    Hi! I'm a sculptor and I work with epoxy resins, polyurethane foams, solvents like naphtha, spraypaints and aerosols, etc. My current workspace doesn't have any windows and there's no way of effectively ventilating it, since it lies deep in a big warehouse and is very far away from the outside. I have recently moved in and haven't started working with chemicals yet. Can an ozone cannon effectively clean up these VOCS if I use them regularly? My plan is to build a room inside of the space of about 65 square feet to work with these materials so that the gasses don't dissipate throughout the entire space. Thank you!!

    People need to know that you cannot be in the room when running the machine. It is very toxic because it adds an extra molecule of oxygen to the area. Thats what kills the odor. Also. You need to thoroughly air out the room afterwards. Do not atay in that room . Keep it isolated for a few hours while it airs out. They do work though. I got mine from amazon. They have a timer on it that you can set. Hope this precaution helps ya out !

      It van depending on the strength and how much space you are trying to use it on. You also want to look into oxygen concentrates because using the ozone in ambient air or the oxygen that is standing in the room is much less effective since their is only around 21% oxygen in ambient air. Using the oxygen concentrator will increase and allow the ozone generator to be much more effective. If you want to get particles and fibers out of the air, an ozone generAtor (most of them, anyhow) can’t do this, so run a 20x20 square fan with a 10x10 Merve 14 or higher (I recommend Merve 15 or higher) and attach it to the back or front of the fan (or both, you can even stack them between fans) and that will take care of that for you. You can also put that fan in front of the generator since most ozone generators need a fan. Some of them have a cooling system.

    Lets aim it at the sky and fix the ozone layer. LOL
    I used an ozone generator to get the toxic smell out of the convertible top, of our car. The people we bought it from didn't smoke, but I think the people they bought it from did. I know I woyld get a headache after driving the convertible. It always smelled toxic to me. We visited Las Vegas and that's when I found that toxic smell in the convertible, was the same toxic smell in the casinos. It was definitely cigarette smoke. So, when we got home, I put the ozone generator in the car over night. I think the timer only went to an hour and a half. I coukd still smell the cigarette smoke. So I ran it again, at the maximum timer length. This time, the smell was gone. Now I can drive the convertible, without getting a headache. I like the smell of ozone, but I know, I'm not supposed to be breathing it.

    Hello,
    i have a question not specifically concerning your ozone generators but a more general question. Hope, i'll nevertheless get an answer :-)
    My question is about smell removal from old books.
    Will ozone penetrate shut books? Especially thick books? So the smell will not only be removed from the cover and maybe first few pages at the beginning and end of the book but also from the pages in the middle?
    I guess it will work better if the books are fanned out so that the ozone has better direct contact to each single page.
    But it is very difficult or impossible to keep most books nicely fanned out.
    thanks in advance

    • @Sanusaer
      @Sanusaer  4 года назад +4

      may iask hello and thanks for asking a great question. I don’t have personal experience with this particular issue, but know that Ozone is just like air, so if air can get to those pages, then the ozone will as well. My best estimate would be that you would have success with books closed, but it would be improved if the books were able to be opened. Best of luck. By the way, we offer an assortment of high output generators that would work very well for this application.

    • @bratwurst_addict
      @bratwurst_addict 2 года назад +4

      @@janosk8392 Have you ever used an ozone generator?
      As anyone can guess yeah it would take the ozone molecules quite a while to permeate a thick, fully closed book, just as much as air would.
      Say you take a book from a smoking household. Naturally the fringes of the pages will have the strong odor, while the middle of the pages might be about "normal".
      Nothing about how ozone works is either rocket science or snake oil. It works in the way that it works and it is proven to work.
      I happen to have a smelly folder with about 100 pages, left in a place with three unneutered cats and infested by vermin. I'll put that fanned out in the kitchen, let the ozone generator go for a few full hours and if you answer back I'll let you know how it went.

      Contrary to the seller's statement, it's my understanding that the corona discharge type of ozone generator (which is the cheaper type) is NOT the good one. It generates ozone with an electrical arc, which also produces nitric acid in the process. This can corrode metals in the treatment area. The generator type that uses UV light to create ozone does not produce this nitric acid.

    Theres a bit of fearmongering going on here. There are regulations about VOCs in new buildings, and there are very strict controls and limits placed on which VOCs are permissable and in what quantities. @thepenultimateninja5797 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@codygeery9348 The low VOCs are built into the specification for the building before it is built or refitted. All the products used on the project are subject to approval by the architect or designer before the purchase orders are approved. All of this information is sent to the customer upon completion of the project, because they need it for the product warranties to be valid.
      Maybe small private landlords etc dodge the regulations sometimes, but it doesn't happen on professional construction projects. I don't even know why someone would bother dodging them anyway, since the low VOC adhesives etc are easier to handle, and often less expensive.
      It's marketing, but not like you think. Low VOC is a selling point, so all the manufacturers make sure theirs are as low as possible.
      I'm sorry, but I do this for a living, and the scenario you describe simply doesn't happen. Again, maybe small private landlords are an exception, but that's it. Not in developed countries anyway.

      What's artificial is simply what's not naturally occurring. There is no negative or positive connotation yet. As the youtube user %% said, it's important to point out "chemicals" and the implication is negative because if it does affect you...you won't be aware of it.

    "Ozone shock treatments will oxidize radon gas"
    Sorry to say, but thats nonsense!
    Radon is a noble gas and thus wont oxidize or react at all with anything! :P

      I think he said "it will not oxidize Radon"

      Imagine trying to seem smart by correcting something that wasn't even said 😂 A little too eager there, methinks.

    Will these ozone generators kill black mould? And remove it from the air?

    • @Sanusaer
      @Sanusaer  4 года назад +2

      SaucyBegger25 yes it will kill black mold from surfaces and it the air. Of course, you need to make sure to eliminate the moisture source that may be causing the growth of the mold as well or it will return.

      sanusaer thank you. Really appreciate the reply! We are getting quite ill and have been told to change rooms and see how we are in a week or so. I wouldn’t mind getting one of these and doing the hole house 1 room at a time. No idea where moisture is coming from. It’s a rented place. We got a dehumidifier but I guess the problem is worse than we thought

      Hi Saucy, did you ever move out of there and recover?

    • @SaucyBegger25
      @SaucyBegger25 9 месяцев назад

      @@trumpatierhi, we have since moved house yes. We got on well with the neighbours and still talk and they tell us the people living there bought the place and have spent thousands trying to sort the damp problem. I’m glad to say we have a house of our own now and it’s not had any damp 👍🏻. The dehumidifier we was using in the old house was filling up constantly so there was definitely an issue somewhere
