First off I am a bama fan, but not an auburn hater. But I was shocked when I heard Harsin is the guy. And I thought to myself, “wow, auburn actually made a good hire this time.” This is actually as good of a hire, imho, as they could have made. He is a known developer of talent. Especially qbs. I really respect this guy. If he can put together a staff that can recruit (and you have to be able to recruit in the Sec west), he will be successful. He will have a learning curve for sure, but if they don’t fire him after 2 years, he will be a fit at auburn and have success. Quality dude as far as I can tell.
The SEC isn’t the Mountain West. Harsin has never experienced the intensity and the passion around SEC football. I don’t believe he is the best fit for the program.
Auburn got a great coach from the Mountain West. Bryan did great for Boise. It sad to see him leave boise bc I love seeing Fresno state vs the bronco. The Bronco needs to grab Peterson, so their football program does not sink.

That is exactly what Chad Morris said at Arkansas, and he ended up maybe being the worst SEC coach to ever be hired. If you hear Harsin say anything like "Football is not who we are. BUT, I have watched Boise play for years and there was an obvious let down in heart playing on these last few teams. New coach, new energy for us will be a good thing I believe. Harsin WILL bring offensive creativity to Auburn, that I’m sure of. Harsin is extremely talented when it comes to motion, pre-snap, eye-candy movement. He will have defenses confused a good part of the time with what he’ll implement. BUT..... Boise’s defense has been sub-par for a few years. I know Coach Harsin isn’t in charge of the defensive side of the ball, but if he fails to find a DC - a very good DC - at AU then they’ll still struggle until he does find that right fit.
