Found my pictures when I was there. It was April 30- may 5. 5 days, 2011. So far everything looks the same . Had Breakfast a couple times where you did today. My pictures said that I was in building 18, 2nd floor room 28 or 228, put I cant remember on the picture. I remember seeing all the fish. I didnt go in the adult area to swim, just looked. When you were in the water , you mentioned the path and steps. I followed the path to the ocean on the left and up on a little hill there was a small Mayan ruin, where I took my picture several times. Maybe that will be in your videos to come. Was a lot of those big lizard like animals on the property. On my pictures I wrote It was perfect weather the whole time, Just hot. I will do this trip again. Had plenty of Pepsi. Had weird foods. but I got plenty to eat. I'll write more next video. Thanks for all my memory lane movies.
Oh cool, so you were in a monkey-prone building, but they tend to hang out on the third floor from what we've heard. We did go explore that little ruin toward the end of the trip, which was cool. Love it!! :D

Jay your Spanish is quite good and the pronunciation is almost perfect. I would like to pronounce English as well as you do in Spanish. just keep practicing you will learn new words and you can even make complete sentences👌

Nothing better than random chatty pool time in such an amazing place! Curious, did you have a bug problem in the room since there was jungle hanging all around it? Jungle is cool but not bugs 😱😂. I'm lovin' this!! Thanks for bringing us along! 💖
We didn't notice any bugs in the room surprisingly, and we didn't find much in the way of mosquitoes outside while we were there. I know they drive around every so often spraying for mosquitoes and whatnot, so that seemed to help!!

All the water we've come across (other than from the bathroom faucets) is filtered... any water in restaurants, ice cubes, etc. But we use the bottled water to brush our teeth, indeed!! :P
Ooooh, nice! We haven't done Hotel Xcaret simply for budget reasons, and we don't have any plans to go there. When our wallets compare $400-$500/night for Hotel Xcaret versus $150-$200/night for Occidental, I'm pretty sure we'll be at Occidental every time, ha ha... :P
At Hotel Xcaret the price includes transport to and from the airport also all the parks (6-9 of them) with transportation to them. This is a once in a lifetime place to go and I have been lucky enough to go twice and dream of going back.

The fish in the adults-only pool were a little aggressive, so we didn't stay in there too long, ha ha... no real issues with the ones over in the lagoon for whatever reason... :P
We bring our own since snorkeling is such a frequent hobby when we're cruising or doing land trips. I believe they did have gear for rent, but we didn't ask if there was a fee or not since we came packin' ha ha... :P
This looks so cool, and the price looks very reasonable as well. I know you were planning a trip to Xcaret (looking forward to that video) but did you make it to Xel-Ha? My wife and I saw that when we were looking for NCL excursions, and it looks like so much fun! Thanks again!
We ended up doing two days at Xcaret Park, and we booked a Xel-Ha day but we didn't make it down there. They've allowed us one year to come back and use our ticket, so... I guess that's a good reason to head back to Mexico eventually, ha ha... :P
We decided to play it as safe as could be this time around, only opting to stay within the resort property, with a couple of trips to the park next door. Since 2020itis is still out there, we decided to avoid extra cab rides and things where more people might be, but maybe we'll check it out sometime in the future!! :P
