Why would you do a janky fuzz tap like that when you can literally go to Autozone or oreily (where you probably got the extra fuses) and buy a fuse tap. Which their actually called fuse taps, and their way easier to install then shoving a cut spade into a fuse?
Sorry for the late response. I did not get a notification for this post. You place the cars speaker wire on the far inside of the clamp and the new wire leading to the amp on the outer part of the clamp. Then squeeze the metal plate down with a pair of pliers to complete the wire connection. Test for connectivity and then close the lid.
I did everything that you said exactly but it didn't work. Amp is working fine but I'm guessing it's in the speaker wire I did something wrong... Any suggestions?
@@austindalton7791 get a line put converter I bought the cheapest one off Amazon. Then you have to pull the pillar behind the driver and passenger seat and splice into the speaker wires. If you are gonna do it let know. And I'll go out and take a pic of the wires you need to use. Mine is a 2018 and I'm running 1 15inch sub with an 1100 watt Amp
Earlier in the video he verbally says he uses the shifter illumination fuse (which is a 5A fuse on F30), but then once he actually shows the fuse being used at 10:15, he is using F31 (a 20A fuse for WIPER REAR). I actually think either fuse will work for Remote wire since both of those circuits will turn off when the vehicle is off. BUT...what I don’t know is whether rear wiper circuit will stay on when the auto start-stop engages at a red light. Therefore I think shifter illumination (F30) is the right way to go.
Hey thanks for this, working on my install right now and needed the extra information!
Thank you I'm currently doing the same
Good write up!!! I assume with the wiring, the wire on both sides with the black stripe is the ground for each side?
excellent
You could have just used a fuse tap. You could have also just spliced into the rear deck speakers and used a line output converter to go to the sub.
No rear deck speakers for the base model stereo system.
Not everyone has a fuse tap or even wants to buy one. This is just one of many methods to do this.
@@danielscottnewton did you ever get yours set up?

I bout died when I seen that 😂
Thanks.
you should explain how to use the splice clamps

Did you get it figured out?
Lol... I built a 2400W 240A system in my 2017 Cruze. Seems I need a bigger alternator. 😅
Yo dude I just installed my subs but I have the plastics off still. Do I put them back on starting from the back? Or do I start from the front?
Is this a hatchback or sedan? Also would it matter for this setup?
How do you get sound to the speakers? It can’t be that easy
The wires running from the stock speaker wires go to a line out converter. Changes it from regular wires to RCA jacks that plug into an amp
@@imperfect_Visions how does that work tho what do you have to do for thay

How did you hook up into the radio?
Why not splice into the rear deck speakers?

There are no rear deck speakers in the base model.
You believe or it’s F31?
