Yes. Me too. Rob Tapert was interviewed and said Renee approached him about changing her hair. I guess it's hard to remember what happened 20 years ago.
lol The reason people asked about Callisto, immediately after Renee talked about Alti is that Callisto is hands-down the favorite villain among the majority of fans. In fact, I'd say most fans prefer Callisto and Ares, with Alti as third favorite villain. This is partly because Alti didn't come until the second half of the series and people usually recall the first three seasons more fondly from a storytelling standpoint.
Alti is too generic for me and I had no emotional connection. Obviously she was introduced as straight-up evil and greatly feared as the ultimate villain, but Callisto is my favorite tv villain because she had an actual backstory and reason to hate Xena; Hudson did her so perfectly & I love her episodes. And Aries is so fun.
Thank you for making and posting this video, Queen. I'm a fan, since the beginning of Xena, of both of the characters, (and Joxer and Aphrodite too). But, I don't want to, nor have I EVER watched the last episodes, where Xena passes. My heart broke with Xena's broken back and their crucifixions, when Gabrielle fell into the fire pit, with Hope, and when Xena resuscitates Gabrielle. And I could feel the heartbreak of them both, living on without the other, even though it was fictional. I have known and can relate to that kind of heartbreak. My only hope is that we, indeed, have an afterlife, turn into energy form, and can reunite with lost loved ones. Thank you for your beautiful spirits on and off the screen, Gabrielle and Xena. 'We ALL want to see leaders, out there, who are looking for the greater good and fighting for the little guy, the ones who don't have a voice and feel vulnerable'. You empower and inspire others to follow in a path to help those who don't have a voice or the ability to defend themselves against bullies or multiple bullies out in the "real world". I guess that's why I appreciated writing, from an early age, as I didn't, always, have the capability to voice my pain and fear when I was a child. Xena, much like the classic fairy tales, such as Hansel and Gretel, show us how to defend ourselves against real life monsters and frightening situations we might encounter. This world can use millions of Xena/Gabriels, Renee's/Lucy's to help fight all the corruption and abuse bullies, with no integrity, world-wide, inflict on others. You, both, say that it was the writers who made the characters come to life and gave them their essence. Xena did have great writers and directors. But, a lot had to do with your real life personalities and beautiful hearts, as well. I've been watching the Xena and Hercules episodes on Tubitv, as there's less cabletv controlled commercial interruptions, incase anyone is looking for them.
She is totally underrated as an actress. I don't like the faith based films she's been in as they are so stereotypical with not a single gay character in them. A question of faith had a single mother in it but guess what...the single mother's daughter became a criminal!!! Why was the preacher a man? Why not a woman? I just think the faith based films do not do her talent justice. Her short films are incredible. I especially think Last Chance would have really pushed her into the spotlight if it had been a fully fledged film. I hope we see her do more acting because her talent is wasted in the faith based films unless it's something really good like Boy Erased. Renee O'connor should have been in that film.
Even Renee O'Connor agreed that the end of the series should have been different, Rob's spoiled pleasure at the end of the series nobody ever accepted that ridiculous ending, Xena was crucified, was frozen and etc ... to get to end of the series and the producers take a shit from that
@@ericconnor708 If you mean some general idea like the story of a violent character like Xena can only end in her death, I might agree with you to some extent. But the finale in particular is very flawed. Xena stayed dead for some random people in an accident she was hardly responsible for. She stayed dead because of some random stupid rules about vengeance, while we spent the whole series being told that vengeance is bad. She died and stayed dead because of the extremely manipulative Akemi, who was somehow given the famous lines of Gabrielle, who was nothing but sincere to Xena. Not to mention the script was a total rip-off from a Japanese(?) ghost story. In short, it didn't work. And it was terrible.
@@TranNguyen-sw7wu Xena didn't have to be responsible for their deaths to do the right thing for those people (their souls). Their souls needed an overseer and she volunteered (the greater good). Xena committed a selfless act. As for you calling it a "rip-off" of a certain story, it's more of an intentional homage to those kinds of stories. That's the point. Xena and Hercules did a lot of stories taken from folklore and mythology (of all religions). A Friend In Need was actually a homage to some films that were made that were themselves actually inspired by the people that produced/created Xena. Those films were inspired by The Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2. So, they were basically paying homage to something that payed homage to them, in a way, a circle of life and giving back (karma). And, yes, Xena was a warrior, so she was going to die as a warrior and I wanted to see that. It sucks when there are so many whiny people that can't handle reality/tragedy/death and need some bullshit happy ending because they can't handle something ending in a realistic way (people lose loved ones). They can't handle inevitability so they are ignorant and pretend it doesn't exist. It's best to face it right on and find beauty in the inevitable and purpose/meaning in what we do and how we live and how we face our ultimate demise.
Hi! I still don't know how to do subtitling and my Spanish isn't the same as it was one day LOL but I believe I left all my videos open to be subtitled for whoever wants to do it. I would love it if someone did eventually, would help a lot of English non-speakers.
Why not in german, dutch, italian, russian or chinese ? (and in french as I'm french). You can take the video, translate it in spanish, put subtitles and share it. All spanish fans will thank you for your job ! Help yourself and heaven will help you, I'm sure you heard it before. This girl is not paid by the United Nations, she shares her video as a fan and the first thing to do is to thank her.
