thanks for making this video. I was able to fix a a problem with my phone not charging, and it only costs me like £4 for a replacement USB board off Aliexpress. A phone shop wanted to charge me about £80 for a replacement motherboard and service, claiming the problem is (possibly) humidity and moisture damage; sounded like some made up nonsense when they said it, and this fix just confirms that.

I plugged in the charger and suddenly phone started charging properly. So maybe my problem was a loose or dirty contact on the pcb. Its very easy to remove the back cover. I removed it with my finger nail slowly carefully. I'm posting here as it may help someone. Its worth trying before replacing the socket.

The repair guy instead of replacing the board he just replaced the pin. It is charging now but it no longer connects to PC even with all the drivers installed. Do u think he made a mistake and turned the charging port to charge only and no usb debugging?

I guess it's the same problem as mine, change your power circuit, it's fried. In the meantime, try with a lower voltage charger (such as a laptop or car charger). It may work!
