn't help. I will be back to conquer it again someday! This was actually the first video i recorded with my gopro!
I have been using and abusing an Ultra Spire 25L their biggest pack. They make ultra running packs and it has been AWESOME. Super tough and I think as big as it can be while still allowing me great freedom of movement. The reason I picked it was all the accessible pockets. Including the phone, I carry 4 cameras and the drone cam is the only one I need to remove my pack to get at. It was pricey but is holding up well, it has come with me on just about all of the video shoots I have posted and the majority of them are very rough like this one but generally way longer.

yeah agreed -- I do a lot of similar stuff as you and with the crumbly rock this one turned me back at the top -- doesn't happen much!

This video is awesome, I love to watch it.
Thanks man, I watched you guitar video more then once myself. Great drone moves edited perfectly!

Thanks Sean, surely one of my favorite, yet dicey, ascent/descent adventures in the Swell! Don't take it litely my friend 👍👍
Absolutely fantastic, bro !!! No words :-) :-)
Thanks Man! The climbing on this one was very dangerous though. I will be being a bit more pick about rock quality in the future. . . .
@@KarlDeckerPresents I love it !! :-)
Epic! I would like to hike all but the last climb. Hanging out in the saddle would be a blast.
Appreciate it Randall I absolutely love the Swell and the opportunities for some really awesome adventures, the scenery ain't bad either!!
@@KarlDeckerPresents , it's the next area for many days of Jeeping, hiking, and camping adventure. Hopefully I'll make it out there this fall! :)

Good decision to not go for a summit push that day! Too many ominous signs going up! I won't be going back, one descent was enough for me! 👍👍
Another homerun!
Hey big thanks brother! That descent almost did me in, so desert sketch! Karl 👍

Thank you brother, this is a San Rafael favorite of mine.
