One of the biggest projects in Greece is under construction and it is none other than the tallest skyscraper in the country located in the Hellinikon Metropolitan Park.
The Riviera Tower (Pyrgos Riviera), originally known as the Marina Tower, is part of the redevelopment of the former Hellinikon International Airport and is being implemented by the Lamda Development company.
In a huge, innovative and innovative project, Pirgos Riviera is estimated at approximately 370 million euros where it will become the tallest residential skyscraper in the Mediterranean, 200 meters above sea level, 50 floors and 170 apartments.
As revealed during the first presentation of Riviera Tower, all residences will be airy and offer unobstructed panoramic views. Each of its apartments will have the most modern quality features in spaces, facilities and amenities, excellent construction materials, friendly to the environment, as well as all the specifications of a "smart" building.
Those who pass the coastal avenue at the height of the old airport observe the construction of the 200-meter skyscraper developing at a fast pace and on schedule, raising one floor every 5 days. As you can see from our plans the project is developing at a fast pace and seems to have surpassed the 6th floor.
Pioneering methods have been applied to the project: "the 5-day cycle" has been chosen for its construction, meaning that the skeleton of each floor is completed within five days. Accordingly, on every 10 floors, the external cladding will be completed with the assistance of specialized workshops.
The building aspires to be a model of sustainable construction in the category of very tall buildings not only in our country, but throughout Southeast Europe. It will be a "green giant" as it will be a model of new generation biophilic design, harmonizing the urban with the natural environment. The main feature of the design approach, as announced, is the creation of an aesthetically simple building in full harmony with the sea and the special features of the Mediterranean landscape. The significant presence of greenery and the water element will stand out, thus enhancing its bioclimatic character.
The skyscraper will rise to 50 floors and offer unobstructed views of Sounio, Aegina, Salamina, the Aegean Sea, Agios Kosmas Marina, the Metropolitan Park of Hellinikon, the Acropolis and Ymittos.
Another success of the Riviera Tower is the foundation which was completed with the defining step of the longest continuous 40 hours of concreting in the country and used 3,000 tonnes of ECOPlanet cement and 14,000 tonnes of aggregates to produce 7,500 m3 of ECOPact low carbon footprint concrete. The installation of 111 piles, 1.5 meters in diameter at a depth of 50 meters, had previously been completed.
With the completion of the largest green coastal residential tower in the Mediterranean expected in the first quarter of 2026, it will become an urban and architectural benchmark for the country.
