The late 90s All Star games were better than this w/ Jordan, Pippen, Barkley, Shaq, Robinson, Malone, Stockton, Kemp, Mutumbo, Ewing, among others all in the same game.
Look at how hard these guys compete against each other. Players were better and look at the front lines! Duncan, Garnett, Mutumbo, Webber, etc...(Shaq didn't play). Front court players today would get KILLED by these guys. The wings are amazing to. I shake my head when idiots say today's players are more athletic than these guys in their prime. HAHAHA.....they see an old Duncan and an old Garnett and be like "see Duncan and Garnett are slow". Hahhahaha....Duncan and Garnet are going to be 40 so of course they are slow.
Duncan and vice are my childhood heroes two of my fav amazing to remember this game and that block by carter to that little bunny by tim imo should hay look for quick fake or contact but one of the greatest 🎉
@@elnardowebster2842 Not a good pass though because it was about 2 seconds too late; had Tim open right after he rolled, but allowed Carter to get over & block Tim by waiting too long.
+kATOsTaRiS ....Kobe made the right play by passing the ball to Duncan bc Mutombo had a great chance of blocking Kobe's & (Did you see at 12:28 how high Mutombo jumped to contest Kobe's shot?-- Dikembe wasn't going to let the ball get past him) On the fly Kobe saw Tim Duncan who had a smaller Vince Carter guarding him (Duncan had a much better chance of hitting that last shot) Bc what were the odd's of the smaller Vince Carter (Even w/ his insane leaping abilities?) getting a piece of Duncan's shot in the last seconds in the game...? (see if i was Kobe i would have also put my money on Duncan shooting over Carter vs. Kobe trying to shoot over the D.M. who was already putting pressure on Kobe w/ his towering presence to either force up a bad shot or pass it w/ only seconds left in the game.
The allstar game was boring asf this year compared to this ... I mean you can hear the crowd through out the whole game and this years the crowd was sleep
20 yrs after this game comparing it to 2022 all star gamers I wanna cry for our new generation for witnessing washed up players these years much respect for all athletes around the world but it seems like 2000 era was the best in basketball I wanna say after MJ who really impacted the world of basketball we saw greatest players to walk on the court of basketball, salute to that generation
Best all star ever! Mutumbo prevents Kobe from shooting, Vince nearly blocks Duncan and Webber gets slightly pushed by McGrady causing to miss. Sick defense!
Golden days were the 80s with Jordan, Magic, Bird, Ewing, Dominique, Isaiah, Hakeem, Barkley etc. But this era of guys that came out all around the same time in mid 90s was the second wave...Shaq, Kobe, A.I., Duncan, Garnett, Vince, Kidd, McGrady
Yeah I remember this game clearly was the best damn night of my life for watching the NBA my boy is Stephon Marbury did his thing I was screaming loud that game I was horse the next day LOL the good old days and the old NBA the best time to watch that was always something excited every game every team at explosive player the next day of school everyone including the principal's had something to talk about that's when you know Sports was good
NBA at its Best.! With out the baby fouls!!!!.Kobe im getting Older when he's 20 yrs old. Lol can still Dunk. Like Jordan.!!!!! A mix of old new all star players always good. Miss this NBA.!!
It's amazing how these were real basketball players I'm trying to think did anybody mention some guy named LeBron of course not he couldn't hang with these guys
One thing I have always wondered is during the 2001 Allstar Game finish. Chris Webber is not able to do a final tip in and clock expires. Latrell Sprewell rushes from the bench and starts yelling and harrassing C-webb while all the other East teammates celebrate. This is early internet era so I cant find any information on why Sprewell is so upset.
wow.,.. looking back on this these guys were all in their prime. Holy shit i had forgotten how good they all were.
Michael...No, Mutumbo was still in a Hawks jersey until the 2001 trade deadline
@M why are you even here?
best. all. star. game. ever.
Nop all star game 1992 is best
Until now lol

THEBEST ALLSTAR GAME
16 years after this, Vince is still dunking. It's ridiculous.
this is an all star, not what we have today
Agreed!
The late 90s All Star games were better than this w/ Jordan, Pippen, Barkley, Shaq, Robinson, Malone, Stockton, Kemp, Mutumbo, Ewing, among others all in the same game.
Daniel Barwatt couldn’t disagree more. I think the current version is awesome
Agree
FijiMermaid did you not watch the 2020 Asg
When all star game was entertaining and competitive at the same time.
Whoo how I miss All Stars those days. Shaq. Kobe. Duncan. Iverson. Carter. Garnett. McGrady. Kidd.
My fav all-star game ever!!!

it was at this Moment kobe would not Pass the ball anymore
actually he made the best assist on the night and gave the ball to the open man on the last possession. Jus' sayin'....

Kobe should have taken that last shot. He would have 5 all-star game MVP awards now...

I'm still dumbfounded and can't believe the reality that you're gone, loved watching u play and will forever b my fav of all time, RIP Kob

The allstar game was boring asf this year compared to this ...

These guys were all competitive as hell. That's what made this game so good. Nowadays the players don't give a f about winning the ASG.

Thx for the upload. This was sick!
When life and everything was simple🤧
This is the golden days of NBA, a real all star game with defense. None of that 150-170 bs nowadays!
Evryone gets cautious when mount motumbo is in the paint
Just look at how much Kobe is smiling.
He lived and loved the game of basketball.
Miss Kobe and Gianna #GIRLDAD

Love to watch Marbury and Iverson in the same team.

The East is the team that could've been.
Amazing! What happened?
I remember this. Use to have on video wish I kept it
It was so sick when everyone wore their own jerseys too
GOLDEN ERA
Kobe A.I. KG Tim and other greats, set the bar too high.. now we have a celebrity like Garbage All star every year..
Last all star game worth watching
I remember laughing so hard when Spree ran up on Garnett at the end of the game
NBA owns Mabury an all star MVP!
