    The issue with that guitar being a bear to set up comes from Westcreek and some other low cost guitar companies using the Nashville bridge. Unlike a Gibson brand, the Nashville is designed for the screws to point toward the tail..look at the notches...simply turn that particular bridge around and it will intonate perfectly..no more bad notes...easy peasey! I can't believe they sent them from the factory like that, but it is an easy fix.
    Rock on brother!

      Good sir, my mind is absolutely blown! I can’t believe I didn’t even notice that. That’s an easy fix, for sure. If you don’t mind, I’m going to pin this comment so everyone else can see it to. Thank you for the heads up! 🤘🏻

    Most guitars need a set up out of the box. Gibson , Epiphone, Fender or Squire.

      For sure. That being said, I’ve been able to tune up and play right out of the box without dead notes, on many other budget brands, let alone the big brands. Sick channel btw. Any recommendations for “spooky” guitar pedals that offer a sound you can’t get out of a basic tube amp?

    Yeah, mine was in dire need of a setup right out of the box. Truss rod, bridge height, intonation, etc. Oh, and the string slots in the bone nut were too shallow as well. But other than that it's a beautiful looking axe@

  • @bobmartocchio6203
    @bobmartocchio6203 Год назад +1

    Just out of curiosity. We’re the dead notes a neck straightening issue or string height or fret leveling issue? I’ve been eyeballing this brand and have heard from other sources who have also said they needed to be set up. For my self I’m comfortable with most set up tasks except fret leveling as I do not have the proper tools and have not tackled that task yet. So I’m wondering what the issue ultimately was with your Westcreek?

    • @thetattedbaldguy
      @thetattedbaldguy  Год назад +1

      It took some adjusting of the trust rod, and that was it. The frets were nice and level on mine. They really did a nice job. Sadly, the biggest thing holding these budget brands from taking over is consistency. Sometimes you get a perfect gem out of the box, other times, you need a setup. Mine plays wonderfully now, and I haven’t had any issues since! 🤘🏻

    • @thetattedbaldguy
      @thetattedbaldguy  Год назад +2

      It depends where the buzzing is coming from. It most likely needs a trust rod adjustment. If you’re handy, and want to fix it yourself, I suggest watching a RUclips tutorial on trust rod adjustment. Otherwise a music store with a guitar luthier should be able to set it up for $30-40

    I bought the red version of this. Mine came with PAFs.
    The volume knob goes from zero to 100 in a quarter turn.
    The tone is much like my Epiphone les Paul.
    Mine needs some adjustment, but I have been too busy working to get around to it. I did a tiny video review on for Amazon.
    I just play some generic chords with just a hard rock sound right out of the box.
    It sustains really nice and long.
    I'm hoping they make an Amber colored version.
    They also have a V guitar now. I plan to get that down the road.

      I actually did a review on the V as well. It’s definitely a little better than the Revenge. It’s a shame the quality control issues happen. They’d sell out if they were more consistent but QC issues make people nervous to buy a “budget guitar”

    If you ARE a beginning guitarist THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO LEARN how to setup your own guitar. Later on, you'll be BUILDING your own guitar(s), just like EVH did, just like Yngwie Malmsteen did, just like Jake E. Lee did, just like Randy Rhoades did, just like Steve Vai did, just like SRV did and on and on.
    I ordered mine yesterday (sorry TBG, I used someone else's affiliate link), it's on the way. I can set my own up, have all the tools (nut files, fret files, various allen wrenches, strings, strap locks, strobe tuner, feeler gauges, straight edges, etc). I think you should name your demo song REVENGE IS A DISH BEST SERVED HOT.

    • @thetattedbaldguy
      @thetattedbaldguy  11 месяцев назад

      That’s kind of tough. This one only took a minor adjustment of the trust rod and it was good to go. Perhaps if you buy something off Sweetwater. I know they check every instrument before it gets sent out. If anything, I’d suggest Firefly when they restock. Their website is guitarsgarden. You can get a great guitar for less than $200 and worse case scenario, you spend the other $50 in your budget for a setup

      @thetattedbaldguy  Год назад

      I don’t blame you. I’ve had quite a few that were pretty good right out of the box, but the consistency is anyone’s guess. If you rather not do anything like adjust the trust rod, the shops are the better way to go. But guitar center is brutal sometimes. At least in my neck of the woods
