It seemed like my dad always had a station wagon when I was growing up. The first one that I remember was a 1958 Oldsmobile Fiesta station wagon that had factory air conditioning, a rare option back then. It had so much chrome on it, that my dad used to call it the chromemobile. When I was looking at the 1958 Edsel station wagon @52:45, it reminded me of some safety complaints that some people had about the rear taillights when the turn signals were on. If the right turn signal was on, the "arrow" was pointing left, and vice versa. This only occurred on station wagons, as non station wagons had completely different taillights.I Thanks for doing a great job on this video.
06:38 - A 1956 Ford Parklane - their 'answer' to Chevrolet's Nomad. Parklane was a 1956 only version of Ford's Ranch Wagon (2 door station wagon) tarted up with Fairlane stainless trim and seat fabrics. My first car was a '56 Customline Ranch Wagon with T-Bird 312, AC, power brakes... a 2 door wagon with Customline trim, not as 'gussied up' as the Parklane. I called it my _'Poor Man's Nomad'._
The wagon represents a time before internet, before cell phones, when family values meant something ! Riding in the back with the dog a nd the window down ! What freedom we had ! No seat belts ! Car seats or bottled water ! Smoke in public , a plane , restaurant or hospital ! Kids today have missed so much !
Pops had a 64 Chevrolet Impala wagon that loved cuz the headliner had the star pattern material super cool !! But by far the best was the 72 Chevelle wagon HA ! & I have had five count em five 72 El Camino's all through my life. As well as 1970 Camaros & Chevelle's 66 & a 70 1/2 rs Z28 & I love & loved them all miss you Pops !!
,,,,,I am 73,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the 59 dodge was the insane design that inspired the Batmobile,,[ my opinion]....anyway,,, , I have never seen a wagon version..........thanks....
I love how your taking the time to go back through footage and pull certain types of vehicles. Everyone has their favorite car. No matter if your the collector, or the spectator. I think this is a smart idea Matt. Very time consuming, but smart. Got all Mustangs in your future? 😉😉
Awesome job. Thank U for you're time and narration

Love it.. amazing to see so many wagons, panels, etc. Is that 55 from Jim Henson really for sale ?
It was when I filmed it. But no longer. Sold a long time ago.
Thanks, would you happen to know where it might be now, would like to find it and see if its for sale again. @@MattsRadShow
56 150 sedan delivery has 210 trim on it
Yes, just want to be straight, those 59 Chevy wagons are the ones with the ET type alien eyes in the rear.
If all the back windows of those station wagons are closed in, what keeps them from being licensed as a limousine?
Would be nice if they went back to the station wagons, I owned 4 wagons
Dude, are you sure, it looks like the Edsel wagon was only making a display with the utility.
Dam! The ones for sale. Tell us. Can't do nothing without a number and most of all..a price.
